I think this place shines best when it is hosting a reception or a large gathering. In fact, on the night we were there, they were hosting a small rehearsal dinner. It was set up inside an actual dining car that rests inside a larger dining room. I think most of the staff's attention was focused on the dining car guests, because service on our end was a little slow, and disheveled at the beginning. Not sure if we needed reservations, but it appears they might prefer this over walk ins. The train station is packed with all kinds of train paraphernalia and local history on display, so I always found it to be a fun, and unique place to dine, but this recent visit was a disappointment for the money that was spent. The train station is definitely a place to try, but be prepared, since it can be pricey.

Upon searching good ol Google we found this place and the Gluten Free menu was huge so we knew we had to go here! To start out with, we ordered Shrimp and Crab Fries. They were really good. The flavors all together were perfect and it was a huge portion size definitely worth the money! Since never being there before we asked the waitress the fan favorites and she recommended the burgers so we had to try them. I got the GF regular Cheeseburger and he got the GF Maple Bacon Burger- unfortunately when it initially came out it was on a normal bun but, they were quick to fix it by making a whole new burger and discounted the burger! The server was so sweet and apologized. I do think the burgers were juicy and big! Great portions and very reasonable pricing. I cant wait to try their other options!

Their menu had a lot of interesting options. We ordered two pizzas, the Seafood Pizza and the Margherita Pizza. Both were great but I especially enjoyed the Seafood Pizza! It was my first time having seafood pizza in the U.S. so I was really happy to find a place that serves it. The crab was a little salty but I still enjoyed it overall. We liked their pizzas so much that we ordered from them again and tried a pasta and a sandwich. My gnocchi had the perfect texture, although the ragu sauce was slightly too salty for my taste. My husband got the jerk chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. We didn't dine in this time but we'd love to try the restaurant in person the next time we're in the area.

We thought this would be the same experience, and opted to give them a try since we were closer to here. Unfortunately, we were wrong. As huge fans of the other location's pizza and pasta, this did not meet expectation. The crust was about the same, albeit slightly sweeter. The sauce, though--WAY BEYOND over sweet compared to the other Jioio's, and much thinner. Again, please know--we were expecting sweeter sauce, since we love Carbon Jioio's so much. This was over and beyond.... As an app, we tried the Deluxe Garlic Bread, something we always get at the other Jioio's. This was okay, but a bit more soggy than the other place would have been--and again, that red sugar syrup sauce.... I tried the veal parmesan, and while I loved the amount of cheese they put on top, the same WAY OVER sweet, thin sauce, was used on it and the spaghetti side. It was so thin that it wouldn't even stick to the noodles. And, again, about put me in diabetic shock. The veal itself was something I would expect to get in a hospital or school lunch. A soggy, terrible ground up patty that absorbed up all that red sugar water they were trying to pull off as Joio's sauce. The side salad they gave was great portion, though, and I really liked their bleu cheese dressing. The service, however sweet-tooth cracking the food was, was phenomenal. You can tell the restaurant has been around for a while, and has an old-school family feel. As super-fans of the Carbon Joio's, I can't ever see myself returning here. I'm telling you....once you've had the Carbon Jioio's, you won't be able to stomach eating the sauce here. It's THAT thin and sweet. I guess the moral of the story is consider what you want to get. If you want pizza and pasta, go to the other one. Otherwise, I am sure this would be okay for other food items. Just not the veal......

A couple of minutes later another table was sitted in the same area. However, the hostess stated to the waitress wait on them first. We placed our order e.g. fish dinner and pierogi dinner and my wife asked for tarter sauce with her meal. She also ordered a glass of wine and extra napkins. We have our napkin and silverware but no plate for bread or appetizers. The waitress brought the bread but no plates. We asked for plates and extra napkins again. The waitress placed the tray holder up and we received our meal minus the plates and tarter sauce. Again we asked for plates, napkins and tarter sauce. The waitress left but kept the tray holder up at our table. The tray holder stayed there for two more passes by by our waitress. I finally got up and returned it to the original position against the wall. My wife had the vegetable of the day. It was horrible, no taste. There wasn't any butter or seasoning on the vegetables. My dinner was lukewarm at best. The waitress asked us if the meal was good and we explained our concerns that I mentioned above. The waitress stated sorry and left our table. We asked for a box to take the food home and the check. We receive our bill noticing that my wife was charge for a wine plus another "pour". We questioned this with our waitress and she said to take it up to the hostess and she'll take it off. Really?!? The tables that the waitress had near us had their plates taken off their table. However, there was ZERO attempt to remove our empty plates. My wife told the hostess about our dining experience but she could careless. We are trying to help local businesses in our neighborhood, but we can't continue to support this business if it remains this way.

Polka, pasta, and pure joy!…read more We came to Rizzo's Malabar Inn for Polka Night, and let me tell you--it wasn't just dinner, it was a memory. The music was so beautiful it brought actual tears to my eyes, and my 84-year-old mother was absolutely glowing. Watching her smile, tap her foot, and soak in every note was something I'll never forget. The polka? Incredible. The food? Out of this world. Every bite was rich, comforting, and full of old-school Italian flavor. ‍ The service? Flawless. And then--Chef Bill Shockley appeared like a culinary angel. Not only is his food amazing (seriously, this man is a magician with a sauce), but he came to our table, made a fuss over my mother, and treated her like royalty. She was absolutely over the moon. THAT is customer service. Thank you for employing Bill--he is truly a gem, and his personal touch made our night unforgettable. Special shoutout as well to our fantastic server and to the two young ladies who helped me make a reservation for our party of 11. They treated me like family from the very first call--kind, accommodating, and full of that signature Rizzo's hospitality. This wasn't just a meal--it was an experience that fed our hearts as much as our bellies. We'll absolutely be back. And next time? I'm bringing dancing shoes and an even bigger appetite.
