None of the areas looked maintained or cared for. I get it, your patrons are slobs and don't care if stuff falls etc, but that's why you have employees. I'm not sure if they are understaffed, but the manager who used to run it, made sure her store was kept organized and clean looking. Hopefully something will change, two stores already left out of that plaza, hoping you WONT be the next.

I remember visiting North Carolina and going to Gabe's. I love that it's a discounted bargain store. We pulled up and there's plenty of parking. This store is - odd.. they do carry a wide variety of lightweight home furnishings and decor, seasonal items, beauty, clothing, shoes, housewares, toys, gourmet food items, accessories, and baby stuff.. but it's so disorganized.. it's nearly impossible to look for anything.. it's like if Dollar General and TJ Maxx had a baby- it could be Gabe's.. They occasionally have a few items of interest, yet the displays are awful) yet better than than in comparison to the day they first opened)........but it's always a bit of a eyesore.. it always seems as if the manager needs to straighten the place up.. it is chaos!! Or vest are hit or miss/ sometimes low, occasionally off the mark.. I've seen carhart jackets and j crew pants for decent prices and yet I've looked at tankless candles pretty cedar as much as the original retailer and cheap looking sesdinal decor I can buy at dollar tree at an 1/8th the price.. If you want to go bargain hunting, be prepared to look around awhile- and bring hand sanitizer.. and don't be disappointed that toy couldn't find much because of the disorganized clutter!! Don't bother requesting help from an associate- even if you can spot one.. they do their best to ignore customers..

It was always a hodgepodge of odds and ends, closeouts and products in discontinued styles for cheap, along with no pretense, dorm room-style, assembly required furniture. No more! Now it seems like the novelty of what made Big Lots cool is gone. All I see now is more and more cheaper imitation Art Van and Lazy Boy knockoff furniture and convenience junk food. The prices are higher, the selection is poorer and the parking lot is so characterized by pot holes that I'm afraid I would damage the shocks or struts on my nice car by parking here. The pot holes are like craters, so heed them when shopping at this Big Lots. I don't understand why they are turning this Big Lots, which is supposed to be an outlet for odd lots, discontinued items and closeouts from larger department stores, into a wannabe furniture store. At least before, there was no lying about what the quality was like. It was cheap dorm room quality stuff for practically nothing that wasn't designed for a real household with families and all that entails. Now, it looks like a closeout furniture mart. It's sad. I used to love finding gourmet coffee and tea here for cheap. If I was looking for furniture, I'd go to a real furniture store, not here. The international food and chocolates section is but a quarter the size of what it once was and the selection isn't what it used to be. No more good bargains on Swiss chocolates, Belgian coffees and seasonings from all over the world. This store could be cleaner, too. When was the last time they waxed the floors?
