Easily my favorite bakery in Atlantic City. The staff is super friendly and all of their baked goods are delicious. Two of my favorites are the elephant ear and the vanilla biscotti. Not super sweet, very light making them both the perfect breakfast snack or dessert. The Apple and strawberry strudels are also a must try.

I'm a couple of weeks off on my review. But yes you can see my routine, we were on a mini vacation in AC, and as always Formica's Bakery is our last stop, until we hit the Atlantic City expressway. It's such a great feeling when I walk in and the owners recognize me, and say your up for a visit again, hope it was a nice one. They recommend some of there new baked items, and I shop away. The owners and I laugh every time, I can never leave them without spending $50-$60 worth of bakery goods. Two large brown bags. Each time we say to one another do you think it's less then $50. And we just laugh. What amazing owners, great personalities, and great bakers. They always make me feel like family when I walk in. They always wish me safe travels. I can't wait until my next trip. Yelp won't even let me post more pictures, since I already posted 50 photos in the past, which stinks because everyone I visit they have more delicious items to show.

Nice bakery with a multitude of options, near the boardwalk. We stopped here on our way out of AC and the treats made our drive home a lot more pleasant. We settled on two chocolate muffins for breakfast (just go with it), some chocolate covered pretzels for an afternoon treat, and a vanilla frosted donut. Everything was yummy and we'd definitely visit again when in town.

Formica is 5 stars all around. Conveniently located across the street from White House subs Formica is an Atlantic City institution. The Italian pastries are wonderful especially the Cannolis which are stuffed fresh, the cream is perfect and the shells are crunchy as they should be. The fresh Italian bread is outstanding. Tomato pies are a top seller as are their chocolates. Nothing to better than a cannoli after a White House sub.

So many visitors to Atlantic City come to this block to visit White House Subs and miss out on the actual best landmark on the block that is Formica Bros Bakery right across the street. The bakery that creates the bread which is the real star of those famous sandwiches. Everything i have ever gotten from this tiny cafe and bakery is outstanding including the bread, pastries and baked goods and chocolate covered delights as well as their cannolis and tomato pie slices. The tomato pie actually deserves its own sentence to acknowledge how great it is; the bread and crust have a great crunch consistency and chew in all the right places and the sauce is exceptionally well balanced no too sweet and not too tart. just right and rivals any u will find in Philly or South Jersey. I also enjoy and the different sweet bread breakfast loaves and muffins. They also have several cakes that i have never tried but based on all my other experiences would no think twice about getting if need for a special occasion. Lastly I must say they make some of the best non chain store coffees, espressos and lattes i have ever had anywhere in the country and are a must pickup whenever i am driving by and need a quick pick me up for the ride home to PA. The staff is extra friendly and quick to help u pick the best item for your needs. And for such a small store it is incredibly comfortable, clean and well laid out to fit a whole lot of food and a few tables looking out onto Arctic Ave. Love these old authentic independent stores and will always be a visitor as long as we both are around.

If you are in Atlantic City and love good fresh baked Italian bread, make sure to stop in here. These folks make the rolls for The White House Sub Shop across the street. The selection of various fresh bread gives you a number of choices from the huge sub rolls to mini dinner rolls. With or without sesame seeds, whole wheat or white and semolina bread. The shop also has a nice selection of Italian cookies and biscotti. Stop in you won't regret it.

I asked Formicas Bakery if they could do a pull-apart cup cake for the bachelorette I was hosting. The party was disco/Mamma Mia inspired and they did an amazing job. Communication was very simple and one of the easiest processes. 5 stars is not enough for how TASTY the cupcakes were. Best I've ever had. Ingredients were so fresh and every bite was better than the last. I could tell they spent a lot of time on the cake, preparing ingredients, etc. 10 stars for sure!

Always fresh & delicious. I've been going here for longer than I care to admit and it has become a mandatory stop every time I'm in AC.

The chicken was really good very flavorful and super tender, perfect amount of cheese and sauce on it as well. Pasta was cooked perfect and was very good 10/10. My wife had got the mussels with pasta and that was out of this world. First off the amount of mussels you get is crazy they give you so much. They were cooked great, cleaned really well also. Service was good from the bar as well as when i sat down. Food came out fast and tastes great. They don't rush you they space out the appetizer and your meal very well so it gives you time to enjoy it and not eat your dinner right after you finish the appetizer. Last thing is the prices for all of this is unmatched great prices and good food definitely something to try out.

We were seated near the front of the restaurant so I didn't see a lot of it, but it seemed spacious. The food was absolutely delicious. For our group size, we ordered Caesar salad, shrimp scampi, meatballs in marinara, and chicken parm. Everything was delicious and it was more than enough for the group to share. I had a glass of red wine that was good, and others enjoyed their cocktails. My one gripe is that the service from our waitress wasn't great. We were there late in the evening, close to closing so it wasn't unusually busy. But it took a very long time to flag her down for our check. She just seemed to disappear. But for us, it was mediocre at best and nearly all of our 10 person group said we'd never return. Upon being seated our server greeted us and she was friendly enough, but her competency was more of the issue. For instance, I ordered a drink, so did many others at my table. After about 10 minutes we ordered some starters, but the drink hadn't arrived yet. They actually didn't arrive until right before the main courses arrived. We noticed that the other half of our party, as well as two other tables of colleagues (not part of our party) were getting drinks more than once in the amount of time it took us to get the first round. When my drink arrived, it wasn't made properly, she also didn't understand what I was saying when I was ordering it, but it was a simple martini, up with a twist, very common. I sent what she gave me back and just stuck with water. As for the food, it was ok. The group agreed that the salad and the chocolate bread pudding were our two favorite things. The red sauce with the chicken parm was bland and the chicken parm's texture was odd considering the thinness of the chicken itself. Lots of places to eat in town, I'll go elsewhere next time.

The service was amazing and attentive, and despite many patrons, it wasn't too loud. It felt very cozy. Everything is pricey but well worth it. Because we had such a great time, we came for dessert twice. The "dolci assortiti" is a natural choice because who can resist a sampling of cheesecake, tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake with zabaglione and whipped cream. It was a small serving of each, but they were all wonderful, with the cheesecake being denser than a typical NY cheesecake while the tiramisu was so light, and the chocolate is always a satisfying option. They have a few desserts served tableside, so we gave the "pere al vino" which they bring over a wooden tabletop and slice up and assemble the pear, berries, and cream. It's fun to watch and the pears were so sweet paired (pears paired - ha) with the soft, decadent cream. It was a little show and sweet, healthyish fruit. A different occasion, we got a special that wasn't on the menu (against our original plans) which was a gelato (we got cappuccino) with a berry sauce that was prepared tableside. Anything with a flambe is exciting and draws attention from other tables. It made such a tasty fruity puree on top of the gelato for a perfect combination of hot and cold temps melding together. Then we also got the affogato with vanilla gelato, both gelatos being super flavorful and creamy, this one with a nucillo amaro liquer to up the ante on coffee flavor with a little buzz. It was also a large size serving plenty for 2. I do want to actually try entrees one day, but they have such amazing baked desserts, gelatos, and tableside prepared offerings that make this a unique experience within the Hard Rock.
