The Sandy Springs LA fitness gym is dirty, dated and drab. Even after asking staff to clean up…read moredisgusting areas, they may go untreated. Toilet paper is not always available, the place smells, and it's often either too hot in summer or too cold in winter. Much of the equipment is really old and when needed repairs are noted, they seem to take far too long to get fixed. They show no customer loyalty, even to customers who have been long-standing members.

This LA Fitness in Sandy Springs was one of the better ones, but things are heading south quick…read more There has been no hot water for a week and a half. At a residence, that can usually be fixed in a day. At a gym, where hundreds of people are using it constantly, it should be fixed in a matter of hours. If they get around to that, they may also want to replace the mildew-covered shower curtains, that should cost a few dollars. Yesterday, when I went there, there had clearly been no janitor the night before and the locker room was wretched. LA Fitness really lets their clubs deteriorate and obviously no one inspects gyms or most of theirs would be closed. I drive across town to go to this one because most of the LA Finesses from Buckhead to the South Perimeter of the city (which have a pool) are rotting. I'm still a member because it's a national company and I am out of town for part of the year, so it's convenient to go in more than one state. My daughter recently joined, but thankfully doesn't use the locker rooms. They closed the popular LA Fitness in Brookhaven, which was shockingly well maintained. Notice, I am still giving this club three stars, as it's better than most of them.

If you like to run they have options. Also If you need another office space. I work in the concourse and many of us have access to their own offices and common offices so i wasn't really a fan of anything i saw. Also there's no incentives for people that work in the concourse. I was hoping for a reason to switch to this gym but every dot they dotted and t they crossed didn't pass for me. I would've preferred more modern units, more benches and definitely more dumbbells. My local Y actually beat them on raw weight and benches. Oh and this gym is actually cheaper in NY. If that makes sense.

So it's gonna suck for about a year maybe, then when all the upgrades are done and you finally get to take advantage of an upgraded club, I bet they're going to raise your membership fee! Here's what I'm doing instead: Forum Athletic Club is $15.00 a week or $60 a month. Dynamo Swim Club has awesome swim facilities for a 55 and over pass of $37.00. That's half of the 125.00 I"m paying at Concourse. At some point I'll come back to CAC b/c it's a really nice gym but in the transition, save your money...

I've been coming to Crunch fitness for over a year now and I've really enjoyed my time here…read more This is definitely a gym where if you are a "beginner", just want a solid work out and want to avoid judgement, you'll feel very comfortable. There area also people here who are very serious and experienced in their fitness journey and they are not judgmental at all and don't walk around like they own the place. What has kept me engaged this past year are the group fitness classes that are offered throughout the week. They are led by different trainers and there are many styles of classes to choose from. If you are like me and don't always know what to do in the gym or want to switch up your routine you should give them a try. My membership includes being able to go to other gyms. Usually I stick to Perimeter but I've been to Chamblee as they offer different classes so I enjoy that perk. The gym is always clean. Mr. Richard works so hard to make sure things are clean, in their proper place and that machines are functioning correctly. Parking at this gym leaves a lot to be desired. There are a couple rows of parking right in front. If you don't find a spot there then you will either have to park in the back of the building or a bit further down. This location is in an awkward drive through shopping center type of thing so it can be hard to find decent parking. Staffing wise it seems as though this gym has a decent amount of turnover. There are a few staff members that have worked there consistently, and then others that are newer. You can definitely make a distinction between ones that are more invested than others. Sometimes it feels like they would rather hang out at the counter than assist the members.

Staff are very friendly and keep the place clean and organized. They have a hot sauna as well which is a great amenity to have because not all locations have them. I enjoy visiting this one whenever I'm in town!

Joining Life Time has been one of the best decisions our family has made…read more Like many busy professionals, I had built a great home gym over the years. What I didn't realize I was missing was the energy that comes from being surrounded by people pursuing health, wellness, growth, and recovery. What sets Life Time apart is that it isn't just a gym. It's an ecosystem built around helping people become the healthiest version of themselves. One day I may run laps on the indoor track. Another day I may focus on strength training, core work, boxing, stretching, or recovery. There are machines and training areas for every fitness level and every goal imaginable. Treadmills, weights, functional fitness spaces, recovery tools, massage chairs, stretching equipment, steam rooms, hot tubs, infrared saunas, traditional saunas, cold recovery spaces, and more. And yes, there are televisions everywhere filled with sports. Lots and lots of sports. The atmosphere is contagious. You are surrounded by people investing in themselves, challenging themselves, and pursuing healthier lives. One of the lessons I recently wrote about in my article Dynamic Stretch + Recovery is that growth doesn't happen during the workout alone. Growth happens in the recovery. Muscles strengthen when they are challenged and then given time to rebuild. The same is true in life. The best leaders understand this. The healthiest people understand this. Strong performance requires intentional recovery. Life Time has reminded me of that truth. For me, the traditional sauna has become a favorite place to reflect, pray, recover, and simply be still. It is often in those quiet moments that I find clarity, gratitude, and perspective. What has surprised me most is how much our entire family loves it. My daughter is having a blast with the pools, water slides, and activities. The outdoor beach club atmosphere, music, and weekend events make it feel more like a resort than a gym. My husband has found a place to exercise, stay active, and invest in his health as well. We joined thinking we were purchasing a fitness membership. What we found was community, family experiences, wellness, recovery, inspiration, and joy. In a world that constantly tells us to do more, Life Time reminds us that our health, our families, and our well-being are worth investing in too. Grateful we made the decision.
