Do not go to this gym. Chris the new manager just told me that my membership, which I pay $50 to bring a guest, and the two KIDS membership who workout with me will be revoked because "I train them". I've been a member for a few years now. I just returned after 3 weeks off. So for 2026 I was hoping for improvements. NONE. Still only 1 styrofoam roller!! Need more benches in mens room. Why was the clock on the wall in front of the cardio equip removed?? The mens sauna room needs complete renovation. Still out of use jacuzzi and pool!!! So the gym is OK - they have all the equipment needed, and they have a sauna and a steam room and a small , three-lane, lap pool. They have a lot of machines, and I can get everything I need done here. The problem I have is with the staff, the billing practices, the lack of communication and the dishonesty. These themes have become so ubiquitous at gyms, that I haven't joined one for years. I'm only here because I'm running a half marathon in a little over a year and I know that I will need to log some miles and build up my cardio, muscles on machines when it's freezing or boiling outside. All that being said, they had a promotion about a week and a half half ago for $25 initiation fee and 35 a mont. You pay your initiation fee and you pay the first two months, get one free - so about $95 for three months. Not bad. Two weeks after I sign up I get a $59 charge on my credit card. I called to find out why and after ringing 20 times I can hear a voice in the background and then a quick disconnection as the person hangs up on me. I called back and let it ring at least a dozen more times and the same girl/voice answers and I ask her to please not hang up. I let her know that it appears I'm being charged too soon and I'm being charged the wrong amount. She informs me this is the annual fee that they always charge two weeks after you sign up...I'm sorry come again?! Excuse me, what?! I let her know that first of all, I wish she would not hang up when a customer calls and second I wish they had been honest about the charge. When I signed up, no one mentioned it. Just do honest work guys - it's not that hard and you will feel better about yourself and your members will feel better about working out at your establishment. read more

The building is fine. All you need. The leadership is nonexistent and incompetent. Not trained. The place is dirty. The staff are either rude or clueless. The operations manager (Sean) is a disaster. You would think he would walk the floor, clean up machines and remove other people's trash they left on them, make sure the soap containers are full of soap, pick up trash out of the lockers and on the floor in the bathroom. Or perhaps delegate to one of the minions. Oblivious to how to run a gym. It's just a building. The associates are what makes you want to be there. This place is honestly the worst. Oh, and try to cancel your membership. Nearly impossible. (Google lawsuit against LA Fitness on this topic). Ya know, you would think some smart person in the company would say, "Hey, Nearly all of the reviews are bad for this location. Maybe I should look into this and fire the leadership and make this right." I've seen the operations manager in the sauna while he's "working". Seems he should focus on the customer and maybe tidy up the place. P.S. The sauna is a joke. "no rules". The Ops Manager comes into the sauna on his phone.. not even any headphones.. Walks in talking loudly. When I said, hey could you maybe finish the call outside, he informed me "why? there are no rules.". Clean and very accessible. I did the guest 3 day pass online and it took me less than 5 minutes. I received the email with the pass and simply scanned at entrance with zero hassle and went straight to work I by out. Saunas are not coed. Pool and hot tub are coed. Gym was spacious and no waiting. All machines were clean and in good condition. I used the gym twice between 9-12noon. read more

Now that the hours have changed (daylight savings) in March , leadership doesn't want to revert their schedule to closing at 8:00 pm as it was before the hour change back in November. But in November 2024, they change the hours immediately to close at 6:00 pm on weekends. People are starting to cancel their membership because LA Fitness apparently can not keep their word. Us, that have a membership. made an agreement with the hours promoted in mind, we need weekends to go back to closing at 8:00 pm!! I wasn't going to post a review, because this club is in my rear view already, but today, as I was running on the treadmill, I saw the ceiling collapse on the mat workout area, and I said, "Last Straw". LA Fitness as a chain, is a good value club, but the Roswell location is a pit. I was warned by a friend who was a fitness pro there, but I joined because they had a sauna and were much more affordable than Lifetime. I have a pretty high tolerance for mess, I've raised three boys and have seen it all, but the bathrooms are frequently dirty, no paper and not the slightest amenity. Staff seems to turn around very frequently, which I know from experience is not uncommon in the industry. Sauna has been out of commission for about a month. Previous to that, I had a bad experience, where I was in the sauna and felt uncomfortably hot, got out, fainted!, fell and pushed a tooth in. Figured it was my fault for pushing too hard during my workout. Couple of weeks later, there's a fire in the wall, apparently wiriing to the sauna had caught on fire. I'm still scratching my head, thinking maybe the thermostat had been off!?!? I guess I will never know. Last thing, if you are planning to go during the day, know that there is a group of retired old men who like to jeer and hoop and holler at you if you're not willing to waste your time humoring them. Maybe it's because I'm older too, but honestly, I go to work out, that's it, and I think a person should be left alone, if they make it clear that's their choice. read more

I have learned to lower my expectations about everything, recently, and when I am getting the right value for the bucks I am spending, why complaining? I go to LA because for the $42/month I pay I get access to the gym, the pool, the few classes they have and, by the way, I can always bring a guest with me!! This gym is never crowded, the pool is always pretty much empty. The equipment I use works just fine. I can't complain. It's not a 5 stars just because of: Wi-Fi not always working They should add more sanitizers and paper dispensers so that you don't have to walk all over the place to find stuff to clean the equipment you used. This is literally the dirtiest, nastiest, dimly lit gym in all of Atlanta. Cobwebs throughout the entire locker rooms. Every ceiling vent is black from dirt. Lots of the light bulbs are burned out. The shower heads and soap dispensers are never working properly and are usually broken or empty. The shower stalls are completely filthy with mold and mildew from top to bottom. Every shower curtain is covered with mold. I go to the gym daily, and I've never ever seen anyone cleaning. They only empty the trash cans. The ONLY bright spot in this place is Becky, the Operations Manager. She's always smiling, very friendly and helpful. PLEASE CLEAN THIS GYM! read more

Women's sauna has been broken for the past six months. I've called several times and there is no sense of urgency about fixing it.

I feel compelled to write. I am a member of LA Fitness but usually go to the Brookhaven location. I called today regarding a membership cancellation and was automatically transferred to the Holcomb Bridge location and the manager, Jennifer answered. I'll spare readers the details, but I was calling because I had paid the balance due on my account two weeks ago in an effort to cancel my membership due to COVID. The employee who processed my payment said my membership would be cancelled. I pressed her on this and was reassured multiple times. Lo and behold, our card was charged a monthly membership fee a few days ago. I explained this to Jennifer. She told me there was no way to refund this and that cancellations are only done through the mail or in person. Here are things the MANAGER actual told me, a customer, of probably 3-4 years: 1) You must have been confused 2) if you come in, we can highlight for you where it says this in the contract (I have an MBA, and pretty good listening skills, which I used to listen to an employee tell me I didn't have to do anything else) Aside from that- how insulting! 3) Jennifer ultimately hung up on me Before being hung up on, I clearly explained everything that happened. After years of membership fees for my wife and me, you'd think the least they could do would be refund a $30 fee since their employee gave me inaccurate info. Hands down the worst and most poorly managed LA Fitness I've been to, and I have been to different LA's throughout five different states. The employees get paid to literally stare at their phones the entire shift. They don't greet you or ever smile. The gym is dirty, not to mention the equipment is always a disaster and sprawled throughout the facility. I only still come to this location because it's closest to my house. The manager would do better if their staff actually went around re-racking weights and cleaning the facility as opposed to being on their phones 24/7. read more

Normally the gym is decent but today they INSTALLED a LOCK BOX on the men's SAUNA so you can't turn off the light. Plenty of light comes in to where u can see just fine, no one likes this light on. It's very bright and it's nothing but men sweating... nobody needs that in full light. REMOVE THIS BOX SO THE LIGHT CAN REMAIN OFF AS YOUR MEMBERS PREFER IT! read more

So as Billy H mentioned this place is going on 10+ years old. And on top of that, most of the equipment was brought over when they opened from the previous location. So the equipment often times, on any given day, at least 2-3 machines are down for repair. Sure they have a pool, hot tub, sauna... but the 30$+ a month that most people pay is 3 times what people are paying for basic gyms with new equipment with TV's built into the equipment. The TV's provided hanging from the ceiling at the cardio equipment are like 32" TV's to be seen from 50 feet away? Pfffft. I had been an LA Fitness member for at least 14 years when I decided to leave, for several reasons, including my perception that they don't really care about my loyalty in honoring my past rate from year to year, as it said in my contract they would. Over that time, at this location, I've also seen how badly LA Fitness treats their employees - and usually they are very good employees. Upper management mostly cares about money, in my opinion, and they will bug you 5 months in advance to renew if you have yearly memberships. Sure they run a clean gym, but they chose to run the vacuums, maintenance and repairs all throughout the day when people are there. It's quite annoying when you are working out and someone actually comes to wipe down the machine you are on ( I would have this happen regularly). It's funny now that I've joined a new gym I'm starting to see some of the LA Fitness people that I would see over the years join this gym. I don't think I'm alone in my feelings about this gym. I also appreciate the pictures that LA Fitness provided in this profile, however, they are not of this gym at all. First time in my life, I have been yelled by the staff when I trying to get my problem solved. My personal trainer suddenly quit her job without noticing me. I contacted the club and trying to change to a new trainer but they hasn't give me any call back or follow up or any kind of solution now, and it's already 3 weeks later. Great addition to the Holcomb/Crossville corridor in Roswell. Extremely clean with a nice mix of members make this an inviting facility to workout in. Even during rush hours I am able to quickly access equipment which is new and clean. Am very excited to be working with highly credentialed trainers Chris Hambie (http://linkedin.com/in/chris-hambie-96687b114) and Tim Yarbrough to reach my fitness goals. Visually pleasing that most LA fitnesses in the Area. I prefer this location over the new building in Norcross. There's always someone cleaning the gym floor and cardio equipment and weights are never scattered. However...mens restrooms toilets are always clogged. Also...the front desk attendant that's always sitting down and on her phone needs some professional ettiquet. I give this gym three out of five stars because it is one of the smaller ones I frequently go to. I have been to many LA fitness gyms around the Atlanta area from Buckhead all the way up to Snellville and this is by far the smallest one. If you can get here before rush-hour traffic starts (4:45-7:30 pm) then you do not have much to worry about because it does not get too packed. However if you do get here when it is crowded it is annoying only because the gym is smaller so it seems like everyone is in your space and I need a lot of space when I work out. read more

I have visited LA Fitness gyms all over the country (DC, MD, VA & GA) and have to say that the location at 1475 Holcomb Bridge in Roswell GA is the absolute best! While the facilities in general for this chain are consistently well kept, I really felt this one was one step above. Machines all working and in good condition, always the right amount of occupancy where you always find what you are looking for available without it being a ghost town. But what makes it the most accommodating for me is the staff. Every single person; from the people at the front desk, trainers, cleaning staff, etc all are super friendly and helpful and with a great attitude. I recently joined because of the spin classes offered on Saturday. I am a triathlete and needed some indoor time on the bike when the weather was bad. I attended a double spin class and really loved it. I went a couple of times, still new and don't know the instructor. Never made a peep in class just showed up with a friend. This past week in the middle of the second class he called me out for not working hard enough and directly compared me to the person next to me. I was shocked and mortified. I go to spin class to sweat and unwind not to be hassled. So disappointed. read more

With their stupid rules of membership, I would give them -1. They charged me even when my account was frozen. Apparently what you do online account does not take effect. Lost $160 worth of personal training sessions because I canceled it and they do not allow you to use the accumulate sessions if you cancel. Overall stupid rules. This location is getting pretty old and a bit worn down, but it makes up for it with some of the instructors. Overall, it's not as crowded as some of the other nearby gyms, but the classes can get pretty full on the weekends and after work, so you need to get there early. James has a fantastic yoga class, Terri's Body Works class is phenomenal, Dana's Pilates is great and Karen's Body Works class is such a great workout, I'm sore for days. Renee's step class used to be amazing, but for whatever reason she's completely changed her style. I used to really enjoy her class and I hope she comes around back to the way she used to teach but until then I venture to other locations on Saturdays. The customer service here is lacking a bit, one of the women at the front desk barely smiles or looks up, but I'm not there to interact with those folks, I'm there to get a good workout, so I let it be and figure it is, what it is. Plus, for the amount of money you spend on a membership, you would think they would have new or fairly new equipment. Every time I went in there would be a couple of machines down. But the worst part is how unhygienic the place is, especially the smell. They need to clean up after classes and clean the bathrooms regularly, no one wants to be standing in week-old sweat, gross! The service here is really friendly. I've been to a few around town and even though its not the newest, the staff here seems to be the best. I recently (re)signed up for a membership as I quit in the summer during daylight savings time. I signed up at $39.99 with no intro. fee, but two days later I got an e-mail that said "we want you back! No intro. fee and only $29.99! a mo." They kindly refunded/canceled my $39 membership and signed me up at cheaper rate without any issues. I appreciated that. The cardio machines get pretty busy after work between 5-6:30pm. There wasn't a wait at any time. My biggest/only complaint is that the women's shower curtains are clear plastic at the top... but not in a "can only see your shoulders up" kind of way, more like in a "i wont want to shower here before work" kind of way. read more
