Dr. Smith is located in a strip of medical offices behind Amish Hills furniture (turn at the Subway). His nurse takes careful time to go through the testing process with you, and then the Dr. comes in to review. My first testing appointment really did take 4 hours, so know that going in. Vials can be delivered around town for your shots, so other than Drs. visits if it's not convenient to you know you won't have to be there weekly. The office staff is welcoming, most insurances are taken, and office hours are extended on Mondays and Wednesdays for those wanting to go before or after work. I've recommended it to family members who are now patients. It's helped me breathe much easier!

When you make an appointment by phone, it is an automated system. That results in not scheduling appointments correctly for the issues you're having. Then you arrive and they tell you they can only see you for one of your medical issues due to insurance and need to make a separate appointment. But then if you make two separate appointments on the same day for your two different issues, they tell you they have to cancel one because insurance won't pay for two appointments. If I could just talk to a real person, this would have been avoided. They should be able to address both complaints and bill a level 5 E&M code.

They have shot hours Monday through Friday with extended hours on Thursdays.

When we made the appointment they told me what to except, what the tests consist of and what to bring if need to bring in something. The location was easy to find in the shopping plaza and plenty of parking. Check In was fairly easy for a new patient, we filled out most of the paperwork online prior to the appointment. The receptionist was super friendly at 8:30 am, she took her time explaining everything including the insurance process. After Check in, we literally didn't have time to sit down, we were taking back to a room. Our nurse (who's name I can't remember) was fabulous. She explained the appointment to me and my child. She answered and questions he had or just concerns and even made a couple of jokes. Once Dr. Pollard came in and did his assessments, we were off to the testing. The nurse did exactly as expected and tired to go as fast as she could with the needles. Needless to say I wasn't prepared enough nor exactly explained how the testing procedures went. They told me scratching but it was a bit more than that. For an 8 year old is was a bit painful. So were the next under the skin test as well. But overall we came for a purpose and learned a lot about my child's allergies. They were extremely patient with us and super understanding of my child's temperament. Dr. Polland explained the results and treatment options with ease. He didn't rush off, he answered all of our questions and concerns. He even went into depth of my child's allergies and what to except out of life. Very thankful for the referral from our pediatrician. I am grateful to have Doctors that provide treatment with care.

This is a great office. First, it is one of the best organized offices. The appointments are not…read morelong, nor is the wait time. Yet at the same time you are given a very good exam and time to ask questions. Second, Dr. Livas and his assistants Rose and Sara are very competent, very friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr. Livas especially knows how to make new patients feel welcome and old patients appreciated. We generally see Rose, which makes for consistency. Third, we've seen results; our allergy and asthma symptoms have decreased. We wholeheartedly recommend this practice.

Dr…read moreKamal is the newest Endocrinologist in the U of L Endocrinology and Diabetic Associates practice. My vote was out for maybe five minutes or less until we met her. She is young but don't hold that against her! Dr Palwasha Kamal specializes in Endocrinology and Diabetic Nutritional Care. She is an excellent communicator. While in the waiting room I listened as two older ladies left an appointment in this office. They were conversing about the doctors thoroughness and totally delightful personality. Yep, they must have just seen Dr Kamal because that is exactly our opinion of her also. She spent much more time than I'm accustomed to with providers in this office. She reviewed ALL the lab results from recent tests and previous tests to form an opinion on how well diabetes was being controlled. She made note that one portion of the blood work had not been completed and asked that we stop at the lab before leaving so she could see complete results. She noted that I had a complaint of allergic reaction to my husband's use of insulin and asked us about that. I had since seen an allergist and was able to explain to her my rare reaction (1 in 500,000) to the phenol m- cerosol preservative was causing me major adverse symptoms that ended once my husband changed to another injectable diabetes medicine. Dr Kamal also wanted to try my husband on a constant glucose monitor over his twice daily finger prick tests. When my husband said our insurance doesn't cover that she said they could perform it as a ten day trial on a loaner basis. So at her recommendation we took care of that with this visit and just needed to return the monitor after ten days. What a difference a doctor can make. Dr Kamal is FANTASTIC! She will be my husband's Endocrinologist in the future and recommends seeing him every other appointment with the alternate visit still handled by PA Melanie. We look forward to her future care and recommend her to patients needing to see an Endocrinologist. I still say she deserves ten stars!
