Like most renovations, costs ended up being higher than expected, so we had to make a few adjustments along the way and couldn't implement every single detail exactly as originally designed. That said, we followed Nada's vision as closely as possible--and it really shows. Her design direction, attention to detail, and overall aesthetic elevated our space in a way we wouldn't have been able to achieve on our own. Even with some modifications, the foundation she created carried through beautifully. The process did take some time, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. We're very happy with how everything is turning out, and you can clearly see her expertise reflected throughout our home. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth the investment.

She has also been extremely flexible about updating our shopping list as we begin to order materials and furniture. She recommended this gorgeous green silk grass cloth for the walls. When I asked her how to clean it her response was "Don't get it dirty". NO NO NO!!! My mother suggested Evolving Image. They had done decorative painting for her and it looks just like wallpaper, but you can clean it (yes, she had the same decorator). They came in, Made several samples giving me lots of options, The prices were less than wallpaper and it can be cleaned! And boy, does it look gorgeous. So now the old furniture is going to the Cure Thrift Shop on Thursday, the carpets and windows are being cleaned on Friday, and the new furniture comes on Saturday. Then we rehang pictures, and have a party!!!! Update- It's been 2 1/2 years and I still get compliments on a regular basis! The walls look like they were just done yesterday. I couldn't be happier!! I found Brooklinteriors on instagram and was originally struck by how, unlike many designers, Alicia did not adhere to a single style across all her projects, but really understood the style of each client. I checked a bunch of her references (because I was very nervous about finding someone on social media!) and they all said the same thing: you get so much more than what you're paying for when you work with Brooklinteriors. I have found that to be true a hundred times over. Alicia helped us put the finishing touches on our home renovation project--sourcing and positioning cabinet pulls, fixing lighting problems, and designing and upholstering a window seat cushion. Then we moved on the furnishings--the fun part. After creating a inspiration board, Alicia researched and presented me with many options for dining tables, couches, chairs, and more. I was struck by all the interesting, often local, and affordable companies she sourced pieces from--pillows from two sisters who are based in my neighborhood, a USA made leather ottoman with a cool table that nests on top-- she introduced me to so many brands and craftsmen that I had never heard of! She found gorgeous art and accessories made by artists that we are very happy to showcase in our home. Alicia managed the ordering, schedule, and even a couple tricky returns/refunds for everything we picked. She is meticulous and her attention to detail throughout the entire process was super-human! Throughout the project, she was respectful of our budget--never suggesting or pushing anything outrageous and often finding pieces that were priced lower than I anticipated paying. She was also very open to feedback, if a piece wasn't quite right, she wasn't married to it, and would quickly find new options for that space. The overall effect is a home that truly represents our lifestyle and aesthetic, but with more unique and interesting elements than we could have designed on our own. I'm eager to do another part of my house so Alicia can work with us again. That being said, she never really stops working on a project--she thinks of me often for little additions (like art) that we may want to add to the space and pops by whenever I have questions about what to do next. Please stay away at all cost!!!…read more My husband and I hired Joe to sand and lighten the floors of our house. He said that he could get the job done in one week and because of the type of wood in our home it would be better to go darker. Along the way there were some hiccups involving the color of the floor and how the floor would stain, but joe did stay in communication with us. HOWEVER Joe is a yes man. He will yes you the death and then when you aren't satisfied he will say "I don't know what else there is to do." I asked for an even dark finish and many of the panels were different colors as you can see in the picture. I had another independent company and one of Joe's employees come look at the floor. Both stated that some steps were missed. The floors are scratching left and right and we will definitely have to get another company to redo the floors. In the end I paid Joe over $3,000 and said the job was fine because it was too much hassle to get him to take accountability. I waited a month just to see if the color would settle in but it didn't. I called joe one last time to get advice and see if there's anything we could do. His response "this doesn't concern me anymore and of course other companies would tell you the floors look bad." While some parts of the home look beautiful other parts look absolutely awful and with all of the scratches we will definitely need to redo the floors.

It was my first time refinishing wood floors, my advice to anyone would be to cover everything with tarps to control dust from the sanding process. It's so worth it to have beautiful wood floors.
