The lady at the front desk was very helpful and I came home and tried again to file online and realized I had put my whole name where it said Last name. I love jury duty, especially if the lawyers are animated like the ones we hear on radio ads. With that said though, Im not fond of this particular court house. Sure it's pretty and well maintained, but it's huge! The larger capacity carry downsides such as parking issues, stressful security checkin processed, and being treated like cattle. The security lady who was directing the herd was rude. As we are coerced through these metal detectors, I mistakenly left my belt on. Oh boy. She gave me an attitude! "Didn't I tell you to take off your belt?!". I'm all for security, but I'm all for respect as well. I made the mistake of coming only ten minutes early for parking. I had to circle the lot a few times and wait for someone to leave before snatching a spot. I was getting worried I would be late! The check-in process with the clerk was easy, but the wait is several hours long. I'm sure there are a lot of discussions in the back rooms which prolong the process, but I see a lot of opportunities for improvement. - Reduce paper check-in process - Filter out selections ahead of time - Instead of the bailiff manually calling people out, list it out digitally or text. 200 people had to be called out one by one! If you get summoned here, come a bit early for parking, bring a jacket (it can get a bit cold) and ensure your phone is fully charged (because you'll be waiting for hours). read more

I'm not here daily anymore but I practice more often in Fort Bend now (about 50/50) and my views are mostly the same: I appreciate that the parking is free, the courthouse is clean and well kept and the staff is fantastic. read more

I got called in for jury duty a few weeks ago and all I got paid was $20 when I was there all day, I am a single mom of two my youngest is autistic and I was late picking them up from school. The Court House has several parking lots and a parking garage each with handicapped parking. Every area of the building I came into contact with was handicap accessible. I'm here today for my mother's probate hearing. I flew through security with no issues. As soon as you enter the lobby there's an information desk with a very helpful lady attending who guided me in the right direction. The building is bright and well lite with extremely wide halls. The court room numbers and names are well marked in large lettering. The hall in front of the court rooms have large, fairly comfortable benches resembling church pews. Each court room has an electronic display of name, attorney and court room number so you can confirm location and your on the docket. Restrooms are conveniently located directly across the hall from the court rooms. Court started promptly and the entire process went quickly and efficiently. I only saw a portion of the first floor in this ginormous building which is lovely, and appears, a very functional and well laid out justice center. read more

First thing first, I did not check in at the Fort Bend County Justice Court House yesterday. I visited and added the Fort Bend Tax Office which is across the street from the court house to Yelp and checked in there. For an unknown reason, Yelp merged my addition business and check in processes to court house location today. Farrah A. if you happen to read this review, please investigate and fix. Thank you. Now to the review. After paying off my auto loan back in 2014, this lazy ass finally got off the couch and went to remove the previous owner (car dealership) and lien holder (bank) from my car title. Even though the bank had released the lien, I always do this legal maneuver immediately after paying off all my vehicles. This make the process of selling or trading a vehicle and replacing a loss car title very smooth. The clerk at the tax office was very cheerful and friendly. She explained every step of the process as she was going through them. The whole thing from waiting to walking out of the building took about 25 minutes, that was fast for government work. The fee was $33, well worth it in my mind. read more

If you have jury duty or a court hearing here, at least it will be the most comfortable court house imagine able. - looks brand new - facilities are all clean and top notch - seating is very comfortable - lots of free parking (even a free 4 story parking garage) - air condition on blast Let's just say, a ton of tax payers dollars were at work for this place. As a new resident to TX I had to get my Utah vehicle registered. I got the center right before 11am to try to beat the lines. Everyone had been telling me how long I would be waiting no matter what time I went din. Below are my highlights. *The wait was only 15 minutes and there were not a lot of people around. Back in Salt Lake, you expected to take at least an hour to do anything at the DMV. * I forgot my insurance paperwork in my car outside and the lady helping me wasn't bothered at all to let me go and fetch it. She wasn't enthused, but I didn't get a bad vide, so this was a plus. *I was out of there in a jiffy! *The taxes are quite a bit lower than outside the state. I will be pleased to pay only $60.00 next year rather than the $140.00 I would have to pay in Salt Lake. By the time I left, I guess it was the lunch hour and it started to fill up. If you beat the rush, it was a pleasant experience (if there ever can be paying Uncle Sam). read more

Were you prepared to roll your eyes when you realized you were going to court today? Well, it is court. Perhaps, legal issues are not our favorite of the "issues" - whatever that means. Though, my experiences at this courthouse has been positive compared to the City of Houston. That being said, I only send positive vibes to anyone reading this review. For jury duty, security, the bailiff, clerk, and judge seemed rather easygoing. In fact, almost too easy going compared to my experiences in a courthouse - thou bet not ax (read it like it sounds rather than it's spelt ;-D). This was my first time summoned to Fort Bend County for jury duty. I loved that it was easy to just park in the garage and it's free! Your best bet is to get there around 7:45 if you want to get good parking. Security ran smoothly. Assembly room was right there in the front and the clerks are there to guide you in the right direction. The room gets packed quick. My two complaints were waiting there for 4 hours, though they say it's a good thing because cases tend to get cancelled which 4/5 cases did get cancelled when I was there. Secondly, those benches get so uncomfortable after an hour of sitting. It was horrible! Typically benches you see at church with no cushion. Anyways, bring your electronic devices and magazines cause it will be a long wait. But hopefully you won't get picked! Other than that, much better court than Harris County. I didn't feel lost at all here. read more

Had my passport application done here. Easy-breazy! They take walk-ins. Waited 5 mins. In and out in 30 mins total. Everyone was nice, facility was clean. Great experience! Call for hours and payment forms. They only take check or money order. They are closed for lunch too. read more
