I went today thinking I would get a head start by arriving at 7:30 since they open at 8. I should have been there an hour or two earlier. It was chaotic with no one to direct people. They have all kinds of things going on there including Court, marriages, vehicle title and registration. I was there to transfer title and register my vehicle. There were people in line inside the front of the building only to find out the real line was wrapping around the building outside. That started a big argument over which group was actually there first. There should have been someone to manage this. After waiting in the line for about 2 hours I finally got inside and was able to sit down. I thought I was going to pass out. When my number finally was called, the nicest man, James, helped me. He had a sign at his window saying he was a new employee in training. He made my experience seamless and even allowed me to make a call and have a document emailed over. He made my experience great because I got what I need accomplished. I really appreciate him for his kindness, patience, and assistance. read more

Outdated process. People there are okay and just trying to do their job, but the process itself is archaic. Title registrations are required to be appointment only since Covid. If not you will be kicked out. Due to sheer numbers they try to spread them out, but ultimately the walk ins will still make you wait so best to just pick an 8am appointment time to be first and out as fast as possible. At Harris County Clay Rd Courthouse. Citizens were forced to stand for 2 hrs in 93 degree. 9 months pregnant just being released from the hospital I sat there having contractions with no accommodations. Once the fire marshall and other local offices were called, clerk supervisor was heard telling the bailiff she would not be dismissing tickets for several because she was upset about the call to the fire marshall by another citizen. Bailiff recommended we call local offices as his request to the court have fallen on deaf ears. The DA of the courthouse became rude to the point she pushed past me when I requested her name. I have video footage and contact info for others who were present. This is a daily occurrence when court is held. read more

Fucking ass. Cannot even give any other words. First of all, it says closes at 5, but no. You have to be there BEFORE 4:30 because they close their court rooms at 4:30. I went to go TRY to get my registration renewed and got there to the court room doors at 4:29, the lady looked at me, looked at her phone, and then ignored me. If I could give 0 ratings , I would. It's so unorganized. No one is even inside at the front to help, no one around like a clerk to tell you which room to go to or where, so have fun figuring it out for the first time, which is WHY I GOT TO THE DOORS AT 4:29 BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO NAVIGATE YOURSELF THROUGH A COURTHOUSE. Walking into this place is intimidating. I felt under arrest when I only went to update a DBA. You would think that a courthouse that takes care of the needs of so many people for years would be more organized and heavily staffed. However its the age old adage about county employees that is still at work here. I was in and out in no time, even though the person that helped me had no personality at all. I had better conversations talking to a mannequin in JCPenny's. Parking is a nightmare and the building looks like a meteor was falling and detoured itself to hit a cleaner spot. When you walk in you walk right into an unorganized line. It's more like walking into a crowd of pissed off people. It was very clear that cops only pull over people who look suspect, cause the entire crowd was in line for traffic court. (Note to self, make sure your car looks clean at all times. Leave the factory wheels on and never drop your vehicle nor put gold anywhere. Never slam on your brakes when a cop see's you speeding just ease to a slower speed. Never get an Expedition or Navigator that's older than 2 years. And always give to the 100 club. Well forget that.. do what you want and give to the 100 club....you will never get stopped again.) I've used this location twice in the last month and although the wait was long the first time the ladies working here are excellent. I had a little bit of a special case and both times I was there I was helped in a friendly and efficient way. I have a slight disability that makes it hard for me to stand and the staff here gave me special help without even being told about my condition. This place is always busy so be prepared. read more

This place has really come a long way from going to the tax office back in the day. Gone are the long lines and waiting for 3-4 hours. They have efficiently found a way to get people in and out of this place in a timely manner and I am so happy about it. My hubby bought me a little cash car to do my personal shopping deliveries in and I need to get it registered. I was in and out in less than 30 mins. What a relief that someone was able to come up with a system to get people in and out of this place so we can get on with our busy lives. read more

Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from I was out within 20 minutes of being there to get plates and sticker for my vehicle.

The whole organization and administration of this location is completely disorganized nobody understands where to stand in line in those with an appointment or without an appointment or allowed to cut in line if you are the chosen ones. I have a disability and have it recorded with a handicap placard with the county they refused to give me my plates today because I had already done a transaction for my sticker today. The middle eastern lady who thinks she is the boss hog there likes to talk down to folks as does the other Karen at desk 13. That's ok, folks just talked down right back to them. Saw Karen at 13 openly argue and start something with a customer just for asking a question. People don't seem to comprehend that it doesn't take the courthouse to do a title transfer. C'mon folks there are title transfer stores near you I guarantee it and the time frame will be the same or quicker . I told several after they were told they needed an appointment. I will never use the court to do my transfers I have a guy who does em quick and better. They are not Ada complaint and I will be emailing Ada about this. Those with walkers may or may not be allowed to sit down. Those like me that are young and disabled are made to stand until almost collapse . Drive the speed limit when passing the courthouse. There's sometimes cops standing at the edge of the driveway with the radar gun ready to give passing cars speeding tickets. Most people come here to get that little blue registration sticker on their car or new plates. To do that, make sure you have what you need before waiting hours. You will need: Your car insurance & your driver's license. If the car is not in your name as long as the title owner and your name are both on the insurance, you can still get the paperwork/sticker for your car. You can pay with cash, check, or card. But if you pay with a credit card you will be charged extra fees for processing. My fee was $1.88. I finally walked out with the registration sticker and new plates for the car about 2 hours later. read more

Go as early as you can.. After 1 pm the employees are overworked and jaded. It depends on what time you get there. Like I said if you get there after 1, you are in for lots of attitude and the run around. After all it is up to the clerk whether or not you leave quickly and effortlessly. For example, I went to renew my registration sticker and the clerk didn't even ask me for my proof of insurance. However, after 1pm on another occasion I was treated like an enemy of the state and was turned away because my paperwork "looked" fraudulent. This place is always over-crowded. It's fairly insane. If this building was doubled in size and the staff increased the place would still be crowded. We can send men to the moon but we can't make getting registration a painless task that doesn't take hours? I past the renew period so i'm forced to go in. (Past it because Im not using the vehicle.) This is the friendliest courthouse I have been. No or little lines. I had a defective headlamp ticket. I am busy with school and work, so I pay everything online. They called me that defensive driving does not waive my ticket since it's not a moving violation. They said they can get it waived as long as I show proof that I fixed my headlamp. They refund my payment for defensive driving and postpone my court date 5 months later. I missed it but I was still able to waive the ticket. Awesome customer service! read more

I needed to get the registration sticker and license plates for my car and I was told this would be the closest to go from where I'm located. I did get here as early as I could and probably arrived around 8:30AM or so in the morning. The parking lot wasn't too full and was able to find a spot near the entrance. It didn't look busy at all inside and no line for vehicle registration. I thought it was going to be a bigger hassle that it actually was since I'm out-of-state.It was fairly painless and the lady behind the counter was nice. She told which part of the forms had missing info. I paid my fees and was in and out fairly quickly. I was surprised I left with the registration sticker and license plates in hand. I'm not used to this as in California I would probably have to wait a few weeks for the car registration to arrive and same amount of time for the license plates to arrive if I bought a car. read more

This place is always over crowded and the line moves so slow. They always need proof of insurance or company affiliation which would be convenient to show on your phone, but no they can't look at your phone. Instead you have to leave to go get proof, even though police and state troopers are allowed to look at your phone. Or you can fax it where their crappy fax machines might work every now and then. read more

This was the third time I had to go to the courthouse over about five years. Even though you wait in long hours with one hour or longer waiting time the clerks are always helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, my experience on my last visit was the worse. I was very patient and waited approximately one hour in line. When I finally got to the front of the line I was very excited. So when a window opened I walked up to it. I was never so humiliated when the lady told me she did not say next in line and that I could just go back in line because she was going to take care of someone else. It would not have been so bad if she was polite about it. Very, very rude. It just brought a very negative experience for me. I guess I can only hope her attitude got better as the day went on. My best advice is: never go to the window unless the lady says, "Next." read more
