Dad seemed to love the beer Hoppy Hoppy Joy Joy and he's very picky about IPAs. VERY PICKY Also Dad was happy the floor was immaculately clean so he didn't have to watch me every second while he enjoyed his spaghetti from next door (I got nothing so I can't tell you how good it was though there nothing left so...) So I found myself at this brewery for a special bbq event and I previously left a review for that food event specifically-now let's just talk about this brewery specifically. This brewery is located in Rancho Cordova in the same shopping center as Nimbus Winery.Its a very big shopping center with many tenants,so very busy but on the plus side,lots of parking options available in the shopping center. Once we walked by the Girl Scouts selling their cookies outside the brewery,we walked into a pretty large warehouse like room and a very long single line to place drink orders at the bar.The lines move pretty quick though,probably took about 12 minutes to get my order placed and drink in hand. They have many award winning beers available but this night I went with one of their Triple IPAs and the wife went with a lager.I found the Triple IPA to be one of the best Triples I've had just about anywhere,it was so tasty and heavy and when I finished it I really felt it-that beer packed a punch-I had two of them.I ended up trying my wife's lager and it tasted pretty good as well-if you like lagers then this one works out well.The Triple IPA was named Rainbows Ponies and was 11% ABV and the lager was named Lake Girl Lager and was 4.7% ABV. The brewery itself is super family friendly-pet friendly for sure as many doggies were in there.They had a band playing in one corner of the brewery,though the chatter in that brewery was pretty loud so could barely make out what he was singing. They sell many canned beers that are available for take home-that's one thing I regret not doing-but I guess that gives me a reason to go back sooner rather than later.They also do have non-alcoholic beer available for those who just enjoy the taste of beer but don't drink alcohol. Overall I think this is a top notch brewery and one I would recommend visiting-they have top caliber beer and offer a family friendly environment and the location is pretty good with decent restaurants in the area along with activities like miniature golf and escape rooms that are fun for the entire family. read more

We actually took a mushroom cultivation class year that they hosted. The space is open with lots of seating available. They have trivia which I'm looking forward to going back and having some fun. The only thing that was kind of a bummer was they don't have any cider. They do have a seltzer, but for the gluten-free people like myself, a good cider is a must have when everyone else is enjoying a beer. Oh well, still going to go back and have fun! read more

I always like coming here to grab a drink either with friends or if I'm in the area stopping by somewhere close by to eat. I really love how there's plenty of seating, a wide variety of beer and how nice the employees are. I was recently here with a group of friends and tried one of their sours as we were waiting for our reservation at a restaurant nearby. The inside was well kept. I really like all the decorations. Invited some friends who live in El Dorado Hills to join us for a beer and Fort Rock is a great place to hang out and enjoy a beer. They have a good selection and we can bring our dog. During the hot weather this is important for us. You can bring your own food or order food when there is a food truck. The staff are very nice and helpful with recommendations. Barely stayed here but this is definitely a place id love. It was a random stop over as I've been hunting down some delicious beer. Dog friendly Always a bonus. Staff was amazing. They were patient and gave us samples as well as entertained out questions. We came down for one thing. Copa coblama mango fruit smoothie ale. Wouldve never guessed id enjoy a beer as much as I love this one. They also had an interesting coffee stout on tap. No cans though. I miss California beers and their sister alcoholic beverages. That being said, I was recommended a sour and loved it, super fruit-forward! We also had the pleasure of receiving a small tour of the process by the proprieter himself. I asked many questions, it just seemed so cool plus it was eveident that he wanted the group to learn and not just be lectured at. Beer is not my first choice so I was happy to see the other options including seltzers. Visited on a weekday and it was very quiet. Service was excellent, friendly and willing to answer questions about their beer selection. Tried a beer flight so we could get an idea of the beer quality. Beer ranged from good to very good, with a wide selection to fit just about any taste. Was able to bring our dog inside, so that made us feel very welcome. My favorite beer was the Foggy Goggles Double IPA. read more

I came here to get a few beers with my boys and it sucked. Beers are good but the customer service is terrible. I bought two beers, one for me and one for my friend, and the worker gave me so much attitude. It didn't really seem like he wanted to serve me. Then he served a regular and his face lit up so fast, he was smiling and everything, but with me, he mean mugged me so bad. I've came here 3-4 times now, and each time the service was bad. I would not recommend. You're better off going to logoff or burning barrel bc the service here sucks. read more

An awesome new brewery with a great brown ale! Fort Rock his a spacious seating area with an open feel to it. They have a great selection of food and beer. Obviously, I tried the brown ale which was delicious. I also enjoyed the pizza which was served hot with some nice toppings. Awesome place to get a beer and hangout..Lots of cool seating if you need low table that got that need high tables got that..need to watch sports they got TV's dart and a few video games. The brewery serves pint as well as a massive cup..tons of beers on tap..Tons of beers in bottles..They have shirts and other cool stuff too..The parking outside is great..and it had a food truck outside it was a hot wing truck..yum..This place is clean and super cool definitely trendy..It has special seat as well couches and loungers..The bathroom is clean too because after a few pints you may need to visit there.. read more

Definitely one of the best breweries in Rancho. Great atmosphere, wide-open space. I love all the different labels. So far my wife and I favorite beer is the hoppy hoppy joy joy. I do wish some of the beers would stick around for longer than a couple months, but it does force you to continue to come back And try new things. While they don't serve food inside the brewery. There are plenty of food options at the spaghetti factory, or one of the random food truck. They have swinging by. Definitely going to be a staple in my beer fridge read more

Been here a few times since they opened, we no longer live in Rancho Cordova so its a trip over here. Nice place with tons of parking and its super convenient to get too. The place is clean and has plenty of places to sit and games to play. I appreciate that you can order food from the nearby eateries which makes it a nice place to hang out. As for the beer: lines are always SUPER long though to order. And these notes are from a visit back in 2018, not our most recent visit. Pilsner- Nice clean light beer, with ample flavor Lager- Ok, not a huge fan and the Pilsner had more flavor Blonde- Good flavor, refreshing and light, only blonde I've had that I've really been a fan of so good over all Marzen/Oktoberfest- pretty good beer, nice and clean easy to drink, over all a well done Marzen style beer Pale Ale- Well balanced, right amount of happiness, easy to drink, very good Pale Ale Rancho Brut IPA- very tasty! Very easy to drink and smooth IP, refreshing with low bitterness Hazy Hop- really tasty, but different. I am not typically a huge IPA fan but I like this and the Rancho Brut. Starfish- another easy to drink IPA, which I appreciate, semi-sweet and not overly hopppy Foggy Goggles- there's a pattern here, their IPA's are easy to drink but I did notice that they all kind of blended together, none stood out significantly. Brown- Very good! This dark beer loving girl was a huge fan of those one. Toasty and nutty flavors. Overall, good place but nothing that makes me feel I need to rush here. If you're an IPA or lighter beer drinker specifically this is probably the place for you. read more

I loved mine and tried Patagonia liked that too(husband didn't care for it though) Waitress double charged us for our drinks and Fort Rock beer glass so we did a charge back on our credit card. hi-ya! I really really enjoy the "Hop Goblin" it's a hazy beer, but not really hazy. I think the growler is like $21 bucks, but a good priced for a good buzz. You can get food from old spaghetti factory, and drink up. The atmosphere is great. I really think the best spots are the couches in front of the fridge full of canned alcohol and a wide screen TV. Prices are reasonable, staff are friendly and ambience top notch. read more

Visited recently and had a bad experience. So we had our well behaved and LEASHED dog with us. An employee looked like he was working on some equipment and he had a dog (some type of cattle dog) off leash that was wandering around a bit and not being supervised. Well as we simply tried to walk past the dog, it snarled and lunged at our dog and scared the crap out of all of us! Luckily I pulled my dog away quickly and she was not bitten. The worker yelled at the dog after he heard the commotion and it ran back to him, but not even any sort of acknowledgment or apology. I'm not sure why this dog, which is obviously not good with other dogs, was allowed to be wandering around like that when customers are allowed to bring dogs into the brewery. Not a great experience for my dog or for us. read more

Randomly found FORT ROCK BREWING during our stay in Rancho Cordova, conveniently located a mile or two east of the Holiday Inn where we stayed in the industrial area. Great beer, TV 's, awesome bar area, plenty of parking, next to the Spaghetti Factory and Nimbus Winery, darts, lounge areas in a very open industrial style floor plan. Nice space inside the Nimbus Winery shopping center. Tall tables and stools and cool space to enjoy while enjoying the brews on tap. I sampled the stout and the märzen beers. They were good, but on a hot, hot day like yesterday, the tasty pilsner was what I chose. This place has appetizers that are made by the Old Spaghetti Factory. They'll take your order and run it over when it's ready. They are open daily around lunchtime and stay open until later evening. read more
