Car has broken down and I needed to take it into the shop. Got my AAA card out and they sent out somebody from Fortes to jump my car. It was not an easy jump but after a lot of effort, he got it to work. Really nice guy, very friendly and very helpful. I believe it was Miguel? Unfortunately soon after he left, the car died as I had some throttle actuator issues which made the car idle rough, and probably taxed the alternator pretty heavily. Ended up with a dead battery in my X5 on the wharf in San Francisco last week and called AAA, so they sent us Superman! Juan from Fortes Brothers shows up less than 10 minutes later and immediately demonstrates "He's the man!" My mother was involved in a serious car accident and Fortes Brothers towed her car from the scene. They stored the vehicle for seven days, then a tow company hired by my mother's insurer picked up the car and paid Fortes Brothers their towing and storage fees. Everything was handled smoothly and everyone was paid, so it made no sense when my mother received a letter from Fortes Brothers, dated four days AFTER the vehicle was removed from their lot, stating fees that went beyond the time they stored the vehicle and threatening her with a lien and lawsuit if they were not paid. I called my mother's insurer and told the agent about the letter. The insurer called Fortes Brothers. The agent spoke to Travis, who said, "It isn't valid. Disregard the letter." This was a scary letter that sent my mother's blood pressure through the roof. Fortes Brothers should check their records and make sure they still have a vehicle in their possession before calculating fees and sending letters. The distress they caused someone who is already traumatized by an accident is inexcusable. read more

Fortes worked hand in hand with a crooked Mountain View off duty cop, who literally STOLE my expensive Mercedes even though it was NOT parked illegally...it was 3 am and the tow truck driver was also paid by the cop. I was 80 years old at the time and NO ONE - not the Chief of Police in MV, not any State Senator, and certainly not 'pretty boy' CA Governor! I later was told by an insider that the woman running a shelter/ rest home nearby was the culprit and another (decent) MV police officer verified this. 25k auto simply stolen by an evil person who has MV cops on her payroll...I know a great deal more today than I did seven years ago when this happened but it still never got me my car back. I love raining, but not at this rate 3 weeks non stop raining. What a bad luck to have two flat tires while on freeway and under heavy rain. I called AAA to have my car tow back to my house in San Francisco(40 miles away). I was told the soonest schedule is 240mins away. 40min after I called, they finally found another driver and told me a driver would be 40min away. What a long wait, finally they assigned Forte Brother to tow my car. I saw the tracking map that they were having difficulty to locate me and circircling around. But they never call me, and they don't pick up the phone. Finally they arrived but told me they couldn't tow to San Francisco because it's too far. My battery died while I was out of town, last night I called AAA - Joshua from Fortes came out and, in addition to charging the battery explained why the fairly new battery died so quickly- and how I could prevent it in the future. This car should be on its first battery, this is the second and it's died .. 3 times in less than a year. Joshua explained it's a common problem in SF where people don't drive their cars often enough (at least twice/week at 2000 RPMs. He gave me great information in a way I can understand, and told me how to solve the problem- That is above and beyond what the other 6 plus technicians over three years have told me.
