Crab sticks with hard plastic cooked inside
Robert U.

I just ordered crab sticks and found hard plastic cooked inside one of them. I called the restaurant to inform them and was hung up on. I went to the restaurant for a refund and was told that I needed to contact Eat24/Yelp for my refund. They asked if we wanted more and offered no apologies. I will never be ordering from this restaurant again.

Reflecting back on my visits to Grand China, I'm reminded of a time stretching from the 1990s…read morethrough the 2010's. This restaurant was a staple whenever I was in town and looking for a place to go with friends. There was something timeless about it--a mix of the familiar and a little bit of adventure--that made it a fantastic spot to spend a lunch The location itself was perfect: tucked in a convenient part of town, easy to find, and just friendly enough to not be too close in relation, yet not too large a chain. Whether it was a casual lunch after school or a weekend gathering with friends after a game of cloud-of-dust football, Grand China always delivered a comfortable and welcoming environment. I remember feeling excited walking in, greeted by the soft touch of the counter-woman and the gentle hum of conversation with those I knew. The food got by in a nice manner. The menu offered a nice variety of classic dishes. I'll never forget the first time I learned to use chopsticks here. It was a humorous, slightly clumsy experience at first, but the counter-lady was patient and encouraging, turning what could have been frustrating into a fun little challenge. By the end of the meal, I was able to maneuver them with surprising confidence--a small personal victory that made the meal even more enjoyable at the young age of 10. The food was quick to be cooked, though there were occasional slow moments during peak hours, which is why I give four stars instead of five, as well as this not being a recent visit. Still, the staff were always friendly, and the occasional delay never diminished the overall experience at my young age. In all, Grand China was more than just a place to eat; it was a social hub, a place to grab a quick meal with friends, and even learn a new skill. Thinking back on those visits, it's clear why it held such a special place in my memories of town over those years.

I didn't get a call regarding the driver being out there. Only from the establishment saying I didn't answer my phone. No food was placed in my door. I call them back, and was told it was their error. The driver shows up with my food but takes the receipt why ? I started to eat my food, I thought that he may given my food to the wrong house went back and got it. I should have told him to take that food back! I had and incident before. Must be the same driver that claimed I didn't answer my phone. He left my food 2 doors over from my house.

As an Asian Californian, I will confirm this restaurant has unique Shanghai dishes worth exploring…read moreand has new items! Working late, I came to dine in around 10 PM and had fast delivery of everything I ordered. The food had creative tastes compared to the many traditional dumplings I have had in San Gabriel Valley. The dishes are fresh and rightfully cooked whether steamed or fried! The decor is slightly fancy enough for romance but contemporary for group gatherings. I had no problem with the servers and was grateful for military discount! I would defiantly come back to try the other options.

We ordered a little of everything from their pork dumplings which were really delicious especially with the vinegar sauce, we ordered spring rolled which came with a mild spicy and sweet sauce which was one of my favorites. The wonton soup was one of my favorites too with a unique flavor combination I don't know how to describe it but it was so good. We ordered mango and lyche green tea and it was so fresh with a fresh lime on top and came in a convenient to go cup. I was so looking forward to this drink and it did not disappoint. This is my favorite drink now. I don't know how I never knew about this place but we will be back all the time now.

You know if it has a note about reservations on a Chinese Restaurant it must be good! It was early so we were able to be seating @ 5:30 but by 6:15 the place was almost full. Our waitress quickly gave us menus and water was served. Their menu wasn't an American traditional menu, with lamb, tripe, pork belly, intestine, and kidneys but they did serve common proteins also. We ordered fried dumplings and spring rolls while we paroozed the menu for dinner items. They came quick and take the roof off your mouth hot!! We ordered dinner, I had the dry pot style lamb 7 spice level out of 10, my dining partner salt & pepper chicken. My dry pot came quick, hot and so tasty. Waited 10 mins and we both started eating it. No sign of other dish. Couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally after another 5 mins, who looked like the owner asked what was wrong & went to check for missing dish. It arrived 10 mins later on a bed of lettuce No pepper & onion, very bland. We would go again possibly if we were in the area telling of the wait time as to not happen again hopefully & chose wisely - definitely a sauce
