The Good: Their General Tso's is killer good. White meat, tangy sauce and a large portion. The Not As Good: While they are on most delivery services, some of the staples I like are not. I been using China King for a long time. Always had a pleasant experience, and food was good for what it is. But, today will be the last time I will ever order from them. While the food was decent, I ordered a 2L bottle of Pepsi for the meal. They didnt have any Pepsi when I came in to pick up my order. When I told the woman at the counter there isn't any Pepsi, she says just grab Coke. I dont care for Coke, and ask for a refund. The man behind her said take 4 cans for the Pepsi. But I need 6 cans to to be equivalent for the 2L bottle I bought. The woman was arguing that I can only have 4 cans. I said, I need six cans to make it equal to the mount of liquid purchased (64oz; 4 cans would only be 48oz and I would be paying more for less). They couldnt understand what I was trying to do. I asked for a refund and the woman laughed at me. Causing another customer to make Jabs at the situation, causing more problems. It was a total embarrassment, and now I will be going to China Cook in Somerdale. Their food is far superior, and have amazing customer service. read more

I have been ordering weekly delivery through the pandemic. It's always good, quick and the selection is huge. I haven't had a bad meal.

We live two blocks from the China King. Tonight was a nightmare. We ordered online at 5:30. 40 minutes go by (it's often busy on Friday night) so we call. They said the food was on the way & that they were very busy. We call again in 45 minutes. "Oh yes, we are very busy, but I promise the driver is on the way". We finally gave up and made dinner. Then we called again, at the 3-hour mark (nobody had tried to call us back, btw). Turns out the never even got our online order. Never saw it. They were lying when we called. I get that people make mistakes. Own those mistakes. Just tell us what happened. We are forgiving people. But I can't deal with a business that lies. read more

Fried rice was very good - I forgot to say no peas/carrots & I didn't even mind eating them. I had the eggplant w. Garlic sauce combo platter. YUMMMMMO! I hate traditional stir- fry veggies- mini corn, bell peppers, etc. The sauce was so good it they were cooked to such perfection- ate it UP! Huge portions also. Con- my dish was supposed to be "happy family" but I only got chicken. But even with that-it was so good- I won't deduct a star. We will probably be back in a few days. lol. We have been going to another place in town for years and after the debacle on Christmas Day, I wanted to find another place to order from. Plus, their food was just getting to be too greasy and salty. Found China King and we were very happy with the fact that they delivered very quickly and the food was very good. I loved that the fried rice was not heavy and greasy with two pieces of shrimp, it was lighter and had a load of shrimp in it. Food is decent for takeout Chinese food. However, I ordered Shrimp Chow Mein and what I received was an order of 5 small shrimp on a bed of cooked lettuce and onions. No noodles. I called and told them that they gave me the wrong order because the dish I received had no noodles. The young guy came back and told me that only Lo Mein comes with noodles. Chow Mein is just vegetables. This confused me because in my 28 years of eating Chinese food, both Lo Mein and Chow Mein have always come with noodles, one soft and noodley and the other crispy. The kid insisted that Chow Mein does not include noodles. Maybe since they are the China King, they know better than all other Chinese takeout places. It remains a mystery to me. China King has become our go-to Friday takeout spot. Does delivery take 2+ hours? Yes. We have definitely learned like a lot of posters that the food will not arrive quickly, but we normally give plenty of time (order online before 4 if you want delivery around 6) so that we have the whole night to spend with the delicious food when it arrives. So far, we haven't had anything we didn't like. The beef and broccoli is the top order in our house. I like to change my order here and there: eggplant and chicken is a great classic, moo goo gai is fantastic if you're looking for a mild dish, the chow fun's are all awesome. Don't even get me started on the deliciousness of the Thai fried rice. Be warned: it's got a kick but the sweet pineapple makes it a killer combination. Also: the steamed dumplings are top notch! There are lots of fancy restaurants and boutiques around, and simple, unassuming China King is on the corner at the end of the row of stores. Parking on Haddon Avenue is a problem, unless I'm missing a municipal parking lot somewhere. (I think the parking lot across the street from China King is for a bank but on Saturday evening, that lot too was full.) Even though this is a takeout place, they do have quite a number of tables. We chose to sit by the window but you can also use the dining area on the inside behind the partition. The big surprise about this Chinese takeout is they make Thai food too. The other surprise is their Thai coconut curry is actually quite good, not weak or watered down like it is at some other places. As a plus, their fried rice is also not the mediocre yellow rice I've seen at some Chinese takeouts. So gold stars all around! If there's a solution to the parking problem, this place would be perfect. read more

I'm highly disappointed in my meal from China King. I ordered the general tso's Tofu online and it arrived with approximately 7 or so pieces of tofu. This was a tofu and rice meal apparently, not only was the tofu portion extremely small but the rice was pork fried rice.... within a TOFU order...! I have never been given pork fried rice without specifically ordering it and especially not within a tofu order.
