I never knew this place existed. I have been coming to this plaza for years. The decor in this place is really cool. They also have a robot that helps the waiters with orders. Possibly due to user error I ordered this steak noodle dish. The noodles weren't done and they were crispy. I also felt it lacked in taste. Tried out Nan Xiang in New Jersey while after checking out an Hmart. We got the pork and truffle soup dumplings, pan fried crabmeat and pork buns, wontons in spicy peanut sauce, rice cakes with seafood, scallion pancake with sliced beef, and dry scallion oil noodles. The soup dumplings had a lot of soup and the truffle one was actually very rich in truffle flavor. The pan fried buns were ok, they weren't fried as much as I would've liked at the bottom. I'm not used to spicy wontons in a peanut sauce, I like the chili oil version more. The rice cakes sadly were pretty bland, and the scallion oil noodles were pretty weak on flavor too. Wow, Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings is in a hoppin' shopping center just over the bridge from Philly. Service was quick and friendly and diners flew in/out in groups of varying sizes. Enjoyed being able to see the dumplings being made through the windows toward the back of the dining room. We shared a number of items, including the special Spicy Beef Soup Dumplings, the traditional Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, the Pan-fried Crispy Noodles with Vegetables, the Scallion Pancakes, the Cucumber Salad with Garlic, and Pan-fried Pork Dumplings. As an Asian Californian, I will confirm this restaurant has unique Shanghai dishes worth exploring and has new items! Working late, I came to dine in around 10 PM and had fast delivery of everything I ordered. The food had creative tastes compared to the many traditional dumplings I have had in San Gabriel Valley. The dishes are fresh and rightfully cooked whether steamed or fried! The decor is slightly fancy enough for romance but contemporary for group gatherings. I decided to stop in today for lunch, it was my first time here and this is my new favorite spot, I love everything from the atmosphere to the nice service we received, they were very attentive. We ordered a little of everything from their pork dumplings which were really delicious especially with the vinegar sauce, we ordered spring rolled which came with a mild spicy and sweet sauce which was one of my favorites. The wonton soup was one of my favorites too with a unique flavor combination I don't know how to describe it but it was so good. Since there is no DTF in the East Coast, this is the best alternate hands down. The entire dining experience is wonderful, from the decor, service and food that I can see how it earned its Michelin recommended status. You can also see them making the dumplings fresh in house. There was a 5 minute wait even at 3pm on a Saturday, so be prepared if coming on the weekend. Highlights are definitely the soup dumplings, specifically the gourd/shrimp/pork one. The umami taste of the gourd is such a good pairing with the shrimp and pork. These soup dumplings are big, causing the dough to need to be thicker (in comparison to DTF) so that it can hold the weight of the soup. Would skip the fried rice though as it's missing the wok hei. So, wife and I came across this spot via IG and decided to give it a try to see the hype. Let's say, it wasn't disappointing at all. I was disappointed because they were out of cucumber and the green beans. We were there for lunch and those dishes were already sold out. They have special menu in addition to the regular one. I picked osmanthus honey chicken. The waiter was letting us know that it would take 20 minutes to prepare. It worth the wait. It's not overly sweet and not dry. I highly recommend it. The Taiwanese ribs are ok, there's some meat but a bit dry. The sweet sauce is enjoyable. It reminds me of barbecue sauce. I love the robot that brings out the orders. Who doesn't love a Michelin recommended restaurant? This place is hidden within the same shopping center as Trader Joe's and Cheesecake Factory, but is not to be missed! Their menu is quite a bit smaller than your average Dim Sum place, but eveything they have they do extremely well-- and all of the dumplings are made as you order (and you can see the guys working right behind the window!) First there is Din Tai Fung -- the undisputed global icon, technically flawless, universally beloved) whom I would place in the Michael Jackson tier. Kung Fu Kitchen, originating out of Flushing and now expanding into Boston and Florida, I would liken to the Justin Timberlake tier. Clearly it knows what it is doing even if it's not aiming for absolute perfection. Located in a big shopping plaza with plenty of parking . Nan Xiang itself is fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating and have tables for big groups as well . The food here is honestly not super expensive which I was surprised them being Michelin reviewed and all ! First it's really pretty in there the red touches everywhere honestly gives it such a nice vibe in there . Me and my bf got seated right away and were tended to quickly with water and I asked for jasmine tea which came out right away . We already knew what we wanted since I don't eat pork so went with the chicken soup dumplings , pan fried beef dumplings , beef noodles ... OMG everything was sooooo good ! We ate it up ! I can't even deal with how awesome the service was here. We were a party of 9 with 5 being kids and 4 adults. We were seated right away and immediately after placing our large order, the food came out within 10 minutes - FRESH AND HOT. Service was obviously amazing - servers came to frequently refill waters and staff provided extra napkins without having to ask- especially seeing 4 toddlers at the table. The place was big and clean with a large window in the back that was a looking glass into the kitchen so you can see the talent behind the making of your soup dumplings. All the food we had was phenomenal. Every dish had its appropriate flavors. My favorite dish of the night with the exception of the soup dumpling was their sweet fish filet. The fish couldn't have tasted more fresh and had the right crunchiness to it, even though it was drenched in sauce ( not in an overbearing kinda way). Their scallion pancakes was hot and crunchy and their pan friend pork buns was perfectly made without the dough being too thick that it overpowered the meat inside. Best soup dumplings I have ever had! The unique, strong flavors were delicious to try and unique to other soup dumpling restaurants, as well as the great quality. We had the truffle pork and gourd luffa soup dumplings. The truffle and pork were the standout, we loved them the most. Gourd luffa was more veggies than meat but in a delicious way that we also enjoyed. We also tried some appetizers: scallion pancakes, cucumber salad, and the turnip and ham dish. Scallion pancakes were great and unique, cucumber salad was good, but the turnip and ham dish was strange and not what we were expecting (a little too flavorless and like a bun). On our way to Atlantic City and decided to stop by the Costco in Cherry Hill. Found Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings on Yelp and decided to give it a try since I have been to the branch in Flushing and found it very good. This location is really nice, spacious and elegantly decorated. The wait staff was really friendly and helpful; and there were enough people working that it wasn't hard to flag down someone if needed. We ordered their signature Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Shanghai Stir-Fried Udon, and Sauteed String Bean with Garlic. Food came out very efficiently; everything was delicious! The dumplings came out piping hot with a lot of tasty juices inside. The noodle soup came with six nice pieces of beef shank which were tender and flavorful. The stir-fried udon was very tasty. I liked that both noodle dishes came with Shanghainess bok choy also. The string bean quality was excellent and was perfectly cooked. At the back of the restaurant is their kitchen and there is a glass window that showcases their dumpling chefs, eight of them! My friend recommended Nan Xiang to me in Flushing, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go to that location when I was there because it was too busy. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it is a chain and they had one in Cherry Hill and it wasn't too crowded when we went (Sunday ~1:20pm). We ordered the braised beef noodle soup, rice cake with meat, and the original and crab soup dumplings. I preferred the original dumplings more. These soups dumplings are the largest I've ever seen (way bigger than Din Tai Fung) and the spoon they gave us was perfect. The beef noodle soup was okay but not the best I've had before so I would skip it next time. It also only had three slices of beef. I also ordered the mango & lychee green tea and it was delicious! having just been to taiwan last month, i was on the hunt for a delicious xiao long bao (XLB). this place exceeded my expectations! the size of the xlb here is very good, it holds so much soup in the dumpling. i mix together the sauces of the chili oil, vinegar, and soy sauce with a bit of the provided ginger and carefully land the xlb onto the sauce, and take a small bite from the top to suck out some of the soup, then take a huge bite of the whole thing when the temperature is right. i found this dumpling to be so amazing, with a chewy skin... you could see them being made fresh in the little window in the back! for a side, we absolutely loved the bok choy in garlic sauce. it was cooked in chicken broth or something i believe, with a light flavor and nicely cooked pieces of mild garlic. the bok choy had a great texture. this place boasts a michelin star and i can see why they have it in the first place -- a commitment to quality and great flavor! xlb here is amazing,, will have to come once more before i leave home for the west coast :} read more

I came around 11:30 AM on a Saturday and there weren't that many people there. I was able to be seated immediately and my server was so attentive (as well as the rest of the staff here), they took such good care of me! I had the chicken & shrimp siu mai, which was the absolute favorite, it had so much flavor and it needed no help from soy sauce or the chili oil, it was a standout dish for me. I also had the nan xiang soup dumplings, which were incredibly juicy and flavorful. I will admit there was a little too much dough to meat ratio, but probably to hold all that soup! Finally, I had the boiled shrimp, pork and chive dumplings. Again, incredible flavor and taste. I will say here that the dough to meat ratio was off, the dough was incredibly thick. That being said, you can tell it's homemade by the way it's made and the way it tastes. The dough tastes exactly like my dad's dumplings! The ube dessert dumplings, however, left much to be desired -- just doughy and bland. The service wasn't great, though.
