Ok let me start by saying I LOOOVVEEE me some Asian bakery goods!! That is like my calling!!! So when I Yelped bakeries in the vicinity of my work and came across this oh I was on that so quick! In the car and zoom zoom. It is located right off Waters onto Armenia in a small Asian type plaza. They had advertised boba tea but I was disappointed that they no longer have it. The staff member was extremely sweet, described the goods to us for the ones we were not familiar with. They seemed to be out of a lot or just a limited selection. I knew as soon as I saw the egg tart that was all mine. So I got that and the almond cookie and 2 of the coconut milk custard buns. The egg tart was good, eggy and a slight sweetness with the crust being flaky. Yum. The almond cookie also good. Not overly sweet and not hard but not soft. Had the right amount of crispness. The custard buns were just ok. The bread was soft but the custard was just different from what I've had and used to. Will I be back? Possibly. To definitely try other things. It's so cheap too. Like a little over $1 each.

Cup cake

Definitely a place to stop in Tampa! I love their custard buns and the taro buns are a family favorite! If you like coffee, the coffee roll cake is mandatory. The service is amazing and they will help you with any items you're looking for.

Satisfies my Asian baked good needs, but I think we came at a time when there wasn't a huge selection. Looking at other people's pictures, I think we just happened to come when they didn't have a lot of variety. We were there at 3 p.m. on a Sunday, which I will admit isn't prime eating time, but since they are open till much later I thought they would stay pretty stocked. They were out of egg tarts, which I read was a hot commodity. We ended up getting a matcha mousse, pork bun, cream bun, milk cream bun, and a buttermilk cream bun. I don't eat pork, so I didn't try that, but I tried everything else. I liked everything enough, but I've been to bakeries that have more variety and taste better. I felt like a majority of the options was the same bread just different filling. However, after seeing other pics I think they were just out of a lot. The matcha mousse had a good matcha flavor. It was more of a cake though. Honestly, I would have liked just the top mousse part and done without the crust! I will definitely come back if I'm in the area to see if there are different options!

Cake was good, cake decorating was amazing and aesthetically pleasing. The people worked at front desk were polite and friendly. Really recommend this place for affordable and delicious cakes.

First timer. This bakery is fantastic! they offer a variety of goods from cookies and cupcakes, cakes and buns. All delicious. I ordered several desserts, including the mango mousse cake, almond cookie, vanilla swirl cake and cupcake. All super delicious. baked just right. We ordered several buns, pork bun, coconut custard bun, butter bun, tarp bun all were absolutely amazing. The buns are baked to perfection. they have a nice golden outside while being soft and moist on the inside. Absolutely wonderful, favorite bakery!

My friend took me here because she knew of a place to satisfy our Chinese baked goods craving. Fortune Star Bakery is in a somewhat run-down plaza, but don't be discouraged! Their buns and sweets are delicious! They run a special like buy 5 buns and get a 6th free, and everything is still fairly priced! One of the best things that I bought from here is their crepe cake! They have different flavors, but I got a slice of the Matcha Oreo... YUM!! It was light and fluffy, and not overly sweet at all. I loved it! I do recommend this great little Chinese bakery with lots of different confections to satisfy any appetite.

Sausage and cheese bun - sweet bun with sausage. Yummy!

Sad to leave a 2 star review but it wasn't good! I had high hopes since most yelpers gave rave reviews on this place. Fortune Star bakery is located off of Armenia. It's in a plaza surrounded by other restaurants and stores. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The bakery had some booths available but there was no one there when I arrived. The staff weren't the best at explaining things and rushed me to make a decision. I ordered couple of things, slice of fruit cake, sausage and cheese bun, pineapple bun and custard bun. Sausage and cheese were our favorite. Sweet bun with glazed Chinese sausages, melted cheese and spring onions. Very very good!! Fruit cake was decent, very light. Thin layer of fruit cocktail in the middle, wished it was regular fruits. Custard and pineapple bun was our least favorite. Custard was so inedible I couldn't keep it down. It tasted grimy and had a horrible taste. Pineapple bun wasn't pineapply. No pineapple taste, no filling, no taste. Disappointed! Overall, I had such high hopes but it wasn't good. Maybe I went at a bad time? Not sure.

I love me some Asian bakery goodies. There's a bakery I go back to in Gainesville that have some pretty great options, but my all-time favorite is the pineapple bun. So you better believe I got super excited when I found this little gem. This Asian bakery is set in an Asian influenced shopping plaza with a seafood restaurant and food market neighboring each other. So I was excited to be exposed to some truly authentic Asian bakery cuisine. Family owned, I was shocked to see how ridiculously inexpensive the goodies were. We were able to get at least six pasties for $7!!!!! A steal, if you ask me! The pastries themselves were Huuuugeee as well and pretty tasty. I will admit that I do prefer the pastries at the bakery in Gainesville, but the price does not compare. I definitely support this nice establishment and hope to come again!

Such an assortment of yummy baked goods

I'll keep this short, really. Little (literal) gem in the suburb of Tampa, located in a quiet plaza. This bakery has really good (read:yummy) pastries, buns, and cakes of the Asian variety. Nothing is overly sweet and cloy, and made fresh every day. Coming from an Asian background with plenty of options back home, this was a breath of fresh air to be found in FL. I highly recommend! The prices for the pastries are also really fair, and you get really tasty treats so why are you still here waiting? Pro tip: reheat some of their pastries like the egg tarts in a toaster oven for an even yummier experience. :)

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

They were huge and priced to match. Having been to France where they are a few euros, it feels inconceivable to pay $10 for a croissant but perhaps it's like getting 2. Yes, I would get it again but sticker makes it a treat opposed to a regular buy...sorry that's my one knock. Good lamination of the pastry dough with a cream filling made it both a great breakfast or snack treat to share. The pistachio crusted was wonderful. Guava cream even pleased a friend who tried our bounty. Service was pleasant but we didn't interact much since it was boxed and ready to go. Nice bakery with more goodies that we may need to try next time. Parking was easy and had a cool vibe. Can feel their passion. See hand in pic for size! Enjoy!

When I spoke with the person behind the counter she told me she could make up a few more for me but that it would be about ten minutes or so which I was okay with and glad that she was willing to do so. I told her I would visit the other shops in the plaza and be back. I waited the time and returned only to find out that she was told by someone, the owner or manager that she couldn't make anymore. So I wasted my time and spent unnecessary money on a drink elsewhere to only have that result. I know it wasn't her fault but I thought that was bad customer service. Probably more than a year later, I was down in that area again so I called ahead to see if they had any available. They did so I stopped in and got one. Now, I know Pistachios are expensive but, I do not believe what I got was worth $10.00. Even with my love of Pistachios, I thought that the top of the croissant was too covered with them to make it an enjoyable bite as it was over powered on the half that was covered. The croissant itself was a little over baked as well. I do not remember what flavor I got the first visit but the croissant was properly baked that time. I know there can be off days and maybe I visited on those days given the customer service during the first visit and the over baked goods on the 2nd but I won't rule them out, just won't go out of my way to return either.

Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot whether I just want a tasty healthy lunch, or I seek to indulge!

No one can really see over it at the employee behind unfortunately, and patrons don't seem to understand how to get in line or order. There needs to be permanent markers set up so people can view from behind the counter areas and then order once they are called it has been a cluster the five times I've been into the shop. You are a huge Tampa brand that has been around for a very long time, and you could have sold your own coffee for a much cheaper price. kind of crushed the charm of a true cuban coffee experience. Lastly, there should be a one-ticket system. I enjoy buying something from every area of the store, but having to swipe my credit card three or four times is a buzzkill. There is no reason, in this day and age, that this should be a problem. You should be able to carry your ticket until you're ready to check out.
