    Brown sugar poptart
    Andi P.

5 Enthusiastic stars for a small women-owned cookie biz that has my new favorite chocolate chip cookie. Ok, so the lovely Skylar W was taking me around to her favorite local spots in the Tampa area and we hit up Bake'n Babes because she knows your girl loves a chocolate chip cookie. She also raved about the brown sugar poptart cookie that's a special at the moment, so I HAD to try it. This shop is located in the cutest little downtown mainstreet of Davis Islands. We grabbed easy parking right in front of the shop and posted up at an outdoor table once we got our cookies. This shop is counter service, so you go in and order. So, the cookies: The chocolate chip cookie is not the most impressive looks-wise, but holy moly when you split it open you will see soft, melty chocolate chips and immediately know you made a good call. I love an unpretentious cookie that delivers on flavor, texture, and gooey chocolate chips. This did all those things. And the brown sugar poptart cookie? Wow- this is a nostalgia bomb! The center has a cinnamon sugar filling that isn't cloyingly sweet, but forces you to keep coming back for more. It's a winner and I hope it stays on the menu for a long time! Overall, a new favorite spot when I'm in town!

These cookies are unbelievable! The best one has to be the fruity pebbles but they are seriously all so good. The cookies are really large too so you can share!

Mediocre, kinda high priced for what's given and limited options. Tried a smores cookie it was ok. Also bought vanilla ice cream to go with the smores cookie and it was so big it toppled over almost immediately onto the counter and a replacement wasn't given. The sleazy brownie shake was decent.

Great spot for rich, grab & go cookies, brownies, and shakes! It's their to go location, but still bright and welcoming (and super aesthetically pleasing decor). The monthly freak shakes are always fun, and we even love the chocolate chip and sea salt cookies. Julie has done something really great with these sweet treats and ambiance of the place. We pop in every time we are back in Tampa!

Been a fan for about 4 years. These cookies are gooood!! 1 is usually enough for me but they also have ice cream, a special colossal sized cone called "The Works" of which had scoops sprinkles a cookie & a large spiral rainbow candy stick piled high for $20. There's is also a popular fish shaped, Japanese street food cone called the Taiyaki which is Vanilla soft serve topped with rainbow sprinkles. Totally whimsical!! The item I favorited first was the Nutella filled chocolate chip which is the also salted like the original. **There is a CBD cookie as well & you'll have to try that out upon arrival. **Bake'n has also been named Best cookies in the Bay for 5 years in a row!! ™ Best of the Bay Tampa

I got the sleazy brownie and it was definitely good, but not super amazing. I'm not sure what the inside is (looks like Oreo cookie) but you're barely able to taste it. The girl who served me was weird. I asked for just the brownie which requires her to just grab it from the shelf and put it in a box so I didn't tip. Not sure if that made her upset or not but she swiped my card, then curtly said have a good night. Girlfriend, I need my receipt! This is a work expense. She had to go back and print it out for me. The place is cute and pink. Even the receipt paper is pink lol

We decided to splurge on some Bake'n Babes after a long day out on the town. We got a variety box because we wanted a little bit of everything!! I will say these cookies are Huge and heavy but the sweetness level is perfect The Nutella filled was good but my absolute favorite was the sleezy brownie it's so delicious in 3 different ways The chocolate chip and the fruity pebble were good too my kids ate those and we got the good stuff. The cbd gummie we're not bag definitely a sour gummie and I'm not sure why only 7 and not 6 or 8 but that's just me. Delicious for sure

I loved the place! The cutest pink world. The decor isn't too hard on the head, everything is pink and floral but it doesn't give you a headache inside. The staff was wonderful and helpful and patient. The dessert was delicious and warmed up. Overall a really cute place to stop by, especially if you're a pink lover.

One of the premier cookie spots in all of tampa. Their location in Davis island is so cute and the staff is always so happy to see everyone. Anytime they have a special cookie stop and get it.

Absolutely love this location and how cute it is inside! And omg their cookies are to DIE FOR. So soft and warm and gooey ugh I love them. 10/10 recommend. Service is A1 and you'll maybe even get to meet the owner which is super nice!

During our seven-mile walk around Riverwalk, we decided to take a break at Bake'n Babes inside Armature Works. The friendly and efficient service made our visit even better, and we could't resist trying the Taiyaki Cone, a delightful nod to a Japanese street food favorite. This treat features creamy vanilla soft serve with seasonal sprinkles, all served in a sweet, cake-like cone. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to cool down! -Jennifer disadventures.com

Like eating a sweet looking ghost: there, but not really.

Visually appealing, but the taste was practically nonexistent. It's almost impressive how little flavor they managed to pack into this cookie. Like eating a sweet looking ghost : there, but not really.

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.

Paris Baguette has EVERYTHING I love. Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too.
