I'd give this place about 2.5 stars. The food itself was good, but I left feeling like it just wasn't worth the price. I ordered the shredded chicken salad, and to be fair, the chicken was absolutely delicious. My issue was that it was served over a basic mixed greens salad with very few extras, and paying around $30 for it felt excessive. The loukoumades (Greek donuts) were also delicious, but again, the portion was surprisingly small for about $16. One thing that also frustrates me is that they seem to be out of many of their bakery items first thing in the morning. They do warn customers about this, but it seems to happen consistently, which is disappointing when you're visiting a bakery and hoping for the full selection. The outdoor seating also wasn't the most enjoyable. It was quite loud, the seating wasn't especially comfortable, and there were a lot of flies, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, the food tasted good, but the value just isn't there for me. I don't mind paying premium prices when the portions, experience, or atmosphere justify it, but I left feeling like I paid far more than what I received. read more

5-star update for one of my favorite Tampa restaurants! Psomi is a must-go for breakfast/brunch every time I'm in town. I most recently took my sister here for the first time while we were visiting for a concert and she loved it, too! We started with iced baklava lattes and the greek donuts (loukoumades) drizzled with honey and this was actually my first time have these here. They're served hot and fresh -- absolutely delicious! When I want something light for breakfast, my go-to is the Everything but the Bagel yogurt bowl (house cured wild caught salmon, cucumber, pickled red onion, tomato, crispy capers, & everything seasoning). It's such a fresh gorgeous bowl, packed with protein. I also love their extra thick cut bacon on the side. My sis got the strapatsada which is a breakfast classic on their menu (greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, & grilled baguette). It's a very generous portion and she had a good amount leftover to take home. Of course, you can't leave without a few pastries for the road! I've heard great things about this place from the locals and after trying it, I absolutely see why! The ambiance is lovely, with plenty of seating inside and outside. The service was also great. Tried Psomi and I can definitely see why this place stays busy! We split the lamb pita and the chicken souvlaki and both were delicious, but the chicken souvlaki was my favorite. The chicken was super juicy and tender. The lamb was good too, but I personally wasn't the biggest fan of it being shredded. Both came with fries, homemade ketchup, and an olive dip and WOW... that olive dip was so good. I could have eaten way more of that. Our waiter also recommended the boozy citrus fizz and dang... such a good recommendation. I got the lemon and I seriously could have chugged the whole thing. Pro-tip: additional parking is located just down the street (look for the blue building with signage). I got to enjoy brunch on the outdoor patio (covered, breezy, and dog-friendly) recently and was blown away. We started with coffee and the aforementioned pastries (get them early because they all sell out!). The spanakopita was the perfect, flakey, savory intro and then paired perfectly with the sweet baklava coffee cake and croissant cinnamon roll. All three were exceptional and next time I'll go next door to their market and buy some to take home. From there we dug into breakfast dishes. Finally got to try the Greek frappe and the famous olive dip. The Greek frappe was good, not the absolute best coffee I've ever had, but a solid choice if in the area. Absolutely speechless. . . . We stumbled upon this place and I can now say, without hesitation, that this is my favorite restaurant in the state of Florida. Beautiful decor, fantastic staff, and out of this world food makes this place top 5 in my books. The whipped feta and baklava coffee cake were highlights as well. Our server, Yasmin, was fantastic. One small downside is that they charge for many add-ons, like +$2.50 for feta. I would expect feta to already come in a lamb pita, so it felt unnecessary to charge extra. This review is for future Christina. The carbs are to die for, but next time unless you're sharing with someone, only buy one. And that one should be the mushroom tyropita. The phyllo dough is so flaky and the inside is delicious. This time I also got the herb biscuit. It was delicious and very buttery. This is like ranking two amazing things, but too much carbs makes me tired so I should just go with the tyropita. However, if I do ever get the biscuit again I would go with a side of jam, not butter. That biscuit is so buttery already. My husband got the croissant cinnamon roll and it's so good. It's light and the frosting is to die for. This plus black coffee is a chef's kiss. I veered off the coffee and got a Greek honey matcha latte. It was good, but I felt like the matcha taste was a little weak. Next time I'll stick with coffee. It wasn't overly sweet though. For my main I got the strapatsada with house cured salmon. It was good but I didn't love it this time. The eggs tasted a bit overdone. I think this is my sign to branch out to something else. There were tons of available tables on Sunday at 9 am.
