I went with a moderately priced set and had a lot of fun wandering through their massive showroom! There's so much to look at inside as the store is on the former site of a swimming pool distributor (which of course needs lots of room). The best part about the backyard store is you can customize every single item in the set you are looking to purchase! Just about every table comes in 3 different sizes and you can get as many chairs as you want. Get the cushions for the chairs if you want or come back and purchase another time! Get a more expensive umbrella and an affordable table...you get the idea! They have big sales a few times a year so it's probably best to wait for that because we saved over $1800 on our set! Warning they sent two thugs to deliver a large over priced furniture order the driver tried to back into my driveway and ran into the fence and cracked the driveway ,my wife told him to park at the curb which made him mad because he had to walk the extra 20 feet.when some of the peices were damaged and my wife told them they got pissed off and broke the rail around the deck, and damaged the siding when my wife said something to them they told her to go FUCK herself and one said to the other this is what you get when you deal with WHITE BITCHES! after talking to the maniger he told me the driver was fired now I have to worry these two racist thug will come back when I'm not home. Honestly customer service is the complaint not the merchandise . My apt building has specific requirements for vendor deliveries and immediately after my purchase I called customer service and outlined them . I made repeated calls to follow up that the specific requirements would be met . On actual day of delivery none were and as I had attempted to prevent negative situation occurring beforehand it was what I anticipated a nightmare . on top of that being charged $135 to deliver! Purchased a patio set in the store. When we looked on the internet the pictured patio sets didn't match what our receipt said. They advertise a 7 piece set and call it a name as a "set" but the name only applies to the chairs not the table so very confusing to the consumer. The internet does not itemize the pieces in the set. We went to the store thinking our itemized receipt was incorrect. The manager acknowledged that the ads were confusing but he did explain everything. It was inconvenient to have to go back to the store again however. read more

Actually this review deserves no stars. I purchased a "teak" outdoor dining set, called Westport ( table and 4 chairs) 4 years ago, totaling over $2000.00. The "teak" chairs began to splinter and crack in less that 2 years. We tried to repair the damages. This past summer a house guest, weighing less than 180 lbs, sat on the chair, which completely collapsed, leaving our guest on the deck floor. Being familiar with teak from 20+ years of boat ownership, I know that teak wood does not crack and fall apart as these chairs have done. The 3 remaining chairs are extremely loose, wobbly with cracking wood: NOT teak!! I brought the collapsed pieces of the chair back to the store manager in Paramus, NJ where I made the purchase. He did nothing. When I asked for the address of the manufacturer, he gave me some bogus web address in Indonesia. Needless to say, not only are Fortunoff backyard store products expensive, overpriced garbage, but also the customer service is equally bad. Stay away from this company!! read more

Went to the Fortuneoff Backyard store on Richmond Ave looking for an outdoor dining set. We spoke with John (store manager) and told him that my wife and i had come in a day earlier to try and make a deal with another salesman but we couldn't agree on price. He asked which set we were looking for and went to work on the computer. He came back with what we thought was a great price and sealed the deal. Of course no one ever pays the prices they list but my set, with all the chairs cushions, umbrella, cover, etc would've been over $10k!! We paid less than half that price. I would surely deal with John again. Worth mentioning though that we did go at the end of outdoor season. No one would get the price we got if this was early spring. I did read many reviews about warranty issues and most of them aren't good. I just hope i won't have any reason the use the warranty but if i do i pray i won't have similar issues to what I've read. All in all i love this store and would shop here again. ****Never wrote a review on this but we also bought a 10ft pre-lit Christmas tree from them (again, after the holiday season) and got a great price. 8 years later i still love the tree and 98% of the 1000 lights still work! Have yet to find a tree i like more than the one we snagged 9 years ago.**** read more

Came in here while hunting for a new Christmas Tree. They have a pretty good selection of pre-light trees. Everything is on the high price range espically the decorations. The sales associate (older gentleman) was fantastic. He explained every feature of the tree, how to put it together and showed us different opions. He was so pleasant and can basically sell ice to an Eskimo. They were running a promotion that when you spend $300+ you get $50 ornament credit (which is about 4 or 5 of them). I would have like to see a large ornament selection though. We walked away with a new Christmas tree and some decor, overall pleasant experience. Merry Christmas! read more

I bought what seemed like a very nice and somewhat expensive patio set in April. The staff in the Staten Island store was very, very nice. After the delivery and minimal usage, we found the the webbing under the couch cushions was too loose and the cushions sagged down. My first call was back to the store. The manager ( who was oh so nice when we were about to buy the set) said "I don't know what to tell you, call the number for corporate for warranty issues. " when I called the corporate office, I was told " send us an email with photos." I sent the photos and an email, called to follow up, sent another email and called again. It's now 3 months later, mid summer when I'd like to enjoy this expensive new set and I haven't heard a word back from Fortunoff. I'd suggest that anyone about to make a purchase there would know that there is zero customer service to be had if anything is wrong with the product. After a few more calls, Fortunoff replaced the couch and cushions. It took longer than it should have but to be fair, I've updated the story. read more

Buyer beware, the so called seven year warranty that Fortunoff brags about is all lies. Each employee will tell you that the warranty is covered by Fortunoff but its not, its not a seven year warranty. I bought a table set for over 2K 3 years ago and it has oxidized so much that the table is disgusting and the chairs are starting to fall apart and after starting a claim I was told that manufacture will not even entertain my claim because it is not a structural issue. They told me to take my table to a body shop and have them refinish it and paint it and also said that if I don't someone with a body shop that it will be cheaper to buy a new table than get it refinished. They also told me to purchase a set that was $3,500 to avoid going through his and its not even a guarantee that I will not have the issue so I spent over 2k for my first set and then they want me to spend $3,500 on a different set in a 4 year span. I cancelled all my order for a new wicker patio set and will never do business here again. Better off buying a set from Home Depot for a fraction of the price and not feel guilty about throwing it out in year or two. Fortunoff didn't even try to make it right with me even though I spent way over $10K in a 4 year span with them and has lost a customer forever. I was not asking for a full refund but just to make it right and they couldn't come through. The workers are very nice except for the Manager John, who was not helpful and kept on telling me that the person I spoke with prior was way over his pay grade. Bought a dining table with chairs, server, 4 club chairs, 4 ottomans cushions and pillows. Every Fall through Spring all my furniture is covered with covers from Fortunoff. This year I found milky white cloud spots around my dining table after uncovering it. Fortunoff service tells me I am 4 months out of warranty and will not stand behind their product. Spoke to Anthony Cavaco, Gen. Manager, who brought my case to manufacturer. He got them to agree to take table back. Anthony also helped me to get an upgrade in another table with a reasonable price different and a brand new table cover, too. I am so happy with the generosity and extreme fairness of my dealings with Anthony who was very supportive and understanding. Came here once around christmas for no apparently reason... glad I did because I liked some of the lay out when it comes to the lights ...looked really pretty...it's shows stuff mainly for a nice large backyard...everything seem nice... This store is actually pretty big...lots of options to choose from... They sell stuff for all year round which is good...so lots of options to choose from... Prices wise is on the high side... There is no parking lot...limited to street parking... But worth checking out if you like home improvement... read more

Our condo purchased 3 tables and 16 chairs from the backyard store in March of 2013. The finish on the patio sets is peeling off and when the store was contacted they refuse to stand behind the product. 14 of the 16 chairs and 2 of the 3 tables have visible peeling of the finish. They are unprofessional and do not stand behind what they sell. I expect patio furniture to last more than two years. Stay away from this place. read more
