We also found out my the city inspector that they did not request a permit to do so! We requested an itemized receipt to make sure we got what we paid for and we have yet to get one. We have sent a letter to the owner of the company in Castle Rock and a letter to the office closest to our house and have yet to hear back from them. Highly recommend not using this company as you don't get what you pay for and the employees are very messy.

Okay, no problem--I called 3 plumbers as well as Home Depot for quotes. On the low end (Home Depot) I was quoted just over 2k for a new 40gal heater. On the high end, I was quoted $3200. I decided to go with the middle option, Courtesy Plumbing, which came in around $2600 and included the tank, labor, disposal of the old tank, and modifications to put the tank in per updated codes. Ryan took the call, came out for free to check out the space, and came back a couple days later for the install. I appreciated that Ryan was transparent, courteous, and diligent. He and his partner got it done correctly and they left no mess or evidence of their work besides my brand new tank. He even did a water pressure test for me after he had some concerns that our pressure was too high. Rather than immediately try to upsell me on a regulator, he got creative and found a way to test the pressure, only to discover that it was actually fine. As a layman myself, I felt reassured that Courtesy was not trying to trick me out of more $. I also upgraded to the silver client package after they finished the job because I liked them so much. We'll eventually need HVAC work done in here, and I will be calling Courtesy. Thanks to Ryan, and extra thanks to Courtesy for acknowledging my husband's service as a USMC veteran and offering us a discount.

I discovered some wet…read morecarpet in the basement....it turned out to be from the kitchen sink drainage, down a nice shiny copper pipe into a cast iron pipe hidden in the darkness under my basement floor. But oh there was so much more! Not only was the cast iron pipe corroded right there where the water seeped up, but it was found to be corroded for at least 25 feet. There was no bottom to the pipe. Awful way to begin 2018! HOWEVER, I WAS SO LUCKY to have been told, by my neighbor, about Flowrite Plumbing and Drain Cleaning! An independent plumbing company made up entirely of licensed plumbers who were friendly, knowledgeable, and very skilled! I worked with Ruben who gave me an approximate estimate before coming out, and the estimate was $1500 less than their competition (Should I name names? I won't, only because the eval and estimate was free and they were very nice - just tooooo expensive). The effort and skill Eddy and Nick demonstrated was incredible. After drilling about 18 feet of floor/cement, looking for solid piping, and moving boxes that were in the way (and there were a lot of boxes), they came to the conclusion that they needed to try something else if they were going to save me costs! They were able to reroute a new pipe and connect it to a solid copper pipe in the laundry room. They also, of course, removed the corroded pipe they had dug up, and capped the pipe remaining under ground. These guys were great - very creative and thoughtful! Very kind. And clearly very skilled. Flow-Rite charged me $760 and left me with a clogged drain and a leaking sink drain. Another…read morecompany came out the same afternoon, cleared the clog and fixed the leak in about 20 minutes for $142. ------------------- We initially called Flow-Rite for a clogged kitchen sink. They charged $380 to snake the drain with a Spartan 100. The technician tried twice but was unable to clear the clog. I asked about other options, but no alternative method was attempted. He said he was very confident hydrojetting would not work (and they charge another $760 for it) and no other method was proposed. The technician then examined the drain pipe in our basement and concluded that it had negative pitch. Based on that, Flow-Rite proposed more than $2,000 in plumbing work that would also have required removing cabinets and opening a wall, leaving me responsible for repairing everything afterward. Before agreeing to that, I called another drain company. I intentionally did not tell them Flow-Rite's diagnosis because I didn't want to bias their assessment. Their technician simply snaked the same drain and cleared it in about 20 minutes. The sink has drained normally since. He also fixed a leak in the sink drain that Flow-Rite had just replaced. Flow-Rite also managed to scratch my hardwood floor with their machine (see the photos).... I called Flow-Rite afterward and spoke with a manager. He stood by their negative-pitch diagnosis and told me their measurement was "pretty accurate." But if the pipe's pitch was the cause of the blockage, I don't understand why another technician was able to clear it with a snake or why it now drains normally. I also raised the leaking drain Flow-Rite installed. The manager told me these repairs sometimes leak after different-temperature water is run through them and that they usually need to come back and tighten them. If that's expected, I don't understand why I wasn't told that or why a follow-up wasn't scheduled. Flow-Rite offered me a $100 refund. Ultimately, I paid Flow-Rite $760 and still had a clogged drain plus a new leak. I then paid another company $142, and both problems were fixed in about 20 minutes. Based on my experience, I would not use Flow-Rite again nor recommend others use this company

I told them that I will have a couple more people out for a quote on the job. They said okay, we will give you a 15% discount if you don't talk to anyone else and do the job right now. This was still $1,268. Keep in mind this was the business manager, not the electrician who was quoting. I could tell the electrician felt uncomfortable and never offered input on the quote. I ended up saying no, that is not my personal policy to just go off of one quote and had them leave. I had a couple other quotes come in from other companies and they were all around $300-$500. I showed them this quote and what ROCC proposed and they all laughed and said ROCC was trying to rip me off. I would not recommend this company.
