Our teenage daughter took driving lessons from Forward Driving School. Making an appointment was not a problem at all. My wife insisted on a female instructor and we got Susan as the instructor. She was patient with our daughter but was strict. I had given some driving practice for my daughter, but she was not confident. After her first session with Susan, my daughter was a lot more confident. For the second and 3rd lessons we planned ahead and by the end of the 3rd lesson my daughter was driving very well. Researched a bunch of different schools on yelp and this one had the most availability for driving lessons :) I read the past reviews and decided to schedule 4 lessons with Nick - he's AMAZING!! I had just over a month to prepare for my driving lesson and even after one lesson I felt totally comfortable with Nick. He's pretty laid back, but will absolutely tell you what you did wrong / teach you how to do something better! He's always reminding you to "scan" while driving, and I absolutely believe this is the reason why I passed my driving test with only 3 minor errors! I took 3-4 classes with Vitti, very friendly, experienced and patient. I definitely recommend her. Very soft spoken, never made me nervous. Gives good driving advice. Passed the test in first attempt! The car is also good for driving lessons, has brakes/accelerator with the instructor, which definitely was useful for my very first class. I received message alerts a day before the actual class. Appointment scheduling was also a smooth process. I also took their car for the test, the same car in which I took lessons. Smooth process at the DMV as well. Previous hands on experience with the car definitely played an important role at the time of exam. All in all, excellent experience with forward driving school! I wasn't improving when learning how to drive with my husband. I thought I can't learn driving and somehow I decided to go to driving school. Luckily we joined this school and luckily we got Amar as my training instructor. Wonderful driving school with even better instructors! I usually took my lessons with Nick and we always catered the lessons to what I needed and was ready for. Not only do they teach the basic mechanics but they also teach that driving is a mental task! So calm and growth oriented, would definitely recommend. Amar is by far the best instructor ever ! I had never driven before but just 2 classes with him and 2 weeks of practice, I could pass the exam in first attempt. On the day of my exam, I practiced with him for almost 2.5 hrs. He came even though he had family commitments. He taught me for half hour extra on his own car for free!! I contacted the driving school and asked for Amar as I got his recommendation from one of my friends. As said by my friend, Amar is an amazing teacher. He really wants his students to pass and always take out time to teach you thoroughly. He tell you where you need to practice more and taught me to do perfect curbside parking in 10 minutes. Booked a car and instructor for my drive test and was pretty disappointed by the experience. The instructor picked me up an hour before my drive test which was nice, but I didn't get any time to practice driving around the DMV area. We just parked and went straight into the DMV. I appreciated the tips the instructor gave me regarding areas I needed to look out for, but there was an issue with his instructor license (the dmv examiner said something about a lack of state seal?) and I was scared I wasn't going to be able to test since it took ten minutes for them to figure out what was going on. This made me very anxious, on top of the anxiety I already felt having to take the drive test. In the end the DMV examiner still let me take the test but I failed (nobodies fault but my own) and when I came back and told the instructor what had happened he said "See? I told you to watch out for that." I know he was just being honest but being told that after just having failed didn't do a lot of good for my self-confidence. I'll probably be booking with a different company the next time I test. read more

Very good driving school in Santa Clara. I have learnt driving for 4 classes from a private tutor but din't have the confidence to drive safely on the road. I registered my exam date and took classes with the tutor Nick from Forward driving school. The very first day he made me feel that I can drive safely. He explained me where I did mistakes and gave excess training in those areas. He took me to the areas similar to the DMV routes like school zones, residential and freeways. The day before the exam and on the exam date he acted like an exam instructor and tried to make me feel less nerves during the exam. Hats off. I passed my exam in my first try itself. I tired to make a phone call appointment and the lady that answered was very rude. She left a voicemail which I did not understand a word she was saying. When I called back, she was not friendly, very rude and very unhelpful person. She also texted saying "sorry, I'm busy. call back later" which sounded very unprofessional.
