Recently, we needed to take a look at some fireplaces so this was the obvious first choice in the area. Despite living here for many years, I've never been in here before. They're located on Yakima Avenue, but have a good amount of parking around the side of the building. It was nice to be able to turn off the main drag and immediately pull into a parking spot. Upon entering, we were greeted by some very nice gentleman who were more than happy to tell us about fireplaces and fireplace accessories. They've got plenty of floor models and lots of additional information about other fireplaces that they don't have in the store. Everything from pellet stoves up to super high-end firewalls that cost more than most fox houses. The more impressive items here were the grills and smokers. They basically had 24 rooms of grills the range from mid range charcoal grills all the way up to very high-end stuff. While we're not in the market for a grill currently, this is definitely a place we will be looking the next time we need one. Prices for grills seem very competitive, while prices for fireplaces seem a little on the high side. Admittedly, I have not done a lot of shopping for fireplaces past, so we shall see how things look once we've purchased one. My husband and I were looking to Replace our gas fireplace log System with an insert with a blower. I had questions.....however, every time I attempted to ask a question, the clerk ignored me and looked at my husband and answered. I became annoyed. He had an agenda, and in the end he said, or you can replace the logs with the same thing....really? So I have no idea how this company compares to others, and I will look further. My advice to the clerk.....listen to the customer. And if a woman asks a question.....answer her. read more

I regret making this purchase and the customer service was not as friendly as advertised and publicized. 11-08-21 I purchased a Fireplace from Fosseen's for $4917.69. Ivan the sales person and manager stated they sub contract with Brian Dow Heat & Air L.L.C. for the Gas installation and Bigfoot Electrical for the Electrical part of the Installation. I asked Ivan what does Gas installation cost for an existing home with Gas. Ivan stated "$625.00", later charged $1263.78. I asked Ivan what does the Electrical cost. Ivan stated" $340.00". I later was charged $942.63. I was appalled to see the excessive quoted difference on the amount I was originally quoted. The total amount I should have paid $4632.69 instead I ended up being charged $7124.10. a BIG difference. Please do your research before you make any purchase from Fosseen's. Ask for written estimates, because, when I confronted Ivan about the difference on the amount originally quoted. He became upset and argumentative stating it was not his problem and for me to take it up with the Sub Contractors they hire. The installers did a poor job. They scratched and chipped my rock masonry. While removing the old fireplace they broke a floor vent. I went to talk to the manager he took my receipt crinkled it up and threw it at me and told me to get the F out of his store read more

I gotta sat that this is one of those "why are they still in business" stories. I live outside Ellensburg Washington in a very rural area and heat with wood. I have an Avalon Cascade stove that I bought from Fosseen's some time ago and as these things do, I have burnt out the firebox. No issue there, it has been a good stove. I researched the stove and found a parts blow up and got the part numbers for the repair and called Fosseen's Ellensburg store (they are in Yakima) and talked with a guy by the name of Rusty - who a few weeks before told me that he would never recommend an Avalon wood stove (great ... they sold it to me!) and then suggested that I fork out another 2000 bux for another stove. In talking with my chimney sweep I found out that the fireboxes CAN be rebuilt. Whatever, can't blame a guy for trying to turn a buck I guess. I called and ordered the parts from Rusty, and this is when the fun begins. He didn't ask for a credit card (he trusts me!!) and said he would call in the parts and to call in a week to see of they were there. I waited the week, called back and after a few minutes it became apparent that he had not ordered the parts. I asked him to check with the Yakima store to verify the order and to see when they would be in, he said he would call and asked me to call him back to see what the status with the order was. I'm beginning to see a pattern here, but I call back anyway. He says that the parts had been on order but they had not come in. I call the Yakima store to verify that they had been ordered and they confirm that they have been ordered. I wait a week and decide that since I had observed a steady deterioration in Ellensburg Rusty's ability to function as a service oriented human being, that I would call the Yakima Store. Talked with Rick who said that the parts were in but the Ellensburg store was closed on Mondays. He said they would deliver them the next day. I say fine. I suck it up and call Ellensburg Rusty today (this is now three weeks after I initially called them to order the parts!). He says that the parts are not in, I ask if he would call the Yakima store to see what the deal is, telling him that I had checked yesterday and what they had said. He said that he would call them and asked that I call back to find out what he had found out. Pattern confirmed. I call back and E-Rusty tells me that the Yakima store said that I never called. I said please cancel the order and YES I DID drop the F-bomb asking if there was "anything else that they could possibly %&*( up in this process" He laughed and hung up. I am now officially a disgruntled customer. Surly sales staff - check No customer service - check Parts runaround - check Staff dishonesty - check Service suck index - 9.5 Called the Yakima store and asked if I could talk with their store manager to lodge a complaint. No call back. I have contacted Avalon to talk with them about it but no call back yet. Don't believe I'll have much to do with them in the future, I would suggest that you do not either. There's a great store in Wenatchee that I eventually ordered the parts from. Actually had a nice retail experience - with thank-yous and everything!! read more

They sent a technician out to evaluate my current gas fireplace, which has been failing to turn on. They were nice enough, however they couldn't find the problem and still charged me $100 for diagnostics. It's still broken. read more

I've been doing business with Fosseens for over 10 years. Owner Scott Nedry is always extremely helpful, his prices fair and service & quality top notch. He has come to my home on at least 2 occasions to measure, discuss my options, bring me brochures & make sure I have all the information to make an informed decision. Called around to several stores looking for a particular Traegger BBQ and had no luck, called Fosseen's and asked if they had, they did and was more then helpful making sure I had everything I needed to go with the bbq before I left. I had the friendly and helpful staff load very carefully with the forklift into my pickup. I was extremely grateful for their hospitality. I will go back for more of my bbq, and fireplace needs if anything arises. read more

I wish I had read the review before I went in. I bought a stove, paid for it and then the day before installation, they called to tell me that the Clean Air Authority program doesn't exist. Mind you they were the ones who told me about the program, told me where to get the papers for the program and when I was buying the stove I asked if they were the right papers, they said yes. But oddly enough, they did mention that if I paid $2200.00 more I could still get installed as they had already been paid to do. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE read more
