Very disappointing experience at Foster Golf Links. I brought a few friends who are new to golf because I had heard Foster was a great, beginner-friendly course. We booked 9 holes and specifically asked at check-in if we decided to continue after the 9th hole, could we simply pay for the additional holes at the turn. The gentleman told us that would be fine. When we finished the 9th hole, we stopped briefly to use the restroom and then came back out ready to pay and continue. That's when, Angie, another staff member told us that we had "forfeited." Forfeited what? We were never told that stepping away for a few minutes at the turn would mean we could no longer continue. What made it even more frustrating was that the group in front of us was still playing, and our pace had been perfectly reasonable. There was no explanation as to why we suddenly couldn't continue, especially after we had already confirmed with staff that we could pay and keep playing. The entire interaction left us feeling singled out and unfairly treated. More importantly, this was my friends' first real golf experience, and unfortunately it turned into a very negative one because of how the situation was handled. Foster may be a good course for beginners, but clear communication and basic courtesy from staff should be part of the experience too. We left very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Apparently they no longer allow non-playing spouse/spectator to accompany golfers, even if walking/pushing golf cart. Won't be coming back here to golf anymore. read more

We golfed here last weekend! And ate at Babaroo's. The food was great! Our server was so nice! The course is well maintained, the play moved along well, the golf carts were clean. We will be back! read more

First time playing here ,I played 18 holes today and it was 88 degrees , I was hoping to be able to buy some water and snacks at the turn but no. The turn store was closed and was never opened during our time golfing and they said that there was a cart person supposed to be around. And never showed up. Also was told that the Marshalls don't care about pace of play and they definitely didn't. Groups taking too long , and I was told one of the guys in the group in front of us, was actually a Marshall. Took a little over 5 hours for us to finish. It's a decent golf course to play but not being able to buy beer or water on a hot day like this and just spending more time waiting for groups to finish , not worth it. read more

Beautiful well maintained course. It's fairly flat and wide. Green fees are comparable to other courses of similar quality and challenge. The service is very friendly. No driving range though. There's an attached restaurant with decent food. Caveat: On a warm day, the odors from the nearby rendering plant might make you gag. read more

My dad and a friend were playing here and in the middle of their 9 holes two ladies rolled up in a golf cart and said we are playing with you. This is not golf etiquette. You ask to join and if someone says no, then you wait for your turn. The ladies were told to take a hike and wait their turn. They turned around and complained to the clubhouse. The nerve of those old ladies. Now my dad and friend are banned from the golf club. I say good ridden to this absolutely undesirable golf course. If they treat people like this I can see them losing a lot of business. Perfect little golf place! The owner/ worker was so relaxed and gave us free push carts! Closes kind of early but you're allowed to stay on the course as long as you want past closing. The fairways were narrower than other courses I've played. Didn't check out the clubhouse/ food. read more

Raised there prices substantially this last year. Really disappointing considering there are much larger courses that are cheaper close by. Staff is really nice. I joined the men's club in January. Cool bunch of guys. The guy who runs it is a bit of an a-hole. I had signed up for a tournament, then became hospitalized for two weeks with pneumonia and was unable to play. When I asked for a refund on my entry he gave it to me, but got all pissy with me acting like I wasn't was inconveniencing him. Always seems like he's annoyed with everyone. Here's an idea; don't be president anymore if you're so annoyed at people all the time.. I've gotten four of my friends to join the club, and not one of them or me will be continuing after this year based on how he treated me after I recovered from being sick.. read more

This is an ok course for a quick round of golf. Can be done in 3.5 to 4 hours depending on pace. The course is squeezed into a small area so all of the fairways are narrow and the holes very underwhelming. Lots of beginners so golf balls were frequently flying into opposing fairways which felt a bit unsafe at times. The staff was pleasant and made for a good experience, just wish the course was longer and more complex. read more

Played here the other day and I think it's just an ok course. The course is super slim, all day long i felt like I was going to get hit with a golf ball because the fairways are so narrow and stacked on each other (actually had one almost hit me as I was putting and not even a courtesy call out). The pace of play was painfully slow as well, nothing like making the turn after almost 3 hours! I wasn't a fan of the course layout either, it was painfully boring. The positives of this place were the location (close to the airport where I picked up a buddy so we could play) and the price, which was pretty cheap overall. Had we paid more I would have been very irritated because the quality of the course is pretty poor. The greens are lightning fast and the tee boxes are not level. I also had some employees watering the grass right behind the greens as I was trying to chip. They were laughing and joking, being loud and not caring that I was trying to hit, it was completely unprofessional. Play here if you want a cheap round and have a ton of time to stand around waiting. I think I'll play elsewhere next time. read more

Yes it's short and relatively flat. But the conditions are generally excellent. A lot of great staff and public are here.

Unprofessional clubhouse employees. I had to tee off #10 because they let a group of eight go off of #1 before me. So I make the turn and there are 4 groups in front of me. I asked if I could just get a rain check for nine holes. No and " I don't have time to deal with this" was the answer. They said I paid the early bird for 26.00 so I play at my own risk in terms of pace of play. The regular green fee is 28.00! So because of the employees error and bad judgment I get punished over 2.00! What a joke. I drive 30-45 mins most times to play your course. I take it early bird is before 9:00am, my tee time was 8:50. So 10 mins difference and 2 dollars more your telling me I wouldn't have to wait for 30 mins to tee off on my 10th hole? I understand not every round will be smooth and quick but you can't punish me because I'm a single golfer , And might I add, a single golfer that will never play at fosters again. read more

Let me preface to say that this is the first course I've played on in nearly 20 years and I played without having swung a club in 15. This course gets really packed in the summer months due to its low cost. It's a pretty short course and only has a single par 5. It's definitely walkable. The front 9 is pretty forgiving but there are going to be a lot of divots on the fairways when it's busy. The back 9 is definitely tougher, and has three holes where you have to go over the water and a pretty nasty dogleg right on 12. I usually come here during super twilight during the week and it's only $12, but unless it's mid-July, you'll be hard-pressed to get more than 8/9 holes in before it gets too dark. read more

Came here with two tee times with Co-workers. We kept getting harassed by some lady who is a marshal and mention some guy named Darryl or Darren, who in face did the same. We are a group of four and a group of three. There are 8 minutes in between tee times, and we decided to do a scramble which significantly speeds up golf time. She threatened to kick us out and also said that people were complaining about our golf time. However, there was no group behind us for quite a bit and we even had to wait for the duo ahead of us a few times. Because of her threatening us, we split back into groups of 3 and 4. This caused a queue behind the group and she even forced them to skip a hole to CATCH UP TO US. There. Was zero logic behind what she had to say and she didn't seem to really be knowledgeable of the course that she works at "for a living". read more

Really liked this course. I am semi-beginner and the course is a great break in to 18 hole golf. However, I think it is very well kept and probably still fun to play for the more skilled player. The setting is pretty and course layout is pretty fair, not too jammed, not too spread out. The staff is friendly and drink cart had a good rotation. Golfers on the course were nice, kept good pace, and didn't apply too much pressure behind us. Plan on returning several times. Quality and layout make this a really fun course read more

Great location along the Green River, moderate greens fees, a short, fairly straight course good for beginners or executive course fans. The fairways are well-kept, but my friend complained that the greens are not, making it difficult to predict how fast they will be. This was my first time on a golf course in years. The short length of most holes was helpful and the bucolic scenery helped keep my mind off my quadruple bogies. Weekday rate was $20 for 9 holes, $28/18, and twilight rates are even better. read more

This is definitely a good place to golf. The price is very good and the course is in good condition. Although the total yardage is really short it's a good course to play 18 holes with a group of friends. The fairways & greens are well kept and the putting green is very good. If this place only had a grass tee driving range I'd make it my home course. I've golfed as a single here a few times and the golfers I've been paired up with have been great to golf with. The pro shop is pretty nice as well and although I have never dined in at the restaurant it looks and smells delicious. read more

Good rates, but the course is just too easy to be really enjoyable. Greens were a little bumpy. I've heard good things about the food, but didn't eat while I was here. They have a nice practice area, including a sand trap to work on your game. read more

It is unfortunate that this being the first review I am writing on here is due to such a poor experience at Foster Golf Links this past Sunday. I am an avid golfer and have played most of the courses around the greater Seattle area, but had yet to play at Foster. I had heard great things with regard to the price-to-course comparison...sure it's a municipal course which is played heavily, but the grounds crew do a great job, which was very evident. The real reason for this one star rating is that I will never return to play here, due to the overall lackadaisical attitude the management has for proper golf etiquette and course management. I have played enough gold to know how long a round of 18, even on a busy Sunday should take (4.5-5 hours). And upon playing the first 3 holes in 1 hour, my playing partner and I knew something was terribly wrong. Groups of 6, 7, and even 8 were common sight on the course! All just playing together, driving every which way without regard for other players...it was chaos. Which brings me to my last point of frustration...NO COURSE MARSHALL!? Or they only come out when someone calls the clubhouse to complain. We saw 1 "course Marshall" as we got to the 17th tee (5 and half hours into round), asking if we were the ones who had called in about the ridiculously slow play. I only wish I had. I recommend investing in course management to better the player experience and not allow any amount of people grouped together to make more money. read more

Foster's is a great value, especially at twilight rates. The course itself isn't very complex and is an easy play, but that makes for very good practice for most golfers. The clubhouse is nice; the food and drink are fairly standard but a nice ambiance after a round of golf. read more

A great short course perfect for working on one's short game. The fairways a narrow and each hole runs next to the other but this is a great priced and kept course for someone looking to get in a quick round. Easy course and great rates. Pro shop is newly renovated and sharp. This has been my home course as a beginner amateur 'warming up' for scrambles or tougher courses. Once I get used to this course I know I'm ready for tougher ones. Very welcoming for beginners since others on the course are at the same level and are more lenient to other golfers going slower, or stray shots falling on their fairway. Also doesn't seem too busy if you catch it at the right times. Easily walkable as well. read more

Really this is a 4.5 rating but I liked it so I rounded up. Great course. It rained heavily last night and the course is in great shape. No puddles on fairways no standing water no mud shots. It was in fantastic shape. Warren was in the pro shop. Super chill. Seemed like a great dude. Didn't force me as a single to wait or go with someone else. It's a short but narrow course. Greens are fast even when wet and soft. No gps in the cart and no seed to repair divots. Other than that great course will come again read more

Overall a nice golf course, the greens seem to have a lot of sand on them which makes it a little bit more challenging to putt. I like golfing here with friends and we try to stop by on the weekly. read more

I love this course! It's well maintained. The course gets a little crowded on the front nine but it also depends on how fast/slow the group in front is. I do have to say that the beer cart ladies need to make sure to do their rounds...she never came over to us until the 10th hole but we had already gone up to the clubhouse. Sometimes I think it's cause we are females but hey we are the best at tipping..in my opinion! The clubhouse makes a great sweet tea lemonade with mint! One of my favs! read more

Terrible smell surrounding the course. There is a animal processing plant that emits awful odors and the course doesn't do a thing about it. Very disgusting smell that you cannot escape. I wouldn't go back due to this. Plays slow and the course doesn't enforce speed of play checks. 18 holes takes 5 hours. On the positives the price is reasonable. Grass is ok read more

We were there over a glorious fall day. The greens were punched just a week before yet looked real good, a bit fuzzy. Fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back. read more
