I am a big supporter when checking out a new place to get what they are known for or good at... that being said I finally made it here to give their "Char Burger" a taste. Same as others have said about walking through the first doors and seeing the small table, pencils & pads to write down your order. The staff was very kind and helpful. The burger was as expected, juicy with lots of flavor. I plan on returning to try all their craft beers next time. They had tons of choices plus you could get growlers refilled if I remember reading that correctly. The decor was nice too; very welcoming and friendly. I dig this place for sure! read more

The Buffalo Wings Are Delicious And The Charburger is amazing Love it The Place is nice only that most of the time it's Empty Still The Atmosphere is Great I prefer Foster's intsted of Fast Food Restaurant the only thing is that the food is overpriced and the Service is horrible I mean a customer was waiting in the front to be served and the manager was there and just ignored her and when we left he didn't say goodbye or come back soon the only person who was nice was our waitress she served us and came back asking if everything was ok Now that was service. This is pretty yummy, but a want to be Five Guys with a sole proprietor flair. I ordered the lil' burger. It was a good size for me. It was a little well done for my tastes, but not over cooked. The fries are salty and I was bummed they use a cheese sauce on their fries rather than real shredded cheese. Would pop in again...if I wasn't closer to five guys. read more

This is our favorite burger joint! I wish they still had the Ashburn location! The food here is good--we like the grilled chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce, an old special that you now have to custom order--but everything we've had here has been good. Hands down though, my favorite item on the menu is the chocolate shake! Hand-spun with real ice cream, this is the definition of an ice cream shake. This is a fun sports-bar type burger joint, but with a family vibe. Not super healthy, but it's a burger joint, and they do have options. I'm a fan of Five Guys, but I always feel so guilty after devouring one of their giant greasy cheeseburgers with--of course--a styrofoam cup stuffed with fries--fries ranked as the 4th worst restaurant food in America (http://eatthis.menshealth.com/slide/worst-fries). Fosters offers charburgers--think Burger King burgers except much higher quality. I haven't looked at the nutritional information, but I could tell by eating the burger that Foster's is considerably healthier than typical burger joints. The buns tasted healthier than normal, too. One compliant: I ordered the fresh squeezed lemonade--awesome!--but it was $0.87 per refill on a medium-sized cup. Seriously? That's lame. Refills should be free. I'd rather pay a little more for a cup of lemonade than have to pay-per-refill. I'm a fan. And I'm excited to see that Foster's is franchising some new places in Florida. Come to Tampa!! read more

This is Five Guy's beefed up. (Please pardon the pun.) Foster's gets the 'dive burger place' vibe down well, with emphasis on a southern feel. The burgers are excellent, provided you like yours medium-well or well done. One of the place's signatures is putting the toppings below the burger, on the bottom bun -- I'm not sure why this is, but it seemed like it might've kept the toppings on the burger better (although that might have been my imagination because I was looking for something like that). The fries are similar to Five Guys and others, but thicker and, dare I say, 'potato-ier'. The milkshakes are very good too, although don't expect something you can drink on the run -- these are more on the lines of a cup with three slightly blended scoops of ice cream; very good, but requiring a spoon equally as much as (if not more than) a straw. The menu includes turkey, hot dogs, wings, salads, and several desserts beyond milkshakes and ice cream. The staff is friendly and patient. Foster's also seems like it might have a decent happy hour, although the beer selection is somewhat stilted -- a variety of breweries are represented, mostly craft breweries instead of big brands, but there're mostly IPAs and lighter lagers on the taps, just so you know what to expect. read more

I love fosters. Love it. But this particular one? Not so much. Call me a Foster's snob. I dunno. The staff here are young (teenage/college age) and I have nothing wrong with that (I just turned 30 this year), but when you end up waiting AT LEAST 15 minutes for your little side salad (which you had to go remind them) and then longer for the actual food? Not good. They seem to have a more lax attitude here since they're just college/school kids. Plus they forgot to bring out the hot sauce for the wings, and so I had to go back and ask for it. In addition, they were yelling out customer's names behind the counter to pick up their food.. Not a good way to go about it. Plus the booth we sat at had NO NAPKINS. It was completely empty. Just so much things going wrong. The one in Herndon's is MUCH MUCH better. They've got older folks working there so I think they take their job much more seriously. They actually remember your name and your face (don't ask me how) and so they actually bring out the food for you instead of trying to call your name across the counter and make you carry it over yourself. Hidden gem for beer lovers. Hands down the best beer garden in the area. 18 taps of mostly Virginia microbrews, but he will have some amazing beers from other areas of the country too from time to time. Growlers to go at a good price. Food here is one of the better Fosters I've been to. He gets slammed at lunch time since it's surrounded by office buildings, but I've always had good food and service regardless. Great chili cheese fries. This is the unrivaled Holy Grail of hamburgers! 4 years ago, I attended a seminar in the area and grabbed a burger to go. I was forced to wolf it down in 30 seconds as the seminar began, thinking to myself (with every bite) this is the juiciest, most spectacular burger I'd ever had. I vowed to go back. It took me FOUR YEARS to retrace my steps and find the place (I had forgotten the name, but not the experience). This week, my sweetheart and I reunited with our Hamburger Nirvanna. This was my second experience with Foster's Grill. The first time was take out and I wasn't impressed - but again it was carry out so I decided to give them a try again. We arrived at approximately 9pm (they close at 10). I was concerned with I only saw 2 other tables occupied. We decided to eat outside. Once we found out how the ordering process was done we placed our orders. We had to get shakes to go with our burgers and steak/Cheese. After paying we were told the shake machine was already cleaned - WHAT!!! You took our money already. We asked to see the manager and instead of coming out to see us - shakes arrived 10 minutes later. The food was okay. My bread used for my steak and cheese was falling apart - but I managed it. I am impressed that their doors were locked and everyone was out of there by 10:03. Oh and by the way - the manager never did come visit us. read more

This my first time at this place and I felt like rookie not knowing how to order but the friendly bartender helped me out with their order sheet. I started with a flight of crafted beers. Not knowing which were the good beers the barkeep brought me four of his best sellers - they were great choices. Next I ordered a side salad which to my disappointment was served in a to-go container (really, they can't afford plates?). The salad was very tasty which was a nice surprise. So I had to order their specialty - Old Fashioned burger and fries. Dare I say the burger was tasteless and the fries were undercooked. Called to order food To Go last night. They told me they had too many people in the restaurant and they were not taking any To Go orders. I have never heard of a restaurant in my life denying a take out order unless the restaurant was closed, suffering from a power outage, etc. They were too busy to take an order for food. Who doesn't love Fosters. My go-to is the spot in Herndon, so I've only been to this location one time. Typical Fosters fare was delicious as usual, my only complaint would have to be that the fries were so damn salty that they literally sucked the life out of my mouth. Food was good. A bit confusing and disorganized when you first come in with pads of paper you circle things to order. Kind of a cluster mess. I found it annoying the meals come with tiny cups. Granted you can refill but still with the kids with me I have to bring them to refill station. I felt it was a little pricy for what you get, as others have said. I am very tempted to try milkshakes there as so many seem to love them. I had burger with regular fixins and opted for grilled mushrooms for added extra buck. read more

This locale continues to slide downwards in our estimation with each successive visit. The burgers are decent, but don't stray too far: the buffalo wings are nauseous and poorly executed. Tonight's slow service experience was topped off with a lack of choice of sodas, presumably due to management's failure to manage. My favorite burger place for its consistency, service and yes even taste. I prefer Foster's burgers because of the preparation of flame grilled which i think produces a less greasy and tastier burger. The fries are pretty darn good as well. One of my favorite aspects of the place is the service and laid back attitude. Rarely is there a long line and the staff brings the food to you. This makes life a lot easier when I'm with my daughter. One of our favorite experiences is to eat on the patio during spring and summer months and inevitably finishing with one of Foster's extra thick milkshakes. read more

This is the place I go to when I am home alone on a weekday while the kids are in school and my wife is busy doing something. The burger I ordered was very good, I like the charbroiled taste and their fries are boardwalk style. I have yet to order beer there but they have a very good microbrew selection of drafts. The service was on point and pricing reasonable. While it is not the best burgers, I like this place and I will continue to come for lunch when I am home alone. read more

I called and placed an order for 4 burgers with fries combo. My husband went to pick it up and they only prepared 3 burgers and fries. He got home with the burgers and fries but was not given any cups for the soda that comes with the combos. When I called the guy seemed very hyper and was rushing my order, that could be why they got it wrong. My husband said they weren't busy. I called them back after my husband got home with no drinks just to make sure that all combos come with drinks and the lady said yes. I didn't want to speak to her manager because I'm not driving back just for some drinks. This is the second time that they got my order wrong and I thought I'd give them another chance, but they got it wrong again. The food is good but this place is very unorganized. read more

Foster's Grille pales in comparison to Five Guys. The service is good for a place you order at a counter because they will come check on you to make sure everything is ok. Whether or not that is standard, I'm not sure, but it was during my visit. I had a burger lunch special which was reasonably priced. The burger wasn't bad but it felt pressed. It wasn't the greasy, artery-clogging, awesome burger experience I was hoping for. But I wouldn't count out going back. I feel I could get just as good a burger from Chili's paying about the same price. read more
