Food and drinks are always good here! We came in with a large group and no reservation on a Friday evening and they were able to seat us right away. And then we met Shelby, our server. Talk about personality! She is awesome. She has kept the drinks and apps flowing and there has yet to be an empty glass on this table! Great service! read more

Appetizer: french onion pastry puffs. A good balance of filling and pastry, comes 2 pieces per order. Full rack of ribs: a HIT (the seasoning is korean gochujang based, so it has a bit of kick to it!) The fries come "animal-style" seasoned, too, nd were amazing. Burrata cheese rigatoni: sauce was great- a white sauce but not too greasy feeling. Braised beef roast: nothing to write home about, but still a good hearty dish Southwest chicken salad: good zing, loved the candied pecans as part of it Parking is plentiful and the vibes are dark but moody! First time in lazy dog. Over all a happy and welcoming place, high ceiling, wide space and pleasant ambience. Service was timely and professional Most for the dishes we ordered were good except that we had to return the wings as they were not seasoned at all, and candy bacon was not crispy, everything else was great especially the fries, the ribs and the good and many sauces varieties. I'm still trying to find a cool place to hangout when I visit VA. I tried this, and honestly, will cross it off my list. I like energy if I'm ordering from a bar, and there was none when I visited at 8:00PM on a Saturday night during the summer. I give this review four stars because their house pilsner is incredibly good. I will definitely visit other Lazy Dog location for this beer. I wasn't hungry-hungry, but wanted to sit down and watch sports and have a couple of beers. They don't have multiple monitors here. They broadcasted an old NFL game, which was actually entertaining in August. I ordered their spiced pickles and marsala chicken meatballs. (Talk about a weird order on my part). The pickles were good. Just too much for one person. The meatballs were okay, but a plentiful choice for a shared appetizer. I just wanted to order some food, and that's what I did, albeit an odd combination. This seems like a really nice place for a date, get together, etc. I'm interested in their fish and chips, which I'll order next time. I'm definitely coming back to a Lazy Dog for their incredible house pilsner. There's plenty of parking and a few other restaurants, as well as a a Wegmans in the complex. read more

I had heard so many great things about this place, so I decided to visit for the first time to celebrate my dog's birthday on 8/2/26. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I originally reserved an outdoor table because I was bringing my dog, but since he is a service animal, I was told he could dine inside, which I appreciated. I expected a dog-friendly and welcoming environment, but that wasn't my experience. After we ordered and were waiting for our appetizers, the manager, Kevin, approached us and asked me to take my dog off the booth seat and place him on the floor. I wasn't comfortable doing that and considered either leaving or eating outside. However, Kevin explained that even outside, my dog would still have to stay on the ground. He then suggested moving us to a regular table where it had carpet, which seemed like the best option, so I agreed to change my table. After our appetizers arrived, the manager came over again and asked us to be "mindful of other guests" because my dog was barking, likely because he was hungry. I had very little control over the situation, so I politely suggested moving to an outdoor table, thinking it would be more comfortable for everyone since my dog might continue to bark a little while waiting for food. Only reason I preferred inside because it was raining very hard outside. After changing tables twice and doing my best to accommodate the manager, Kevin, because my dog continued to bark, I hoped the situation had been resolved and that we could finally enjoy our meal and celebrate my dog's birthday! Once outside service was definitely slower for us and we didn't get the soup we ordered. So food comes and we were waiting for our dogs meal to arrive. When it did, I notice the manager Kevin came by and brought to us but before giving it to us, he said if we could be "mindful to the other guest" again since my dog was barking due to other dogs sitting outside. We became increasingly frustrated because we felt we were being singled out and repeatedly approached about our dog's barking. There were several other dogs outside that were also barking, but it seemed that we were the ones being consistently asked to address the issue. This was clearly not the experience I hoped it would be and regret driving an hour from my home just to come check out this place since I thought it was dog-friendly and welcoming because it clearly was not! After that last comment, I was done, asked for boxes and decided to leave we didn't even get our desserts and asked to get it to go! I just wanted to celebrate my dogs birthday but this place was just horrible. Next time I won't come back ever! Also, for the soup we never got, they charged me for it and forgot to take it off the bill but when I came home I called and another manager named Barry said it was his fault and refunded us. Met up with friends for a quick bite on a weeknite and were pleasantly surprised overall! The restaurant is super cute and roomy. Definitely a family friendly place but also warm and welcoming vibe. Lots of stone and woodwork which really gives the space a log cabin feel. Server was hilarious (Colin I think it was) and very helpful in making our dinner choices. Our friend LOVED his PBJ burger! I had the tuna bowl which was absolutely lovely. Tables were well spaced out and the place didn't feel too crowded. Everyone loved their food and drinks. They have a great menu selection, tons of seating (indoor and outdoor) and my favorite PLENTY of parking! Those of you from the DMV can appreciate this. I had wanted to give Lazy Dog a try for quite some time. This past weekend, we finally got there. We were here around 4 p.m. At that time of day, there were some occupied tables. They appeared to be short-staffed. It took a while for our server to get to us. She took our drink order; I had water while my husband had root beer. We had a bit of a wait before a runner brought our drinks. Our server finally came by to take our order. I chose to try their "loco moco", as I had never had it before. As for ambiance, it was dog-themed. The handles on the doors were shaped like dog bones. They have photos of dogs on the walls. Loco moco consists of: "Wok-fired rice with shaved hickory-smoked ham, seasoned ground beef, ginger, garlic, cabbage, peas, carrots, soy sauce + garlic chili crisp, topped with furikake, green onions and a sunny-side up egg, with a side of housemade teriyaki gravy." The portion was huge---so huge that I took most of it home, and it made a decent-sized meal for the two of us the next day. We made a couple of fried eggs to top it. Overall, I did like the loco moco but wish the portion was smaller. My husband ordered "Grilled Idaho Trout," which consists of: "Grilled Riverence farms trout topped with walnut citrus butter, served with crispy smashed potatoes, garlic green beans, and lemon cream sauce." He was able to finish his meal. The green beans were mixed with other vegetables. They were very tasty. The smashed potatoes, alas, were overcooked. The best part was the trout: a good-sized piece of pink-fleshed trout, nicely cooked and moist. When we finished our meal, our server came by and asked if we had gotten our appetizer. We recalled her saying something about giving us one. We let her know we never got one. She apologized and said she would give us a dessert to share at no cost. Looking over the dessert menu, we decided to order "campfire cookies," which consist of: "Housemade cookies with white + milk chocolate chips, caramel, pretzels and sea salt, served warm." Another weekend another new restaurant. Being new to the area we've never been. It was good. Typical chair restaurant atmosphere, very family friendly and my favorite part - DOG FRIENDLY PATIO! The food was good, but I'll be honest - portions (salad) were small for the price tag - and this coming from someone who moved here from Hawaii ($$$$). As much as I wanted to test the Loco Moco I knew it'd never live up to Aiea Bowl, so I passed. Server was good too. Food was good. This is related to the service. We waited almost 40 mins to receive our food -- they were busy, that's subpar service, but whatever. Our waiter was kind. My complaint is related to a safety issue. When a staff member who was not my waiter brought out my flatbread across the table he didn't know who it belonged to- I said "that is mine." He handed it to me and the plate was searing hot on the bottom, so much so I almost dropped it. It burned my finger tips. No warning of "hot plate or hold it on the sides!" That is unacceptable and should never be done to your customers. It could have ended badly. read more

Went to Lazy Dog in Chantilly and had a great experience from start to finish. We were seated just a few minutes after arriving, and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. He checked in with us numerous times, confirmed whether we wanted our appetizer out with the entree, cracked small jokes, and even came prepared with to-go boxes when he noticed I'd stopped eating. A gesture I really appreciated. I ordered the Korean Ribeye Bibimbap bowl, and it was amazing -- easily the best meal I've had there. The flavors were bold, and everything paired so well together. I also ordered the Cajun fries, which I always love. Despite "Cajun" in the name, they're more tangy than spicy, which makes them addicting. It's a must try! Lazy Dog continues to be a solid option, and I highly recommend for a casual or low key date. read more

I feel like Lazy Dog is a good staple restaurant to have. I went with my friend and we both took advantage of the $15 fireside favorites meals. I got the fried chicken dinner. The chicken had hot honey which added a nice flavor. The side of sautéed spinach had a lot of flavor with some bacon. For the dessert, I got the s'more brownie sundae. It was decent and I loved the toasted marshmallow on top. The service was speedy. I also appreciate the restaurant feels like a lodge in mountains, it is very comfortable. read more

A group of 20 to 30 coworkers and I had a holiday lunch hosted by Lazy Dog on the Thursday before Christmas. We were set up with a long table and several six person booths in the corner by the giant fireplace. It was a great setup and we felt like we had our own room. Our team of servers were awesome and friendly. They took great care of us as did the kitchen staff delivering all our lunches at the same time especially since we ordered off the full menu. I went with the pot roast "French" dip sandwich which was delish but too big for me to finish in one go. A person next to met got a giant pork schnitzel which was my second choice. On the other side, a giant bison meatloaf was delivered. I'll give that a try on my next visit. Everyone had a fantastic time and we will certainly consider returning again. read more

I had an enjoyable experience at Lazy Dog Restaurant overall. The cheese curds were fabulous crispy, cheesy, and absolutely addictive. The ribs were tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. I also ordered a drink, which was definitely strong, so no complaints there. We were part of a larger group (about 10 people), and considering that, the service was decent. The only real downside was the delay in getting drinks for my husband and me at it took much longer than expected. Either the server forgot or the bar was extremely busy, but once the drinks arrived, everything else went smoothly. One thing I really appreciated was the acoustics of the restaurant. Even with a packed dining room, it never felt overly loud, which made for a much more pleasant dining experience. The menu is also impressive, with plenty of options to suit everyone at the table. Overall, despite the drink delay, I'd say Lazy Dog is definitely worth trying. The food, atmosphere, and variety make it a solid choice, especially for group dining. read more

Oh my gosh the food is so good! And I love that I can take my dogs and sit on the porch! My dogs loved their beef and rice dish too. And my food and all my companions' food were so good. With food that's familiar with a twist and flair, this place is interesting to me. The service is very good, and the servers are friendly. Thank you, Shelby, the jokes and stories made our visit very enjoyable. My burger was delicious and the French fries were some of the best I have had in a while. I was seated at a 4-top back by the kitchen...no biggie as I was a single, but they didn't even ask if I wanted a small booth or high top in the bar area (I would have taken either). Michelle, my server, came over quickly for my drink order and informed me their taps weren't working so the only beers they had available are their House Craft Beers (all canned) or Corona...so I ordered the Whoa Nellie - a Mexican style lager that wasn't bad. Since I was really hungry I ordered what turned out to be more food than I could finish. I started with ground chicken lettuce wraps that came with a side of sweet bbq sauce. Had this been a half portion or if I shared it with someone it would have the perfect serving size. Either way, they were delicious. For my entree I ordered the pulled port sandwich with fries and I paid extra for a Sesame Ginger salad. The salad was just ok, the the sandwich and fries were really good. The place itself was actually quite nice, very clean, decor looks well taken care of, but the place is a bit loud. If in the area again I'd come back to try their burgers. Kids had hamburger and cheese burger with fries and both loved it. Hubby had Baja burger and said it was good. I had a lunch special with half chicken salad sandwich and chopped salad and fruit. The chicken salad was 5/5 the thinly shredded type with a little curry walnuts and grapes- my faves. The chopped wedge salad was disappointing 3/5. It was lacking flavor despite having blue cheese and bacon- I was really surprised. Bacon candy was a hit as always (daughter said we need to order two next time!) and Brussels were ok - a bit too lemony taste but good texture. Good service and love the decor. Was my friend's first visit and she offered all kinds of info and had fresh chips made no charge and brought out to the table by a manager who welcomed us. We had the variety appetizer picking the fried deviled eggs, cheese curds, and French onion pastry puff. All were good the deviled eggs were excellent. Nice portion too considering the split, choose 3, approach. After the fresh chips with various sauces to try and appetizers. We decided to split a salad with fried chicken thinking ahead to dessert. They split the salad nicely for us. It was well prepared with various fresh ingredients and nice sized pieces of chicken. For drinks they have a partnership with a brewery in Jackson,WY and various beers on tap including the Walrus a nice hazy IPA. My friend was happy that they Audi had N/A option too. Desert was great a cookie with ice cream that turned out to be four medium cookies! Splurged and also got the banana bread pudding to go with a nice after dinner cup of Joe! Lovely dessert and at this point stuffed!! We saw on the menu that they offered a few different dishes in take home frozen tv dinner style, they're back to the 80's. We saw one large group get multiple bags to go. We decided to as well. Buy 5 get 1 free, we got chicken pot pie, Shepherd's pie, and Meatloaf. First time at a Lazy Dog and this hit the spot. We were hoping to sit at the bar but all the seats were full so we had a high top by the bar. There seemed to be a bit of confusion with the waitstaff who was taking care of us - 3 different people all came by to get our drink order and they didn't know the others had already asked. Apart from that my boyfriend and I each had a beer and then we got the blackened chicken bowl and the Mediterranean bowl. The med bowl needed something more - not enough sauce or a hummus or something. The blackened chicken bowl was perfect. This place was packed on a Saturday night so you may have to wait. I usually always get the Nashville salad. It always hits the spot (after covid, the amount of chicken definitely became less, but still love it)! I also really enjoy their happy hour. The service is dependent on the server - I've had excellent ones, and have had one that check in once (and I almost always need 2-3 water refills). First, let's start with the fact that I thought that this place only served hot dogs lol solely by the name. One can only imagine how surprised I was to learn that was not the case. So, I went here on a Friday evening to catch up with a mentor. We were quickly seated, greeted, and were provided water, promptly. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. After picking her brain for what to get for my entree, I opted to get the Bison Burger (medium) with the Cajun fries, which was THE best decision. That burger was absolutely DELICIOUS. It definitely makes sense why it is one of their popular menu items. The taste was everything my tastebuds didn't know it needed.
