And no intention to rhyme. Just dropping a dime. Anyway! The vibe at this joint is awesome. Very chill. The bartender was friendly and good at her job. Only one problem: she makes the strongest Old Fashioned in the history of mankind. I made the mistake of ordering a second one. That wasn't a good idea but it's 100% on me. I'm a friendly drinker. But I have moved away from liquor and just have two wines or three beers for a normal experience (since being hit by drunk driver in early 2025). However, on this night, I think I might have been unintentionally rude. Not mean. Just stupid. The best word might be 'brash.' The bartender told me I should go get some mozzarella sticks around the corner. Well played. I have never had that happen to me. I can laugh about it now. 100% sober. I don't like when I get out of control with people that seem chill. That bartender is probably a great conversationalist. It started out that way. Before I went to the moon (figuratively speaking). But, we always move forward. Side Note: Luna is a cool black lab that hangs there. My dog, Lulu, was originally Luna and also a black lab and came from a tough home so my son re-named her Lulu when she was nine months old. She is now 11. For those who don't know (the majority of people reading this): I no longer write books and use Google and Yelp as my writing outlet. My reviews are not standard and I view them as an opportunity for me to tap in to something I love but no longer do. They read more like short story reviews than critiques. I highly recommend this establishment for the chillest vibe in Charlotte. No exaggeration. I wish I hadn't been buzzed when I walked in or had a second drink but that's on me. Cool place and staff. Also: Don't listen to Jacob on his review. Looks like a child putting random things behind the counter? It's called creativity and expression, my guy! But if I had a bit more to throw around I'd find myself here buying some nice hand made dining set or tea mugs instead of hitting some department store. They also sell artist original cards, small art prints, large paintings, hair bands, jewelry and such. It all matches a feel for the place that I can't quite pin down. A good one for sure.

I had researched places to see that are fairly close to Charlotte and this was one of the places I…read morefound. I figured my grandpa would appreciate it. He is a treasure hunter and prospector with an appreciation for mining shared by me. But I was hesitant to bring he and my grandma here due to the amount of walking and the stairs in the mine. We came anyhow and had a really good visit. We started in the museum. Just a gentle stroll learing about the history of the mine and gold mining in the region in general. Towards the end of the museum you learn about the modern uses of gold (i.e. space applications). There is also a 9 minute video which goes more into depth on the history of the mine as told by the reenactment. I didn't initially plan on sitting through that but it really was informative. After the video we made our way outside and down to the mine. I kept checking with my grandparents to see if they were ok to keep going. They insisted they were. So we entered the mine and into the cold damp darkness. It was AWESOME. As you trek deeper in, you find off shoots from the main tunnel. Each with its own stuff to see. There is one with a vertical shaft going all the way up to the surface. That is a cool perspective. Finally you reach the end and the those darned stairs. There are many of them and they are not all level. Do your best to hold on and climb your way out. Then you'll find yourself outside about half way up the hill. But wait. There's more. After you exit the mine you can still climb higher up the side of the hill. Up to the top of the shaft you saw from below and beyond. At the very top there is a big smoke stack. A chimney left over from the steam engine used during mining operations. It was an impressive site to behold. Now back down the hill side and back to the visitor center. Our visit was complete but there was more to see. There are more trails to explore. The park also offers gold panning for a small fee. We came across one small lad who was so excited that he found gold. He ran up to my grandpa to show off his treasure. None of us could actually see anything but if this kid found anything, it was the thrill of a life time. This park has that magical way about it.

This is after I received an email it was ready. I drove the 45 minutes to pick it up, so wasted trip. I asked if they could ship it for free after not having item ready and being defective. They said No and it would cost me 18.00 , I had already paid over 100 to create item. I will say when I had to go back they gave the one we did and a new one they created. But after the lack of consumer service after an issue I would not go back.
