I absolutely love Foundation Island Yoga!! This place I call my happy place is the BOMB!! I LOVE IT!! If I had the opportunity to do this every single day and night I would! I'm up to 4 to 6 times a week every week. It's been 8 months since I've been practicing yoga and I feel perfect in my own skin. Continuing to gain muscle, strength, energy, flexibility and keeping 20lbs off. I'm more aware of my body, mind & spirit. I sleep better at night and nothing rarely hurts inside any longer as long as I keep doing yoga always. This is for all ages, new at yoga and experienced yogi's. Foundation Island Yoga has an amazing professional atmosphere that is uplifting, encouraging & just down right FUN LOVING. They have the most wonderful staff/teachers who inspire me to keep going each and every day. My journey is to keep continuing to learn how to do all the yoga poses correctly (spin alignment) and to eat more healthy. My favorite class is STILL Bikram BB26x2 and love the mediation classes..... so relaxing like you're on a cloud floating. Thank you Foundation Island Yoga for being here on Kent Island, MD!! There is an uplifting & empowerment that cannot be matched. Filled with more than just yoga classes. There is so many workshops, all different styles of yoga are represented, and a strong community base is formed at this studio. I first discovered Foundations in 2017 when I googled "yoga studios on Kent Island" as I searched for the perfect yoga studio that would help me make a return to the mat. The detailed descriptions of all the "flavors" of yoga instantly sparked my curiosity, and I just had to give it a try. I am so glad I finally walked into this studio! I've been doing yoga across the bridge in Annapolis for years, and I finally walked into Foundations a few weeks ago. It is hands down the best studio I've ever been to. Carol is an amazing teacher - energizing and knowledgable and inspiring. Frost and the other instructors I've had there have been excellent as well. The studio isn't huge, but it has more than enough space - I've never felt crammed (or been doused by someone else's sweat in a hot class.) One huge plus is that they offer a wide variety of classes, so it's not boring (Bikram is great, but just doing Bikram day in and day out can be too repetitive for me.) Foundations Island Yoga is outstanding! The Instructors truly care about each student and every class is a learning experience, in a comfortable, welcoming, positive and nurturing atmosphere. With the Instructors attention and focus on each student, at times, I feel like I'm the only student in the class. It's been a wonderful experience and I am thankful for the dedication, commitment and guidance offered in each and every class. There's no judgement or pressure, only encouragement, support and joy. Great place to learn. The studio is comfortable. The instructor is really knowledgeable and competent. She teaches several levels in each class so I was able to learn new things and tune up the poses that I have been doing for many years. I especially benefitted from the balance poses. This studio is amazing! They have a large variety of teachers and styles of yoga, all of them are high quality. This is an authentic yoga center in a small town, a peaceful and lovely place to practice. The owner and staff are kind, helpful, very friendly and cute. I drive 30 min to class everyday because I love this studio so much! I had only taken a couple classes when I came to foundations so I didn't know poses but the teachers and other yogis were so supportive and eager to help me learn.
