I won't just say this was a bad experience. I'll give all the details of why it was horrible. Things are most definitely NOT the same since the owner Denise left. My first float ever was at Paradise. Denise was amazing, giving info about floating and the benefits, showing me around to see the float rooms and the serenity room she set up for guests to relax after their float. I even did a video about her & my experience (she shared to the Facebook page too) I've brought family for floats and recommended to friends. Last night, I went for a float and brought my friend to cash in her christmas gift for her very first float. I bought 2 90 minute floats. I considered trying a new spot but wanted to return to where I've had such great experiences. The young lady at the reception desk was nice. Her instructions for the float was ok. Nothing like my prior experiences but I chalk that up to the fact that she's not the owner or really invested which is fine. I did notice that there were a lot of white spots on the wall but thought it might just be flaws in the wall. I got started in my room, showered, got in the tank, and the first thing I noticed was that the water was warmer than it should be. Float tank water is meant to be body temperature to help in the sensory deprivation of not feeling your body in the water. I figured I would acclimate. Then I started to feel a burning sensation everywhere, especially my arms. Again, I thought it was the salt and would pass. It did not. In fact it got worse. I couldn't ignore it. I tried but after maybe 20-30 minutes, it was too much and was distracting at the least. The only part of me that didn't tingle and burn was my face that wasn't in the water. The best way to describe the feeling is like spending too much time in an over chlorinated pool. I don't have sensitive skin, had no products on and showered before my float as instructed. I immediately took a shower, washing with soap and rinsing off multiple times. It didn't reduce the discomfort much. I put lotion on and it didn't help. The burning and tingling stayed all night and, while it's not as bad, I can still feel it today. While I was in my room, I saw the same white stuff all over the wall. It was dry residue of some kind. It was all over the mirror too. The plastic caddy they have attached to the wall holding q tips and misc was coated with white stuff. There were piles of it in the caddy. The top of the soap/shampoo/conditioner and the large shower head had a light layer of dust or something (I could see the top of the shower head as it was at an angle) After showering, I let the reception lady know what happened. I told her it wasn't her fault but I was not happy that I didn't get to have my float. I had already paid and asked if I could come back to have the float that I didn't get. She said she added it to my account. I looked in the other tank rooms (including the one my friend used) and it was the same. I took pics of it all My plan was to reach out to the manager or owner to talk about it and figure out when I could give them another try. I waited in the serenity room for my friend to finish. When we left the serenity room, there was a guy at the front desk with the young lady who was there. I asked if he was the manager. Turns out he was the new owner. I told him what happened, and that maybe the balance was off in the water solution. His first responses? First he said "this is my family's money" and that he'd give me 50% off next time. I said that I didn't expect to pay anything. His next response was that "no one's ever had a problem here before" and again went into how it's his family's money. And that the young lady didn't have the authority to give me another session. That she was just a young girl. That started to get me upset. Not only was there no acknowledgement of my experience or "I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience", but he completely dismissed my experience and got argumentative. When I described the burning sensation as being like a high chlorine pool, he said "we don't use chlorine", clearly not even hearing me. I mentioned the dirty state of the rooms. He said, "now I'm not giving you anything". I told him I'm happy to show him the dirt and he just got madder. He said "we just redid the entire place!". I was just shocked to have a business owner respond to a concern with such dismissal, lack of concern, and outright aggression. This unprofessional and escalating behavior made me more and more upset. I regret that I let him get me so upset that I yelled right back at him. It got heated. He told me to get out and never come back, continuing even as I was leaving. Like I was ever going to go back after the way he treated me as a customer. Not to mention the impact it had on my friend seeing his behavior. This is not a business or owner that I will ever go back to, bring/refer other people to and will let anyone who mentions float therapy read more

Made an appointment for first timer but had to cancel and was already charged. Was well within the time the policy states and it's been over a week I have been trying to contact the business, left voice mails, sent email with no response. Unsure of this business practices because it is my first time with them but has not left a good impression on quality of service. Still waiting for call back or response. read more

My husband is coming up for some back surgery so his back is very very sore. Tried this floating thing to see if it would help ease some of his pain - it sure did! The owner, Will, was great in getting us set up and explaining the system. Floating involved being in a bath about 7" deep, warm water flooded with epsom salts. Floating was totally effortless. The floating chamber has music (if wanted), a soothing blue light (if wanted) and 'stars' in the ceiling (if wanted). I preferred the pitch blackness of the depravation chamber. It's AMAZING what one thinks about and dreams about in a depravation chamber. So, did the soak help his aching back? yep, it sure did. We are back there Saturday for another hour of blissful floating. As a bonus, Will told us that he can set the temperature of any room to our wants. There are 3 rooms so room #2 is going to be set to 100 degrees for our next visit on Saturday! Give this a try. It certainly helped my aching joints and John's back! read more

Went here just for a different experience and it was really nice! I'm sure through continued use I could see the benefit. I would definitely like to go for an extended amount of time. Trying to find something new that would help with my inflammation and give me an opportunity to relax, so I gave floating a try. Paradise float spa and the owners are awesome. As I arrived she insured I understood everything there was about getting the most rewarding experience with my first float session. Being a little apprehensive about being in a confined space with no lights, and floating in water, I was a little nervous about trying this in the first place. But my back and knees and the stress related with Covid made me decide to give it a shot. First of all, the place is immaculate, everything is spic and span clean and sterilized. They provide hand sanitizers almost everywhere you go. A full-service restroom has plenty of soaps and cleaning supplies to keep you clean. Also after completing your float there is a full-service shower within your room and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to make sure you get all the excess salt off your body. I have to say after about five minutes of getting used to the water and finding my balance points I fell asleep and after my time elapsed I am merged feeling relieved, and pain-free. Even a few hours after my visit I still do not feel the stress that I had prior to going into the capsule to complete my float session. If you haven't tried floating this is the place to try if you're a little apprehensive there's plenty a videos on their website that shows how great your experience can be. Not new to floating but new to this place. Would not come back. Did a couple float rented 2 rooms hot and regular was given 1 robe between the 2 of us. Didn't realize that we stayed 30 minutes pass our time wasn't given any warnings and was charged an extra $80. The place was to small no separate area to get cleaned up as I'm drying my hair the next couple is coming in. Rust in the tub. Over all out dated, and not worth coming to. So many to choose from choose another. read more

The staff was very friendly!! However when you enter the facility it smells like a port a pottie air freshener. The facility was not very clean and the area to get ready in was not user friendly. If someone would have been coming into float after us we would not have had enough space to get ready for dinner. No robes provided read more

This was my first float spa experience and I came in with no idea what was going to happen. Luckily this place took care of me and left me with no doubts or concerns. I don't usually go for spa treatments, but I was especially interested in this one because it would give me a feeling that I could never get anywhere else - effortless floating and complete sensory deprivation. The other special thing about this kind of spa treatment is that it is just you - there is no masseuse, or clinician. Just you and two or three buttons in a private room to yourself. There is something especially relaxing about that aspect. I recommend coming to this spa at least once just to experience that feeling and see if you enjoy it. If I could give any advice to newcomers (apart from what is already on the Paradise Float Spa website), it would be the following: - Bring a brush/comb for before and after floating - Bring deodorant for after floating - Bring your favorite face lotion for after floating because your face may become dry (the spa offers scented body lotion) I really loved this spa. I didn't feel rushed out of there, and I love the idea of the lounge for after your session. It was fun coming here with my boyfriend, because we could enjoy our tea and share our experiences in the lounge afterward. I recommend coming with a friend. read more

I had the most relaxing/rejuvenating experience here. It was my first time trying this type of experience, I will be returning for sure! Facilities were sparkling clean, with lovely touches from nice seating/ music/ tea post float to the owner and her demeanor. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all questions before we started. I fell asleep pretty soon after getting in the tank, I didn't think I would but I was THAT relaxed. I left feeling so calm and rested, it was the perfect was to end my weekend, I went on a sunday afternoon to regroup for the week ahead. First time going to a float spa....won't be my last! The only other time I have lost touch with time and space was doing yoga nidra....the experiences parallel for sure. Paradise Float Spa is beautiful decorated, they have wonderful rain showers to bathe before and after your experience. It's very clean and the furnishings and atmosphere reflect zen. Once my hour was over, I showered and dressed and had a night time tea. I am so very relaxed and am looking forward to a peaceful night of sleep. It was a great experience and my only regret is its a little more of a drive than I would like....but having said that, it's well worth it! read more

Who knew floating was going to be so therapeutic! I did my first float at Paradise after seeing them at the Holistic Healthfair. My husband and I made it a date night and did 90 min float. It truly was a sensory deprivation for me. I saw, heard, and smelled NOTHING. The temperature of the water was such that it matched your body temperature so you really didn't feel hot or cold. You have to try it to truly experience what it is like to not be stimulated. Afterward, we felt SO good. It was like someone hit the reset button and my mind was clear of clutter and I could take on the world. It was more restorative than a yoga class. Floating is a must for anyone that needs to clear their mind and reset their body. I also went during my Third Trimester and it felt amazing to just float. I was actually able to sleep that night. I hope to be back soon. We usually try to float and then do a date night at Blackwall Hitch next door. read more

On the plus side they were starry lights above that could be kept on or off. The hard surface floor is a better idea than other carpeted float spa floors. The worst part at Paradise was the smell in the tank. Something added into the water had a cloying sickly sweet smell that gave me a terrible headache. I thought it might have been the toiletries on the shower wall, but when the tank re-filled and I opened the door to check - that is where the strong smell was coming from. I had to shower again at home with tea tree soap to get rid of the smell. My experience with a different float spa in VA included no smell. I believe they had air purifiers. Sad I can't return to Paradise Float due to the smell. read more

I had a horrible experience this morning at Float Annapolis. Their float chamber was pitch black vinyl, smelled like mold, exposed PVC piping. Nothing like Paradise Float Spa. I actually left because I cannot be in a pitch black room with no lights. My anxiety would've thrown me into a panic. I was so thankful that Paradise had an opening this afternoon. I was able to relax and I actually fell asleep. I may actually sign up for the membership. read more

The drive is scenic, the office park is nice, park in the back and walk down front, the spa is beautiful and cozy. Great amenities and new tubs. First experience using a float spa, and I would definitely go back! Denise was extremely friendly and very informative. I felt relaxed and refreshed when my hour float was up. My body refused to relax at first but after 10 minutes it was bliss. The spa was very clean and there was also an area to wind down and grab some tea or water afterwards. read more

Extreme relaxation! I wanted to try this because I'm in my third trimester of pregnancy and having a lot of discomfort and back pain. This was amazing for relieving my tired muscles and I highly recommend for anyone who has any kind of pain issues. I was amazed at how extremely relaxed I felt afterward. If you have never tried float therapy, you should really check out Paradise Float Spa! The facility is well appointed and very clean. The float rooms are spacious and contain everything you need for a rejuvenating experience. After your float, you can use the post float room to have hot tea or water, sample essential oils and sit to center your thoughts before returning to the real world. Floating has been a wonderful addition to my wellness journey and I highly recommend this local establishment. read more
