I interviewed at least six companies and Jeff's was the most impressive. He was always on time, communicated clearly, was patient about changes to the project, and was upfront about costs. At the beginning of the project he openly shared his subcontractor bids so everything was transparent. He happily worked alongside subcontractors that we had separately hired to do a full house rewire. And his crew was always polite, tidy, efficient, and did great work! We have no hesitation recommending Jeff to others, and will be calling him in the future for more projects. The only question is if he will agree to come back (we were kind of a pain in the butt, but Jeff has the patience of a saint!).

She was…read morevery friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job with a "ballpark estimate" so I could see if it was anything I could reasonably afford this year. She was also very helpful in letting me know the area suppliers that they use in case we couldn't find a sample we liked in the showroom. She was super responsive to emails and after my initial measurements I had a quote back same day. Templating/final measurements and install were both scheduled at the same time and the person helping me on that was very friendly. Everything was done in about a month from my initial deposit! The counters look great, the installers were very nice and professional, Travis in the office was a huge help during demo and I'm very pleased with the final outcome. Also, it was the best price around! They had all the major box stores and even Ikea beat. Thanks Tops!

5 times they delivered my island damaged or defective. After their 7th visit to my home (2 times to…read moreinspect), and the 5th piece of quartz, I gave up on them and accepted a defect. Tops should have been checking the product thoroughly before delivery and installation but instead they blamed everyone else. We have more projects but will never use Tops again. They were literally unable to provide an undamaged piece of quartz and they didn't seem to care at all.

I hired Granite Gallery to do an extensive remodel on my home...all new cabinets (2 bathrooms and…read morekitchen), quartz countertops, convert 1 tub/shower to a walk-in shower, and new flooring throughout. Gary (the owner) came out to take measurements and I discussed with him and showed him the damage to some of my cabinets including the upstairs bathroom vanity. When he sent me the rendering, I asked for a change to the bathroom cabinets from just cabinet doors to a door and 2 small drawers. We agreed to the change via email. When they came to do demolition, they left the upstairs vanity intact so that I had running water in a sink somewhere in my house. I planned to keep my original sinks from the bathrooms and one of the toilets but they discarded the downstairs sink and the top of the tank from the toilet that I was going to keep. I did ask that they provide new sinks because it was an error on their part but I did go buy a 2nd new toilet myself. When they installed the new cabinets downstairs (kitchen and 1 bathroom), the bathroom vanity only had the cabinet doors without the 2 small drawers I had requested. I was confused but thought it must not have been doable in such a small space since my new cabinets were NOT custom. Work continued and eventually they were wrapping things up...or so I thought. They brought the quartz countertop for the upstairs vanity but there was no new vanity yet. I called Gary and he said it wasn't included in the original order but he said he'd get that ordered. It was 3 to 4 weeks later that they were finally coming out to install the vanity, countertop, etc. as well as finally install the door/drawer pulls on all my cabinets. I work from home but was very busy in meetings that day so only checked the work after they'd left. That is when I discovered that the layout I had requested WAS possible so the upstairs vanity had the cabinet and 2 small drawers. I had paid for this project with an upfront payment of more than half the cost of the project, a mid project payment, and then a "final" payment as things were beginning to wrap up but before I realized they didn't have my final cabinet. I was then contacted to pay 1 final invoice for the upstairs vanity and the knobs/pulls...both of these items were part of my original order. I tried to stop into The Granite Gallery showroom to speak to Gary in person but he was out so one of the girls had him email me in which he attached the original rendering of the cabinets and pointed out that only 1 bathroom vanity was ordered and I agreed to it. In my response, I attached the email conversation where I agreed to a different configuration. I had also let him know that they didn't cut a hole at the base of that upstairs vanity for the heat to vent out into the bathroom. After more than a week when I hadn't heard back, I reached out again via email and received an email from his assistant informing me that Gary was out so she was receiving his emails and answering. She said that Gary had decided to write off the upstairs cabinet and to enjoy my remodelled home. I sent a response that the heat vent still needed to be addressed and I have been ignored...no response. Overall, the workmanship was good and the foreman was very helpful but the lack of decent communication and follow through on The Granite Gallery's part was horrible and now I feel like I've been blown off because they screwed up on the cabinet layout and I have it in writing. I would NOT recommend doing business with this company.

Max did the template and installation was very informative and quality minded. B&R flooring is truly incredible. Our house was damaged during a bad pipe burst during a freeze…read morelast winter and we had to suddenly replace all the tile in our kitchen, laundry room, fireplace surround, and downstairs bathrooms due to water damage. B&R helped turn a terrible experience into a silver lining opportunity to beautify our home. Brian C, our contact there, was amazingly helpful, attentive, and patient as we wrapped our heads around the scope of our project and our vast tile needs. He answered all of our questions and did not pressure us into making a hasty decision. B&R's price, selection, and range of products was excellent compared to other suppliers. We were able to get terracotta, terrazzo, slate, Zellige tile, subway tile- all at the same place. We ended up leaning into a handmade aesthetic with glossy greens, blues, and earthen hues. I am beyond happy with how our project turned out and the customer service at B&R was top notch. They have earned us as repeat customers for any of our future projects for sure. I was impressed with how efficient the team was and their attention to detail (lots of measuring and math!) They carried B&R's commitment to customer service throughout the job, even when they were asked to stop and take a different approach. The wood floors are about 3/4's complete and look great. The crew who did the carpet strretching were outstanding working hard all day. Couldn't have asked for a better job. Carpet looks new. The hardwood crew is the same - really great work. Very professional looking. My thanks to Carl and all contractors for job well done. The color and the seams, however, aren't a good match. I feel confident they will make adjustments to correct the difference.

We had no contract with American Built Fence for replacing our gate. Only an estimate was given to us by our neighbor. The estimate was for 8 feet of fence and a gate, when in reality it was only 3 feet of fence and a gate. We were never contacted in any way (phone, email, text, or in person) by American Built Fence about replacing our gate before, during or after the project. I came home one day towards the end of our neighbor's project to the gate replaced. However, the gate was 8" in the air and did not have a handle. Shortly after, American Built finished our neighbors project and left the site. They never had any contact with us about how the gate turned out or any other contact and any other time. And they left our side of the fence and gate area a mess including soil, large chunks of concrete, as well as pieces of our neighbor's shed they had demolished. In addition, during the project they were drinking (and drunk) on the job. They finished off a 12 pack between three guys one afternoon. To make matters worse they even left their garbage (including beer bottles) on our property. (Wish I would have taken pictures!) They also damaged our vegetation including breaking branches that were a few feet off the fence line. A few weeks later when I was contacted about paying, we called and voiced our complaints (finally realizing they weren't coming back to clean up). We told them we would pay the amount they billed (which was higher than it should have been - based on 8 feet of fence versus 3 feet), but they needed to come back and lower the gate to the correct height as well as put on a handle. I text (which is how they were [very unprofessionally] contacting me) and they didn't text me back about coming back to fix/complete the job. When they didn't get back to me, I called the office and was told the lady was out of the office and would give me a call back. She never called back. On September 1, 2020 just 5 weeks later, I received a letter from a debt collector and realized they must have immediately turned me into a debt collector rather than trying to work things out with us.

In the fall of 2019 my wife and I decided that we needed a large deck put on the back of our house…read more My wife has some mobility issues so we had specific requirements that we needed in this deck. We got several bids and after meeting with Shane we knew he was the guy. He helped us design a beautiful 300sqft Trex deck that allows for our BBQ and entertaining passions. Throughout the process we faced a lot of setbacks at the hands of Mother Nature. Our setbacks included terrible rain, some serious flooding. Supplies being delayed and the supplier almost trying to crush their company truck and then additional delays caused by the beginning of COVID-19 closures. None of these setbacks I would directly blame on the contractor. They also had to get rid of an employee and got backed up on other work. So in the end the construction took a lot longer than expected. However we now have the perfect deck with custom low slope stairs that are perfect for my wife. The level of craftsmanship is exactly what we were looking for and now our deck is beautiful, solid and makes the exact statement we wanted it to on our house. We have already used Shane for some fence repairs and we would not hesitate to use them again for other projects. In the end like all projects we ended up a little over budget and it took longer than we had anticipated but we got an amazing deck that we love and that has already impressed neighbors.

Pretty disappointed in our new flooring. Will say that Dee is the only reason I was happy at any…read morepoint in this transaction! She tried really hard to help whenever she could and was really sweet and polite. But there was just too many issues. The first install team showed up with no masks during covid. When asked to wear them for my safety, they said no, citing that they don't work according to WHO (really?). They left and I called the store. The sub was claiming to them that he has a lung condition. Doesn't match with his story to me and doesn't excuse the 2 other guys who weren't wearing them and said they didn't even have any. The second install team came the next day and what was supposed to be a 2 day job turned into 5 because they were down 1 guy and this one worked SLOW. Multiple times they scratched the new floors when moving our appliances which we paid them to do assuming they wouldn't scratch them. Passive aggressive attitude was given when asked to fix it or he just covered it up so I wouldn't see until later. In some instances he just marked the floor with a black sharpie and didn't even try to make it blend. There's a poorly cut edge under the stairs where the edge of the board is visible where the carpet on the stairs starts. Found it with my foot while vacuuming and really surprised I didn't cut myself. Multiple boards are not clicked in properly. One has a cut from one side to another that I'm being told by another of their subs is part of the texture, but no other board in the entire 900 Sq ft of lvp is that way and no other contractor that has seen it agrees. Just looks like another deep scratch being covered up. There are 2 boards with chips in them. And to top it all off, when I asked the sub to fix an entire row of boards during the job because they weren't clicked in properly, he went outside and got on the phone and started using the f word in my reference telling someone that he had to redo the whole living room because of a f'n scratch. My husband and 2 year old got to hear the whole thing from the open garage. Our fridge was dented (which the company says they've never done and wouldn't acknowledge it was their fault even though the sub told me it was, and they did absolutely nothing about it), they threw away quarter round we were supposed to reuse so we had to go buy new quarter round, and all of our baseboards were broken which they claim they said it would happen and it was in their contract that they won't fix (I was sent the contract and do not see that language). They paid for new baseboards but I still had to pay for install and painting which cost me an extra 1k for another company to do it, much better than what the crappy sub wanted to charge me in cash under the table. Staples left in the carpet and in the grass, pieces of flooring left all over my yard, they stole our broom that looked like theirs but in much better condition (which they said they returned but never got it back).... The company sent out another sub to look at the issue with boards being being clicked in wrong and the chips and crack. He didn't wear a mask except for the moment I opened the door and since the base had already been installed, he said he would have to take it all off to fix it right but other boards may be damaged in the process. Not the answer I wanted to hear so at this point, I just give up trying to fix it if that's all the company can offer me. All in all, we'll never recommend this company to anyone. Most of it has to do with the subs crappy work but I'm really bummed about how little the company seemed to care about fixing the problems (other than Dee). Really thought abbey carpet was a good name but very disappointed.
