I worked with Carl to get the older carpet stretched in a recently purchased home, then later an extension of hardwood floors into family room from kitchen & hallway. The wood floors are about 3/4's complete and look great. The crew who did the carpet strretching were outstanding working hard all day. Couldn't have asked for a better job. Carpet looks new. The hardwood crew is the same - really great work. Very professional looking. My thanks to Carl and all contractors for job well done. The color and the seams, however, aren't a good match. Abbey Carpet installed carpeting in the upstairs of our house when the wood flooring disappeared after 7 months of waiting. Not always patiently, but everyone at Abbey was very nice to work with. Customer service is terrible. They are nonresponsive to calls or emails. I made it clear how I wanted the laminate flooring installed two months before installation. They installed the laminate planks in the wrong direction. The job was 50% done when I discovered the error. I made a call and told the rep I was dealing with that I was not happy. He did nothing. The installation continued, in incorect direction. Now the job is finished and I have an ugly floor that I don't like. An example of the customer getting screwed. We chose to shop for carpet at Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors. Carl was a very good salesman explaining the different qualities of carpet and various price ranges. After taking a couple samples home and getting the first estimate we realized we needed to look for other styles we could afford. After a little more shopping and trying a couple more samples in the room we chose a carpet that was great. The best part of the whole experience was the installation. Very poor customer service. The gentleman working said he was available for questions, but didn't show any interest in helping us determine the best flooring for our need. The owner, salesperson, and installer showed up to look at problems. In the meantime, I discovered more bubbles, and that they didn't bother to re-install the floor tracks for 3 sets of closet sliding doors. There was a pile of glue on the floor in the corner of one room. Glue on the front of the dishwasher, glue-y fingerprints all over the place. Broken floor register (and I had bought them all new). Bottom line is that they went around with a little rag cleaning some fingerprints, and tried to glue down some of the bubbles. They refused to take responsibility for putting the appliances back, and they couldn't find the floor tracks for sliding closet doors that they had apparently discarded. I'm hiring a contractor to re-install appliances and install new closet door tracks. We'll see if the bubbles in the flooring re-appear or if they actually fixed the problem. Owner claims bill will be adjusted, and that they'll pay for my contractor's work fixing their shoddy work. So, whether that turns into another battle - we'll see. In the meantime, I'm not giving them any more stars until this is finally resolved, and then they may get one more (bumping them up to two). All in all, an aggravating afternoon. At least the owner apologized for hanging up on me. read more

He scheduled Martin Flooring to do the installation. Alberto, and his brother, did a great job replacing the carpets for laminate flooring in our whole house. Allison helped us choose a carpet and did the measuring. She spent a great deal of time assisting us in choosing just the right carpet and color. She ordered larger samples and allowed us to take samples home for as long as we needed. The installation was top-notch. The installer was on time and even stayed until 8:00 p.m. to finish the job! I would absolutely agree with the review left by another yelp user, Sarah. Her review perfectly sums up what we are feeling at this point. What a nightmare this whole experience has been. We paid in cash up front over a month ago for our wood Floors to be installed. Dave has literally been the only helpful person at the whole establishment. Our tenant has had to put his entire life on hold and is forced to live in a unfinished condo. We have used Abbey for 4 jobs total now and we really cannot believe how terrible this job has been. Colin and Carl were both unprofessional and did not communicate or follow up. The installers showed up with no knowledge of what the job entailed and took way longer than projected each time. We are reasonable and had we been given a realistic finish date we would have gladly set aside time. We have had to miss work and move our schedules due to their lack of planning and it's incredibly frustrating at this point. I would seriously recommend going elsewhere. The floors do plook really nice and will HOPEFULLY be done tomorrow but it really was not worth the hassle. read more

Abbey Rocks! So do Blake & Lori Woodland, owners! We went to Great Floors in mid-May and picked out new carpeting & flooring for our whole house. Our sales person was Assistant Manager Don. He had a man out the next day to measure our house. Then, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. By mid-June, Don still didn't have a quote for us & kept giving us one excuse after another, via email & phone, for not having it done (I'm in a meeting & don't have time for you today. I'll have it done by 7 tonight (but didn't). My allergies are really bad today & my eyes are bothering me too much, blah, blah, blah). At one point he even scheduled to meet with us but didn't bother to tell us he was going to be off work for 3 days after we emailed him back a date & showed up to meet with non-existent Don... Finally, by the end of June he got us a partial quote, carpeting only, of around $24,000.00. We told him we'd wait for the rest of the flooring quote and never heard another word from him. At this point, (now the end of June), we were totally done with Don & Great Floors and we'd read numerous bad reviews about this place and seeing their sign saying they "Beat Abbey Carpets today", we took our business & $30,000.00 to Abbey Carpets and are very happy with the service & products Abbey Carpets provided us and can't wait to order our new counter tops from them next! Lori was instrumental in helping me either blindly replicate what I had spent so much time picking at GF or showing me other great ideas! She has a real talent with colors and flooring! Blake was super detailed when measuring our house and the installers are really nice, knowledgeable guys who did a beautiful job installing our flooring! I wouldn't recommend Great Floors to anybody but I have been recommending Abbey to everyone who comes to admire our new flooring now! read more

I ordered some vinyl flooring on June 29th and was told I could pick it up in a week. I showed up a week later for pick up and was then told It would be ready on July 18th. When I asked why was I told a week and now it's going to be 3 weeks, he had no answer, just showing me the computer screen. I had already made arrangements for installing with my contractor and had to change dates because of this. In the future I will go somewhere else for my flooring needs. read more

Abbey Floors bailed me out of a bad situation. I too had a bad experience with Great Floors. I was getting vinyl kitchen flooring and, as it was a small space and had lots of doorways, I requested there be no seams across traffic paths. I told every person I spoke to at Great Floors about my needs. They assured me it could be done. When the installer arrived he had PRE-CUT the floor into 3 pieces, ALL of which would make seams across doorways. I sent them away. Abbey assured me their installer Jim Anderson would be able to do the install MY WAY, if I didn't mind waiting. A month later I have a beautiful SEAMLESS kitchen floor. It cost a little more to get Jim but it's so worth it! THANK YOU ABBEY!!! read more

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I can't say enough about Abbey Capitol, and in particular Kerry. My husband and I recently moved to the Olympia area and bought a house that had a ton of white carpet on the main floor! With two dogs and a toddler, we knew we'd need to replace that, and we wanted to look at an alternative wood product. We went to Home Depot and Lowe's before heading over to Abbey. Kerry was amazing - she is extremely knowledgeable and we received a level of service we never would've gotten at either Home Depot or Lowe's. She consulted with us on a number of products, and even let us take samples over to our new home to review them under lighting in specific rooms, etc. I cannot say enough about how great our experience was, and we will certainly be customers of Abbey's for our future home improvement needs! read more

We will never use this place again. They seemed good to begin with, but then that all changed. We ordered laminate flooring and the first estimate did not have the price we were originally quoted - it had a price that was like $0.50/sqft higher - so the sales person had to adjust it and send it back. Then, after we agreed on the price, the salesperson told us "oops!", she forgot to add the flooring for the master bedroom so the total was going to be $450 more than what we were quoted. This pissed me off because I had gotten an estimate from another company and decided on Capitol Flooring because their price was better. However, after they added the flooring they missed, they were no longer prices better. I put up a stink and got them to split the difference since it was their mistake. So we proceeded to have them come in and install vinyl flooring in a bathroom, and this started a whole new set of problems. They didn't install an underlayment (and hadn't even asked if we wanted/needed an underlayment) under the vinyl so the flooring was too low for the vanity and the tile surrounding the tub. So we called our salesperson and explained that we needed an underlayment but they had never asked about it (this was our first time doing a vinyl floor), and the salesperson proceeded to blame us for not knowing that we needed it. Are you freaking kidding me???!!? I'm not a flooring expert! They're supposed to be! They totally are not. So my husband ended up arguing with Blake (the owner?) for a few days before he admitted that the salesperson made a mistake and he agreed to so the install again after we had an underlayment installed. So the guys came out to do the install again, and this time they didn't extend the adhesive (or whatever makes it stick to the underlayment) all the way to the edges so all of the edges are loose. We have baseboards that go around most of the bathroom and they'll cover these edges, but we're now going to have to install a quarter round molding under the shower and around the tub in order to cover these inadequately done areas. I conveyed this to our salesperson via email and she responded without even saying anything about it, but simply asking if she could charge our card for the remaining balance. They didn't even pretend to care about us as customers. All in all, this company is TERRIBLE and we will NEVER recommend them to anyone. The owner argues with customers and obviously doesn't make sure his salespeople know what they're doing, and doesn't take responsibility for the actions of his company. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. *UPDATE* There was no subfloor when the salesperson came out to measure; it had already been demoed so the salesperson should have told us that we needed to install a new one before they installed the vinyl. This company simply made mistake after mistake and handled it poorly when we brought problems to their attention (problems that were all caused by their untrained salesperson). Save your money, and your sanity, and go somewhere else. read more

I am satisfied with the product and the installation but the salesperson was most frustrating to work with. She paid no attention to detail, was late meeting me at the house to take measurements because she was at a SW address instead of SE. Not all the padding needed to be replaced, but trying to adjust the invoice to correctly reflect what was actually installed has been a nightmare. I asked to have the estimate redone without the padding and she couldn't figure it out. I have gone to the store in person multiple times to try and get resolution. I am more than willing to pay for what I got but I am not willing to pay for something I did not get. read more

Went to store and was help by Allison. She showed us a few products and scheduled to come measurer our home on 6/28/17. She arrived and took the floor measurements and kitchen countertop measurements about 15 minutes. So excited to get the flooring done in our whole home & new countertops and tile backsplash and replace the tile shower in master bedroom. I called to let her know that the flooring sample my husband pick was not going to work and told her I would like Hickory flooring. She stated she would have the bid to me on Friday. I called after not receiving the bid on Friday and left a message with my e-mail address. I called 5 days letter and left her a message on her VM. I still have not heard back and have decided to move on and look somewhere else to spend my money. What a waste of time! read more

Until recently, Capitol Floors has done a very nice job of suppling our carpet needs in both of our homes and for that, I would have rewarded them 4-5 stars. However we recently called them out to do a stretching of a carpet they installed. They quoted a price beforehand, high enough that my wife thought the were joking (our fault to not clarify). We live nearby and the job took 1/2 hr but they charged 2hrs worth of work (their minimum) at $200. So I paid 1.5hrs of work not done. They said this pricing is standard...not!- per another installer I spoke with. I asked for a reduction; they were not willing to charge me ONLY for the work done. Sadly, I cannot recommend them any longer. read more

Abbey installed our carpet in our master bedroom just over a year ago and they did a nice job other than we ended up with a 5 1/2 foot by 12 foot remnant which seemed a bit excessive for a 13 x 15 room. But we went ahead and ordered luxury vinyl plank flooring for our kitchen, dining room and living room for our renovation this year. Again, we ended up with a 20 % overage in material for the flooring planks, 50% more bullnose than we needed and not enough quarter round to complete the job. We asked if they would buy it back and they said there would be a restocking fee. (THEY came out and did the measurements) After the first installer showed up and took 12 hours 9 am to 9pm on both Friday and Saturday to install the floor without completing the bullnose around the stairway because he didn't know how to install it and left planks that were not snapped together properly, we called our salesperson at Abbey. The salesperson said they would send out the boss to check out the issues. After not coming for a few days as promised, he finally showed up to access the issues and said he would be back to fix them and complete the installation. He finally showed up a week later with his kids and ripped up 90% of the floor. They used up the majority of the excess while reinstalling the flooring and offered us the quarter round free of charge to complete the install properly. They also installed the "flush" mount bullnose OVER the laminate planks around the stairway opening rather than "FLUSH" as advertised. This time there were even more planks not snapped together properly AND he walked off with 3 of our tools that he had to borrow to do the job. We did get those tools back after we pointed it out and drove into town to the shop to retrieve them. I was going to have Abbey recover the stairs with the huge remnant we had left from the master bedroom job, plus a few yards more, but at this point, I don't want them in my house ever again. We wanted to "shop local" so went to Abbey Capitol Floors for kitchen vinyl flooring. They had a good choice of materials at competitive prices We brought home several samples and made a selection. The salesperson, Dave Weaver, came out, measured, and gave us a quote. The warehouse had our selection in stock, so within about a week, we had a new kitchen floor. The salesman was helpful without being "pushy", the installer was exceptionally careful, efficient, and capable. Both the salesman and the installer were professional, courteous, and punctual. The floor looks great. I can't think of a single thing they could have done better. read more
