Had one great experience followed by an awful experience.. the bartender makes a huge difference

What used to be one of my favorite places to eat has gone downhill in food quality and in service. The last three visits have gotten progressively worse and today was the last time we'll ever go. A 90 minute wait for food and a chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries that weren't even on par with what you'd expect at kwik star down the street. Heard multiple waitresses openly using cuss words, and making you feel like an inconvenience. This place truly needs new leadership because the location and building are great. read more

I've been to the Foundry Food + Tap before and thought the food was pretty good so I decided to go back. That was a mistake. It was homecoming weekend so it was very busy, but we were able to be sat outside upon arrival. The table was dirty and never wiped down, and the experience went down hill from there. Our server was so busy she rarely checked on us for refills, etc. After waiting over an hour, our food came out cold and one of my party's meal was undercooked. It was an awful experience. Not to mention there was also a party going on so it was lots of people who came outside to sit around the fire pit. We informed the server about the food and her attitude was awful, she packed our plates up and went inside. I honestly felt bad for her but wasn't sure why she had an attitude with us. I couldn't pay my bill and get out of there fast enough. I don't think I'll be back. read more

The staff is super nice. We were greeted shortly after inside. While we were waiting for the rest of our party, we waited outside next to the fire pit to stay warm. It looks like a sports bar inside with tons of TVs with comfy seats. The drinks and food were good. Not in pics but we also ordered their flavored mules and my husband enjoyed the blueberry mule. The cheese curds were good and you get plenty of it. The fish and chips were good. It wasn't dry. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. On the downside, they charge a supplemental fee ($1.89) and according to google, it means "Restaurants add supplemental fees to their bills to cover increased costs, such as higher employee wages, inflation, and credit card processing fees. " so that dropped a star for this review. read more

Unexplained charge. Went there with a friend Monday afternoon, August 4 around 3 PM. Order the brussels sprouts ordered the avocado egg rolls or asparagus and a couple of other things. We really like this place. First visit was in August while visiting friends. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. Food and service were great. We visited again Friday night. Our waitress was nice but overall service was terrible. Drinks took way too long. Another friend was joining us and she was told should not got through the dining room to look for us or go out to the patio. She finally walked around the outside and found us. She never did get to order as our waitress disappeared. There was a party going on and they were understaffed. This falls more on management and not the servers. It took forever to get our check and honestly we could have walked and no one would have noticed since it was an hour between Checkins. The food was great and the waitress was the best. But the manager on duty, a heavy set blond woman was the rudest hostess we've ever encountered. We asked to sit at a booth and she stated she couldn't because she had a large party coming and the booths were completely empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. We had 27 people (12 kids, 15 adults) in our party who were in town for a softball tournament on November 23rd (5pm). 1. Service: Slow driven by the fact they didn't have enough staff managing our party and another party of about 12-15 in our section. Everyone at my table didn't get water and our drink order was slow. At the girl's table a server slammed down a glass of water on the table and spilled it over one of the girls without a thoughtful apology. 2. Food: The girls who ordered a grilled chicken Alfredo dish said it was undercooked. I ordered the bone in steak and it was well done and I asked for medium with a little pink. Food came late but they did subtract appetizers off bill to compensate for lackluster experience. We won't be back. read more

While on vacation visiting a friend, we stopped in for a late dinner. It was a busier night, but we got sat right away. It had a cool vibe & the dim type of lighting that just relaxes you. First - drinks. Plenty of options! While looking at the food menu, we were a bit overwhelmed, as there were soo many choices. Our waitress was great & so patient with us. After a bit of discussion, we chose nachos & a maduzi salad. They were not messing around with the house made sarracha queso & pepperjack cheese. These nachos had a kick we were not prepared for! Made a stop in Bettendorf, IA and found myself hungry. I needed something with a Chilli's vibe (e.g. big selection, easy on the wallet) and saw Foundry. The service was really good; the entire staff was pleasant, got the food out quick, and checked on my table consistently. The pricing was perfect; we're talking $25 a person (including a beverage) and most importantly the food was good. I had the Atlantic salmon + potatoes (it wasn't quite mashed potatoes.... Surprise find!!!! Did a search gif places on 80 just after 88 as we traveled on our road trip west We stopped in for lunch... hubby enjoyed the on tap list... ordered the Brussels Sprouts with sriracha... these are yummy! Thrilled they serve Coke products (my fav). Our main was the mushroom Swiss burger and it was phenomenal... two 4 ounce patty's that were cooked perfectly... we asked for light seasoning and they did great! The menu is HUGE!!!! lots of options... unfortunately we are just driving thru.... Hope it's time for a meal on our way back east.... Plus super nice and knowledgeable servers... we had Jenn (Jennifer T) and had amazing service! We walked in 12:15am after a rough, late baseball game. My son and I were sat quickly and the friendly, patient and accommodating wait staff got our order in and out to us in a timely manner considering a team walked in behind us. I've managed a restaurant before and I would come back just for the service, but my burger and curds were delicious! 10 out of 10. Will eat here again. read more

Tasty food and great service. My husband ordered the fish and chips, the fish was very crispy and French fries were also fresh. I had the white chicken chili - so good!!! Not too spicy with all the right seasonings. They have tv's in the bar area and a good draft beer selection. The menu is large, so you should be able to find something you like. read more

This is a cool looking spot and a wonderful location if you are in town for a tournament at the TKB Sports Complex. Unfortunately, the price and the flavors pull down the stars. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp. First of all, Bonefish should get that name trademarked. They are the original and the best, and when you rip off the name, you'd better have your flavors on point. The Foundry did not. We would never order this again here. I ordered the BLT Salad w/Avocado. The romaine is grilled, and sadly, that's really all I could taste, the grill marks. The toppings and dressing were good, but the lettuce was over powering. We also ordered the sirloin with fries and fruit side. The steak was cooked well, but needed more seasoning. Could've been better. Went for Sunday brunch (22.99 each plus tax) Coffee = not hot. Returned, still not hot. They took it off the bill (thanks!) most items on buffet = not hot, despite being full and being in closed chafing dishes. (and yummy) Lukewarm rice and salmon (salmon was good regardless) Poor wilted presentation on grape/veggie/lettuce salad, too bad because it had potential to be delicious but was soggy and floppy instead of crisp and fresh. ACTION STATION! The action station is their term for their Eggs Benedict, omelette, crepe station where the cook makes your item to order. It was pretty good. 2 out of 3 of our party liked their Eggs Benny. Complaint was that the semi-cold asparagus was taken from a wet container and dripped water all over the cold pre-toasted English muffin, which wasn't appealing. The pulled pork Eggs Benny was good. Omelets were excellent, and fast, and made to order. Nice job, captain of the action station. No suggestions for improvements besides make sure the food is hotter. When I arrived it wasn't busy. Sat at bar. Ordered the Connecticut lobster roll with fries. When my food arrived I had no silverware or napkins another server noticed right away and kindly brought me silver and a napkin. The lobster roll that I had ordered according to the description in the menu was supposed to be on a new England role split on the top for the lobster to be in but what I got was a slice of Texas toast, grilled folded in half. With a wilted piece of lettuce and lobster it also was supposed to come with melted butter to dip my lobster roll in. The melted butter was not butter whether it was margarine or vegetable oil spread, but it definitely was not butter. It was bland. No taste. The lobster roll in itself was bland and no taste. The lobster meat was tough. So market price for the lobster was $25. My bill was 31.98 and that included the one fountain Coke. Was it worth $31.98 no, it was not. The bartender who waited on me did not one time ask me how my meal was. He waited until I was completely done with my food before asking me if I wanted refill on my drink. The very kind server who gave me my silverware waited on me more than the bartender did. I'm not one who likes to complain but I feel like I've been robbed now I paid my bill and I gave the server that gave me silverware and a napkin a bigger tip then I gave the bartender who waited on me if you call it waiting on me. I do not believe I will ever come back if I do ever come back I will definitely not be getting the lobster roll again. read more

The Drinks are good and food is decent. The service was disappointing. Seemed we picked the wrong day or wrong time to go. Long story short and to avoid blaming just the waitress (manager equally responsible for the mess). We were constantly "forgotten". From "only one waitress" to "got unexpected busy" we were told we were given a variety of reasons why it took 15 min for our drinks, another 15 to take our appetizer orders and didn't get our entree until way past an hour in their establishment. Hostess sat us and was ok, but we waited 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us or bring us water. Sadly, they never came. Nice place, good service and nice beer selection. It ends there. I got the bacon Foundry burger. 2 super thin patties. I'm guessing they were put on the griddle, the cook went for a smoke, comes back and turns them, then goes to get his oil changed , comes back and adds bacon and cheese and puts them on the bun. If you're looking for fast service and a great outdoor patio, look no further. With both covered and regular seating, as well as some comfy couches, there are plenty of options to enjoy the weather. The menu has a little bit of everything from fajitas and pasta to steaks and burgers; you can get a wide variety in one spot. The flavors were a little lacking (maybe due to the vastly varied menu options), but the fries were crispy and super salty -- always a win in my book! I have always had a positive experience here and so glad that I have. The bartender here is a really great really knowledgeable and can make a really good old fashion. They have very good wine selections and the wine glasses are really cool too. They serve beer on draft and recently I think they added nitrogen coffee. We usually come later in the day and that is when they have half off appetizers which is bomb for the price and the quality. Wings are great! Nachos are great! Salads are great! read more

Hello This place is a trendy bar and grill. It is in a very new development and with this year it makes things difficult. I like the place and the service was good. But my Alfredo sauce on my pasta was dry. I feel the pulled some already boiled noodles from a warmer, added some Alfredo sauce that may have been made in the kitchen. And the chicken breasts were a pounded down something from Costco. The flavors were good. Just hoping for fresher! I will be back just because its Covid year. Hope they step up the food. I went to this restaurant when it first opened almost a year ago and it's such a great addition to the community! I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and was very impressed with the juiciness and flavor of the chicken. The cheesy potatos on the side are dangerous because they are SO GOOD. I also tried the lavender lemonade and was skeptical at first but it was delicious and a very unique drink option. We sat out on the patio because it was a nice evening and had a wonderful server who was very attentive and gave us great recommendations.
