Robin and her hard working crew did a great job organizing, marketing, and liquidating my great-uncle's estate. I was particularly impressed by the speed with which Robin sent us our paperwork and check. One of Robin's workers even took the time to find and subsequently send us a box of my great-uncle's correspondence from World War Two. (Now THAT'S what I call customer service!) Prices were somewhat high which I can handle. However, when I asked to place a bid on a higher priced item, the woman running the sale proceeded to berate me. I won't be doing business with this company again. If you are hiring an estate sale company, there are many capable companies in Portland who treat both clients and customers well... this is not one of them. read more

Prices are way way too high. They are not trying to liquidate the assets of their client. I don't see how they can sell everything at the prices they price ,say come back on Sunday. Everything will be half price even at half price it's still way overpriced. The more you sell the more you liquidate for your client. I would never ever recommend this company which is really really sad really need to rethink their pricing a lot of companies out there have figured that out liquidate as much as you can at a reasonable price or start asking more for your percentage. read more

This is a wonderful estate company. They are very thorough. They have assisted multiple clients of mine. They are educated regarding appraising items and valuables from guns to jewelry. They work collectively with other vendors to facilitate clean outs of residual items at end of sales. Liquidating estates can be an overwhelming experience for loved ones. if you enjoy buying expensive furniture items that have been in a home doused in room deodorizer, only to bring it home and find it's actually filled with 50 years of cigarette smoke they were masking, than this company is definitely the one for you! once you get it out of the over febreezed air of the house and recognize the headache inducing smell of smoke, you can message the company owner, and she'll be sure to gaslight you and say that there was absolutely NO smoke smell in the whole house and they would know, they were there for a week. but maybe the realtor was spraying something? they just don't know. now I have over $1,000 in furniture to try to get the smell of cigarettes out of since it was masked in the house at the sale. also pretty obvious burn marks on the underside of the cushions. this company is not transparent or honest and they don't take accountability either. adding them to my list of estate sale companies I wont support. read more

The ad seemed to show some interesting items, so I went to the sale. I was shocked to see the delusionally high pricing, and left with nothing. I didn't see any of the other shoppers buy anything, but I did see many people leaving with nothing. All the things in the ad still seemed to be there, and I arrived at the sale late at around noon on the second day. Sales were apparently poor. No wonder. I can't speak as a client, but as an estate sale shopper I can tell you that I avoid their sales when I see their name attached. The prices are insanely high. Arguably more than original price. I've heard the person in charge lose patience with customers and complain about them after. Just not a professional or friendly vibe. read more

They did my Father's Estate and did not provide documentation of Item they threw out or Items Donated. They sold my personal stuff, baby albums, Grade school, Middle school & High school albums. The Big ticket items such as Antique Furniture, Original Paintings and misc. Antiques are not accounted for at all and when we try to contact them they do not respond. Not a reputable company at all. I dropped by one of their sales at 1:30 pm on the last day. Everything was half price, yet the house was so full that it could have passed as the first day of the sale. In other words, the prices were way too high, even when halved. Yes, the estate company should get as much for the family's goods as possible, but the end goal is an empty house. If you're pricing things so high that the house is still full on Sunday afternoon, then you are not doing your job correctly. I mentioned this to the lady at the cash register (old with dyed dark brown hair and harsh makeup) and she just rolled her eyes at me. I told her that I'm putting "overpriced" next to Foundstuff on my Portland estate sale spreadsheet, and that's exactly what I did. read more

I called to ask about the price of a few things I saw online and the woman, Robin, screamed at me for not talking fast enough and was ranting on about how much time she didn't have to talk to me. I've never experienced such terrible customer service, I kid you not something is not mentally sound with this person she was legitimately screaming at me over the phone for asking her a question. We hired Found Stuff to sell a house full of materials at our Queen Anne home. To anyone wishing to hire Found Stuff as your estate agents, I would recommend you find someone else. This firm and the birds of a feather associated with them turned out to be unreliable, unethical and unscrupulous. Dealing with this firm was one of the worst experiences of my life. The owner overpriced so many items that little of the furniture sold. We had specifically told her not to sell a heirloom mirror that hung over the fireplace but she went ahead and sold it anyway for only $125.00 (taking 40% commission as well). She denied that I had said not to sell the mirror and called me a liar for saying she had agreed not to sell it. She refused to compensate us for its true value which would have been closer to $1,000.00 She even accused the real estate agent who recommended Found Stuff as authorizing the mirror sale. The real estate agent offered to "make things right" but reneged on her offer to reimburse me for the mirror. Found Stuff's clean-out person who was supposed to pick up unsold items for free agreed to come to pick up items but left us waiting for over five hours and then said he wasn't coming after all because it wouldn't be worth his while. Birds of a feather, this gang of carrion eaters who prey upon the treasures of the elderly. Found Stuff prides itself on "observing the highest standards of professional ethics." I'm a re-seller and attend estate-sales/warehouse clear-outs/ garage sales weekly. I've attended sales that were good, bad & ugly. This review is for the same Vancouver estate sale another yelp reviewer 1-stared. This was my first time attending one of Foundstuff's sales. There was a huge warning on Foundstuff's ads that this estate sale was mass tonnage and there weren't going to be price tags on items/there would be lines/folks would need to have patience (there was barely enough room to walk through the house there was so much stuff here). I can't imagine how many months it would have taken to price every single item in this entire sale.... After waiting in line and entering the sale I immediately found a few items I was interested in that I took outside to be priced (I wanted a feeling for their pricing). Their prices were fair and left enough room for me to make a profit & spend the rest of my day picking there. I can highly recommend Foundstuff with confidence as a re-seller, collector or as a client (they will move your items at fair prices) Thanks for the good sale Robin & Crew! I attend many estate sales over the course of a year and consider myself competent to evaluate them objectively. At a sale today (3/15/19) in Vancouver, it was a train wreck. Clearly, the quantity of material was overwhelming and they were given limited time to price and organize the sale. As a result only a fraction of the goods, perhaps 2-5%, was priced. Buyers were required to collect their desired purchases and then wait in line while a single person with authority priced the items. Some lower end pieces were priced by a second person but many things had to be examined by the one person collecting money which caused extensive delays in checking out. After waiting in excess of half an hour simply to get prices, many items were rejected as being too expensive. A huge waste of time waiting only to find out that things were to pricey to purchase. I saw many frustrated buyers leave empty handed. I wanted to buy a $2.00 item and couldn't even pay for it without waiting in line 30 plus minutes to reach the person who could take my money. Ridiculous! A very poorly executed sale...I will probably not return to this company's events in the future. read more
