Solid 9 hole course and a good value at $25. Nothing is particularly exceptional or challenging but it's a nice course to play. Walking is a good way to go but plenty of carts are available, just no GPS. The only issues I had were a grouchy starter trying to hustle my group along even though we end up stuck waiting towards the end and the clubhouse telling me the wrong pin position. Ball washers are available on every hole and there are porta-potties every 2-3 holes. Unfortunately they weren't running beverage cart service and there's no water refill on course. I enjoyed playing here and lost a few balls but found some others. It's wide open and straight forward but not too cramped where you get balls from other holes flying at you. The guy who comes around on the course on a cart has been nothing but an a**hole to me. I payed for 3 people to play, including myself. As soon as I got down to the first tee box, he told me I couldn't play because I didnt have my own bag of clubs. I've never heard of this rule, and in my previous experience at this course that has never applied. I proceeded to ask for a refund if Im not able to play which he then said no. Then as I'm walking the course, not playing, he comes past me and starts yelling at me to leave the course. Because I'm CARRYING my brothers bag. Not playing, just carrying it. Not the mention we're walking the course with no roller bag in 90° weather, so a 14 year old is bound to get tired. I then stated my argument about how i payed to play, he scoffed at me and drove away. This is the worst experience Ive had at a golf course, and this guy has been nothing but rude. read more

The course itself is fine. Average design and maintained fine. I recently called to ask if my father who has played there regularly in a Thursday night league for the last 15 years, could ride along with his grandsons and son on a Sunday. He is a retired police officer currently suffering from stage four cancer. Didn't ask for an extra cart. He'll hit zero shots. Offered to walk myself. Was told by management no. Rules are rules no one rides along on a Sunday. I'll never set foot in that place again. Woukdve left zero stars if i could. read more

Soooo i used this place to host my sisters baby shower. We booked gave a deposit and everything seemed smooth until the day of. 1hr before guests came and everything was set up I noticed every piece of silverware, cup and plate at all of my tables were dirty. When I asked the manger about it she told me that it was residue from their dish washer. That manger argued with mr about the dishes not being dirty even though I could see with my own eyes that they were dirty. Then the manager proceeded to tell me that they couldn't get new dishes because they spent money on a new floor. ( there was literally lipstick still on the cups and grease and food residue on the silverware and plates) After arguing with the manager she went back and took all of the dishes off the table and had them rewashed..... The food was okay, it wasn't properly heated. I only gave them 2 stars because the dishes were came out clean a second time. If you want it done correctly the first time do not come here! read more

07-02-20 I am new to playing and had my first solo experience ruined by a staff member. I didn't even get to finish the first hole. I got paired up with three other people I don't know, and personally had I been told that I would have paid more to have the whole time to myself. I didn't argue though I let them play ahead of me just a little. The woman running the start of the course gives me so much attitude about keeping up with the group I got thrown in with that I just walked back. I Refused to ride back with her, didn't even want the refund that they were offering to give me. They can give her the money for classes on how to speak to people politely. So if you decide to go here anyway and see a brunette with a look like she just ate a lemon at the beginning of the course, throw her some attitude for me as I will not be returning. read more

Very slow pace of play... took over 2.5hrs to get 9 holes done. The 3 golfers infront were chatting on every green and looking at fish in the ponds for prolonged periods... I recently had a birthday party at the Fountain Hills golf course, Clubhouse, and I was asssured that everything was gonna be fantastic. I paid for 90 guests for a sit down dinner + 18% gratuity. They got my order wrong and the food was not good at all! When I reached out to Danielle about my disappointment, she tried to act like it was my fault that she/ they got my order wrong! A little disappointed in the condition of the course. I know they have had a lot of rain but some of the traps were just pure mud and sand was sliding down the sides of the traps. Greens were lumpy and tee boxes were chewed up. The staff was very friendly but, I played this course a few years ago and it was in much better shape. read more

Well this is review 100. Holler at your boy. This review will be both for the golf course and the clubhouse/reception area. I had a golf outing followed by a wedding reception the next evening. My overall experience was wonderful. The course was maintained well. A few unique holes and greens. I found this course to be pretty easy. I think most beginner and novice golfers would agree (other than a few narrow fairways). There is road next to a few of the first holes, so try to keep it straight or you might be buying someone a new windsheild. The crowd on the course was a bit older than what I like to play behind. The play was really slow. The reception was very well prepared for and looked beautiful. Its not a very large room, but enough room for maybe 100 people. Service was also pretty decent. The food? Eh. I could take it or leave it. Your standard chicken veggies and mashed potatoes. It was ok, nothing terrible, but nothing special. The salad? A bit of wet iceburg on a plate with some shreaded carrot and a small slice of tomato. Wasnt here for the food, so I wasn't bothered much. If I was in the area I wouldn't think twice about catching a quick nine and having a few beers at the 19th. read more

In October 2022, I reserved a room for a Birthday party for my mother. We (my sisters) were very disappointing with the service we received and more concerned with how the Food and beverage manager and the Manager of Fountain Hills golf Club handled the situation. We rented a room for 100 guest, we had only 82 guest attend. There was not enough food to accommodate the 82 guest. After speaking with the Manager of Food and beverages(DC) regarding this issue, we received push back for requesting refills to serve our guest. We also rented the bar for 4 hours, I had to ask the Manager DC twice to ask the customers who were not part of our event to leave the bar area. Her response was they are members of the club and would not be there long. They remain at the bar for almost an hour. I did voice these concerns to the Fountain Hills Manager a couple of days later. He was equally rude and incredibly unprofessional. We were told we would receive our deposit one month after the event. WE received the deposit after 7 weeks. No apology from either the food and beverage manager or the manager of Fountain Hills Golf Club. This was suppose to be happy celebration for my mother. Fountain Hills Golf Club ruined that experience. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. read more

Not enough affordable places in which to choose & while he's a serious golfer, prefers 18 holes, this is a nice added bonus after work (where he can't fit in 18 holes but likes to hit all the same). Last Friday I called and made a 3:16 tee time. I arrived and was at the counter to pay and check in at 3:13. I then was berated by a grumpy manager for not being five minutes early, which he said is club policy though they never tell anyone that. He asked how the heck I thought I could get from the counter to the tee, tee up and hit in three minutes. I noted that it was of course impossible to do that when one was being yelled at in the clubhouse rather than being rung up and moved along. Guy then called me a smart *ss and we ended up leaving and playing the course next door. Someone needs to remind these guys that this is not Augusta National. And they need a course in hospitality. Despite the rudeness, they get two stars since I do like the course for the money. read more

I attended a reception at site over the weekend. The food was very fresh and tasty. It didn't have that "banquet hall" taste. The chicken was tender and marinated. The veggies were steamed just right and the mashed potatoes were maybe some of the best I've ever had. The staff were accommodating and polite. This venue is beautiful and clean. This is my second review. My original must have been removed. I will admit that I am a "customer" in the habit of providing "reviews" when I have a negative experience and not a positive one. It is perhaps unfair of me, but I usually expect a 3 of 5 star experience to begin with. BACKGROUND -- I used to visit this golf course twice a week several years ago. Worked at Markham courthouse, and the owner of the restaurant/bar is related to a state's attorney at Markham. However, I think the bar/restaurant was sold by them. Something went terribly wrong at this course, and I since generally only recommend Stoney Creek for a good course in the neighborhood. I have yet to have a single problem in any way with Stoney Creek and even took a lesson there with a great instructor (my driving has improved immensely). BRIEFLY -- The course became awfully crowded, and the rangers became surly and down-right mean to golfers. One experience I had is when a ranger was making fun a person's weight - telling him to walk to lose weight. Turns around to our group with a grin as if we would laugh with him. We were appalled. And to this day I regret not reporting this incident to management. One another occasion, I have saw and heard a rangers directly pull up to golfers and DEMAND!---I could hear the ranger with my own ears---that they play "best ball." Perhaps this seems reasonable. It is management that allowed the course to become so crowded, and now they demand how people enjoy their game? Frankly, they have allowed the course to become so crowded at times that I think it was dangerous - FORE! FORE! FOOOOORE! In theory, I think they just allowed too many people on, the rangers could not handle all of the people, and it creates a bad experience for everyone involved. CONCLUSION -- I used to know some rangers by name. The clubhouse is nice, but the bar and restaurant are separate owners from the course. Have not been back for a year. Miss the course, but I will not return after numerous bad experiences. read more

It was not a good experience. We went on a very hot day and were not allowed any water or beverages. The "starter" wanted to "confiscate" our small bag of water/gatorade. We were told the course didn't want bottles and cans all over, therefore nothing was allowed. I fully expected water to be provided at most of the holes and/or a beverage cart. We found neither. By the 3rd hole I was dehydrated. One very kind ranger brought us some water (she was the only employee that actually cared about the patrons). We were told later by the VERY defensive manager that we could have bought water from there bar....too little, too late. I'm sure they do such a great business they don't have to "care" about the golfers. Needless to say we won't be back . read more
