Sorry to write this review. I have been taking my dog there for 4 years. She gets bathed, nails cut, anal glands checked and ears cleaned. The issue is the always miss nails to be cut and once her ears were not cleaned and i doubt they even check her anal glands. Today I paid $60 ( use to be $44) and I got home not one nail was cut. It's a shame that a business can degrees in quality services. I will be finding a new dog groomer. read more

My black lab had been going to Four Paws Only for over a year for daycare and boarding and she enjoyed it, but my experience with them over the last two weeks has been awful. She was banned from daycare out of the blue because she had one bad day. No one could tell us why she wasn't allowed to keep coming back, and still haven't heard about being refunded for the 22 days she had left on her daycare package. While some of the employees are nice, the lack of communication is frustrating and things are different now with a change of staff. I would not recommend anyone leaving their dogs with these people for daycare or boarding anymore. read more

I can attest for their boarding, day camp, and grooming and I would give all of them 5 stars easy! When I first brought my dog for day camp they knew her name by pickup and the whole staff is so excited to see her. My dog loves being there! Most importantly she is getting the exercise she needs. I use the fi collar and on a daily basis she is getting upwards of 40,000 steps while playing. She comes home tired and ready to play the next day. Their grooming is so catered to the needs of the pet. She got groomed and went to day camp in the same day and it is the best grooming job I she has gotten hands down. I use them for everything I need and I wouldn't want it any other way. My dog loves being there and I feel safe with her there! Love love love it! The bad reviews you see are people who are most likely not informing the staff of previous situations or who don't know what their dog needs. Took my dog to get groomed before thanksgiving when we came home he sat in bed all day next day he could not walk took him.to vet the following day. They said he could of been kept in a kennel.too.small.or he fell.or mishandled . He has not been able to get around since. He is a senior dog but was not this bad... today we put him down which was a very hard decision to make. I would.not recommend taking you dog here if u love your dog... find another place where he is treated properly. read more

I would give minus 0 if I could. My friend's dog boarded there recently. She came out of that place weighing less and looking haggard. Feces all over her butt and hind legs. My friend had to pick her up to get her in the vehicle. She was too weak to get in on her own. I am unable to get more specific at this time. Boarded my cats here & gave them specific instructions about their food schedule to the girl at the counter that looked about 15 years old. She didn't seem to care when I was explaining it to her staring at her phone and computer the whole time. We picked up our 2 cats and they gave us back 75% of the food I had given them for 5 days. So apparently they were not being fed at all. When we brought them home we fed them & they ate so fast like they were starving which is very unusual for them. Also my cat returned with an eye infection & a cold. We were told they will not be socializing with other cats. read more

We returned to pick up our dogs and my beau was so off, I didn't think much of it as I know it had been a long 5 days, well I got to looking at him and he has snot so caked in his ears that his hair was falling out. He had snot just leaking out of his nose, he could barely get up from lack of energy I finally got ahold of them to talk about it, and they said they never noticed my dog was sick. I later talked to a kennel technician and she said "well we may have noticed he coughed a few times but thought It was maybe allergies" well if they noticed a cough don't you think they would have taken it a little more serous considering there is a serious outbreak of kennel cough. Anyways, I take him to the vet and they told me he has pneumonia . They took X-rays and blood work just to verify. Also my dog was not the only dog within the same time frame with the same sickness. I called up the boarding facility and told them I should receive help with these vet bills since my dog had obvious been sick for several days. At first I felt as if I was getting somewhere until the manager told me she called the vets office and they told her my dog never had pneumonia. I called the vet and confronted them about what the manager had told me and she told me that it was illegal to give any information about my animal, and that they would never give out my information without my consent. So I called four paws only again and they still were calling me a liar, I had to take it as far as going through the legal team and getting legal statements to prove my dog had pneumonia, even though I dropped off all of his paperwork that stated he had it and they still won't help even though it's obvious it come from their facility as like I stated my dog was not the only dog with the sickness! I feel terribly knowing my dog was laying in there sick and laying in his own bodily fluids and nobody did anything about it . When I take him to the groomers everyone tells me I'm not the first horror story they have heard from this place. SO SAD. read more

The people at Four Paws on Edgewood Dr Lakeland FL are extremely rude. If possible I would give them a 0 rating. We took 3 of our Shepherds in for nail trims March 2021, 2 of our Shepherds are over 100 lbs. We were charged $10 each which is acceptable. On May 26th 2021 we took one of the Shepherds in for a nail trim, 80 lbs which is well behaved and no problem. We were told $20 and told take it or leave. Not sure how to give this place 0 stars but I would if I could. We recently moved here and looked on Google for a boarding place for our 3 pups. Walked in and turned right back out. Wouldn't even let them take our dogs back! Dirty, hair everywhere, employees smoking god knows what outside the front door, no paperwork to sign, they just asked for our dogs and didn't even ask about medications, feeding, etc. if you care about your dogs, do not bring them here. read more

This place is great! My dog, Bandit goes at least 3 times a week. We got him during the beginning of COVID so he has some separation anxiety when we all went back to work. This place has been a GODSEND! All we have to tell him is "time for school" & he goes right to the car. He loves playing with his friends and gets all of his energy out! We took our dog here twice. The first time she returned home with terrible diarrhea that lasted for days and required a trip to the vet to get under control. We thought perhaps since this was her first time there we would give it a second chance. Big mistake. Big, big mistake. This time our dog came home covered in urine and feces. I thought she had an accident in the house, but turns out it was just the stench coming off her fur. At 95 pounds and fluffy, she's not easy for me to bathe, but bathe her I did. I called to talk with the manager and was told they had 93 dogs being boarded this weekend. That's way too many imo. Looks like all they care about is $. We cancelled our trip to stay home instead of subjecting our dog to another weekend at this place. I am absolutely beyond livid with what went down today. My mom dropped off my dog this morning at four paws. He's been going there for a almost a year now on and off. He's had no issues with the other dogs, he loves to go there and play with his friends and get his energy out. When my mom went to pick up my dog and bring him home I notice a gash on his back leg and blood running down his leg everywhere! When I called to asked what happened all I got was " the workers didn't see him bleeding or any wounds" and I was informed how " he wasn't good this morning and got into a bark off with another dog, but there wasn't any aggression" which first off. Why would I not get a call if anything like that happened?? The first thing that should happen is I should be getting a call notifying me of any type of fight whether its physical or not?! I know damn well there are more than enough employees around the dogs to where someone should be able to see if my dog is hurt and or bleeding. Im pretty sure they were just covering their tracks to save their ass. Secondly I didn't even get an apology whatsoever. It was just a blame game on my dog saying he was bad even though he doesn't have an aggression issue. I don't know if someone else's dog came onto mine or what the case was because I have absolutely no information on what happened. But I will NEVER bring my dog back here again. Not to mention I have given four paws more than enough chances. As for my dog has come home limping one time and also coughing another! I worked at a dog boarding facility for 5 years. They took my dogs to the back and never had me fill out their paperwork ( telling them about my dogs and signing their contract) they just asked when do they eat, and if they had any medications. I shrugged it off cause maybe they were busy and just wanted me to drop off and go (which is what I did) but no one should feel the sense of being rushed when leaving their babies. Especially their first time. You only see pictures 1x a day on their fb and that's if u pay extra for daycare (I believe). When I picked up I asked how they were and all I got was "idk I wasn't here yesterday" :( My puppy had dog piss on his white coat and my other dog had a Diarrhea stain down his butt. At my old boarding place (in Texas) we would never let a baby leave with piss or feces on them. So now they have to come home to a bath instead of cuddles. Just wish I had more communication or they posted more to help parents see their dogs are okay. As well as paying attention to how the babies leave the facility. The people that work here are friendly and my pups came back looking spiffy and smelled great from the shower they were given. The prices here are very good too compared to Petco and PetSmart. The absolute worst pet grooming salon I have ever been too. Extremely unprofessional and rude! I wish I could leave them 0 stars! The woman at the front desk never greeted me or bothered to ask me my dogs name. I tried to tell her that she's a senior dog and is very fragile, but she never acknowledged what I said to her she just kept saying 'its no problem no problem'. I dropped off my dog at 9:00 AM and called twice to check in on her because they kept her there for !!!6 HOURS!!! I had to pick up my dog because they NEVER CALLED for me to pick her up!!When I got there she wasn't even done!! She had chunks of hair missing and a horrible uneven shave. Her nails weren't cut and she wasn't even bathed!! I had left her there at 9:00 in the morning and they did nothing!! And she was limping for 4 days after the appointment meaning THEY HURT HER!! I will never go back and I recommend no one ever brings there dog there! They will hurt your dog and not even care. They won't even do the service that was asked of them!! For several years we took our little miniature yorkie, Minnie, in to be groomed. She always was happy to go with the groomer and looked so proud of herself when she came out looking beautiful. \Since her passing ( she was very old ) we have brought our shelter yorkie ( who has helped to fill the hole in our hearts left by Minnie. We don't know Lola's history as she was middle aged when we got her, and she tends to be very timid. She seems, however, to be very relaxed when we take her to Four Paws and hand her over to the groomer. The staff is friendly and I always enjoy the two or three large peaceful dogs that greet us when we walk in.. She seems just as relaxed and happy when we return for her three hours later. I've never seen any scrapes or nicks and she always looks so cute after she is groomed. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST - We have brought our dog Cisco to four paws a few times, this time being the 4th and FINAL. When we dropped our pet off on Monday, we left STRICT instructions on how he needed to be fed. We pre-measured out food and provided one day of EXTRA just in case. We also pre-counted his medicine he takes which is fish oil. We informed Four paws that he WOULD NOT eat his food with out squeezing three tablets on to the food. Again we pre counted the tabs totaling 27 capsules. On Thursday we called to EXTEND our over night say and day care one more day to pick up on Saturday. When we spoke with the employee they said our dog was doing great. NO MENTION OF TROUBLE! Mind you our dog does not have socialization issues or depression or when hes in a strange place he eats just fine. Our dog is basically a hoover! We have been putting him in kennels since he was born for when we travel in NO way is this new to him. Today is Satuday, we picked up our pet to find out that 19 of the 27 Pills still remain and HALF of the dog food is STILL IN THE BAG! We called and spoke with the manager, a very nice gentlemen who offered a sincere apology when I explained my concerns. He went and spoke with the pet tech "in house vet or health care person". While I was on hold, the OWNER picks up the line and from the very start was exceptionally unfriendly, offered NO apology. I explained to her that its frustrating that we left exact instructions and that my primary concern was that he didn't eat and that I had called and extended our stay and that every thing was fine and dandy and there was NO MENTION of them discontinuing his capsules. Four Paws Claims that they stopped putting the fish oil on the food because he wouldn't eat it. I might be crazy but if I ran this business and some ones pet wasn't eating. I believe I would have contacted the owner to see if there was anything they where doing wrong or missing. The owner pretty much told me to shove off and that they would not be refunding my money or any portion there of. She is exceptionally RUDE and unconcerned with your pets well being or the owners peace of mind. Facts of this issue: 1. They Didn't Follow instruction given and put my dog at risk. 2. If a problem arises they don't contact the owner. 3. The Owner has ZERO concern for her customers. 4. Not even a apology was issued 5. Was told "they did it in the best interest of the dog" Had the owner given us a portion of refund, we would have considered using them for just day care. But now after the way this was handled I will be a fully lost customer. We will make sure to tell our friends and family of our misfortune and warn those who started using them after we recommended them. At the end of the day, when you are a business owner its ultimately its about customer retention and satisfaction. Clearly the owner treats the customers just like she treats YOUR PET... I dropped in for a tour while searching for a doggy daycare / boarding facility in Lakeland. I had a bad feeling the first time I visited - but I gave"Four Paws Only" the benefit of the doubt and asked my husband to accompany me for another tour of their facility. After 2 visits, my husband and I agreed there was NO way in hell we'd leave our dogs there. We met unprofessional staff members and witnessed aggression among the dogs. The facilities were disappointing and the owner was full of excuses. Sometimes the smallest details can tell you a lot about a business... don't ignore them! Keep looking! Your pets deserve to be treated with great care and love. TIP: We ultimately chose to take our dogs to Das Hund Haus, another facility in Lakeland that offers the same services and more - such as training classes. We've been thrilled with our choice and have never once had any concerns there. read more

AWFUL and HORIBBLE place to send your dog to be taken care of for the day. I am mostly a carefree person and do not mind when little mistakes happen here and there with businesses, but THIS PLACE NEEDS TO GO. If you get a chance to look at the back where all the dogs "play", it's a total poop farm and they even have to put a bunch of cinder blocks under the fence because of the scraggly fence. This was my second time having my dogs groomed there. I have to say they did such a fabulous job! My dogs seem so happy going in and the staff was very friendly and the dogs looked AMAZING! And one of my dogs is non stop moving around and he came out perfect! He is a standard poodle. I rescued him so he had a rough life before I adopted him.my Sandy is a shih tzu looked so pretty! Ive been to this facility twice. My first experience started off with two unleash dogs roaming free with an employee. Once the two dogs came around the corner, they charged both my dog and I. I was understanding and i left my dog in their care. When i picked him up he still looked and smelled a little dirty. He still had hair falling off him. I asked about the hair and the employees stated that," i have to come regularly for them to be able to get all of his coat." I again kept my mouth shut. That night when him and i were laying down i was petting him and noticing an obstruction in his hair. I looked at it in the light and it was his skin ripped from where they brushed him so hard. They basically scalped him. Given all of this i decided to give them another chance. This was the worst experience of all time. When we picked Ghost up they had him in solitude (away from all dogs and employees) stating that," he didnt do well with the other dog that he is better alone." But this time i allowed them to trim his hair. I knew something was off when the lady only gave me one option that morning with the hair cuts, shaved. I had to express multiple times to Only trim and it was like she couldnt comprehend it. When i saw his hair it immediately made me mad. It looked terrible, it wasnts even and they burned him around his private area by cutting it too short. No one at this facility should be charging to cut hair unless they have gone to school or have been professionally trained. But the worst of it was immediately after getting him home he pooped blood everywhere. The first time and the only time in his life has that happened. You could physically see scabs on his butt hole from what ever yall did to it. Once again just because you can put soap on a dog and wash it off with water doesnt make you a groomer. I feel like every groomer at this facility are underqualified and are not properly trained. The owner needs to take pride in their business and hire people that know what they are doing or train the people that dont. We as customers intrust our animals lives with you the least you could do is take pride in what you do. My dog will never go back there and i will tell everyone i know of my experience. read more

I had dropped my dog off for boarding for a week and while picking her up, she was coughing and hacking and their excuse was "we haven't heard that from her before." Within the next day she continued to get worse. So we had brought her to the vet and from four paws she had gotten kennel cough and the latest dog flu. Our dog is a full bred and has never had any sickness within the 8 years that we've had her. After bringing up what had happened to our dog to them, they showed no sign of remorse and also blamed it on us. If they can't spot my dog constantly hacking, I don't think they can uphold the responsiblity of handling any animal. My dogs contracted kennel cough and an upper respiratory infection while at 4 Paws for a week. One dog had a fever of 104.2. They wouldn't eat. They were coughing, sneezing and gagging. They had bloodshot eyes and runny noses. Imagine a human with an awful case of bronchitis or the flu. We were afraid that we would lose them. I'm still watching them because they still have symptoms after 2 weeks. I called 4 Paws to find out if there were any sick dogs because I thought one of my dogs was getting sick. I was then told there were a few dogs with a cough. We should have been notified while our dogs were there and definitely during pick up. Sandy asked if I thought the dogs received bad vaccinations. In my opinion, her tone suggested "This isn't my problem."The dogs were up to date on their vaccinations, including kennel cough. There was no follow-up call from 4 Paws to check on them. There was no apology. There was no notification that I should watch out for symptoms. I spent over $600 to save my dogs. Thankfully they are on the mend. I hope that company changes their policies. Notify pet owners as soon as you know there is contagious pet. That area should be shut down for business so that they can thoroughly clean. When I took my dogs to the vet. They shut the room down for the day and were cleaning the lobby before I was back in my car. I couldn't even put the dogs on the floor. I would suggest they confirm EVERY pet is up to date on the kennel cough and flu vaccinations, including dogs they are used to seeing on a regular/daily basis. In hind sight after looking at grooming area I should have taken her right back out. The place is dark and not very clean. My dogs shot was not new so it's partially my fault. I've been here twice. It wasn't awful, but twice is enough. I won't be returning. Both times I went in, without even saying hello, a not-so-friendly teenager grabbed my dog and brought her in a back room. It was very abrupt, and it wasn't a very welcoming vibe. They did an okay job with the grooming, but not great. Both times, the fur was cut a bit shorter than I asked for, and the nails were still a little too long. I wish that there was a "no star" option because of how horrible this place is. My puppy needed his nails trimmed but I didn't want to drive all the way to the other side of town. I found this place on yelp and thought it looked decent. I arrived and 3 or 4 unprofessional teenagers stood behind the counter. They didn't ask me any information but simply snatched my baby out of my hands and into a locked room. I tried to tell them to be careful not to cut too close to his quick, and they responded rudely.."yeah, we know how to do this. We're groomers." Even though they didn't look like groomers, they looked like juniors in high school. So they proceeded to take my dog into this filthy room and shut the door behind them. Why? I don't know. whenever I had taken him to petco I was always able to watch him have it done. I heard him crying hysterically and yelping, so I opened the door and saw them manhandling my dog and pinning him to the table.
