Me and a few friends were looking into spas near Malibu and Ayurveda came up. I did a bit of research and discovered Hillary at Four Pillars. I received the four day deep rest program. We all work in demanding industries and found a multiple day program addressing deep rest combined with any wellness would be better than a single day at the spa. What I know for sure this was one of the best decisions of 2022. It comes at a cost but once you meet Hillary you will understand. She cares deeply about balance & well-being. Somethings I find are worth it she's truly found her gift and her practice allows it to be shared with others. It is a beautiful thing! The sessions do require you to be present and patient. Hillary is ultra patient. The program was over multiple days so I got a room and planned my day around the treatments. It was wonderful, at about day two I knew what to expect and was finally able to get out of my head to totally relax. There was a group of three of us, Hillary was so hospitable! Coordinating around our schedules, sending lists of things to bring, sharing the scenic route to her studio, recommendations for plant based restaurants in the area and hiking trails. She referred us to Surreina who led a lovely sound bath in Hillarys studio. We shared amazing meals that Hillary prepared (she's a great cook). Warm tea was a requirement as she graciously handed me a cup upon arrival. I'm not much of a reviewer but I love Yelp and this is a gem. Each treatment is specific to your needs. Issues we had combined were severe dermatitis, back pain, menstrual cramping, appetite issues, constant stress and trauma. Each of us received what we needed as individuals. There is a discovery/consultation you begin with and at the end you get a report to help continue the practices for an Ayurvedic lifestyle. With her guidance I can see the benefits of going to be at a decent hour and eating meals that are easy on the stomach. At times discipline can be tough but with practice it's made a difference. I contacted Hillary because for many years I've had painful menstrual cycles. Heavy bleeding, clots, cramps, backaches, and very low energy. I was introduced to Hillary a couple of years ago by my first yoga teacher, Kim at Out Back Yoga in Chatsworth. It was also my first introduction to Ayurveda.
