First of all...I should have looked at the Yelp reviews PRIOR to booking and staying at this property! As a Bonvoy Titanium member with about 110 nights this year, one would think that I didn't need to do so...live and learn. I will start with the things I can identify as positives. There was plenty of parking. Very few people using this hotel. Everything "smelled" clean, and the bed was comfortable. Now my experience... Prior to arrival I received a notification that I had been upgraded, but then couldn't find it when I arrived at the hotel. When I finally did find it the next day, it was for a stay the following week. Anyway, I digress. When I walked in to the property, the person behind the desk was sitting on a low chair and mostly hidden from view - he never stood up out of his seat while he was talking to me. His laptop was sitting open on the desk, which was occupying most of his attention. He asked my name and I provided it. I said that I thought that I had received an upgrade notification, and he said yes...you have been upgraded to a double. Upgrade from a King room to a Double room? He said that it was a "deluxe queen". OH...my skeptical reply. After I finished checking in, I took the elevator to the 4th floor. My first impression was a bit of shock. Most every room on the floor had the garbage cans sitting in the hall. Not a very appealing visual - especially for what I am accustomed to with Marriott. I opened my door and it was a normal double room. I was a bit miffed to say the least, since I had reserved a King room. I had to go back to my car, so I stopped at the desk on the way out. I told the same person that for the record a double was NOT an upgrade from a King. His reply? I never told you that you were upgraded. Enter anger and a louder voice. This guy just straight up lied to my face. I told him that I wanted to be in the room that I booked. During the exchange, someone in a position of authority walked by and asked him if he was ok. I replied that he was OK, but I was not. I explained the issue and he again said "I never told you that I was upgrading you". I said, "well you did, but you actually downgraded me". The first words out of the other persons mouth...he is a Titanium. No surprise...they probably don't get many at this property. She ended up giving me an upgrade to a "suite". It's fair to say that it was an upgrade, but why didn't the first person give me the upgrade that I was entitled to if it was available in the first place? I went to the room and on the way found a broom and dust pan leaning against the wall in the hallway. The room was indeed a suite, but without a fridge, water damage on the wall, the conditioner was completely out. Now, after the experience checking in, everything is adding more and more frustration. I got the cold stare from this guy every time I entered the building...well, it wasn't for long because he was blocked by his laptop. I would stay far away from this property. I keep wondering what my status with Marriott is actually worth. It shouldn't matter whether someone has status or not, they should be treated as a customer, and welcomed to the property. I felt like my presence was an imposition. With all of the bad reviews, I am actually surprised that they maintain their affiliation with Marriott.

The place looks nice but the cleanliness of the rooms and linen is horrible. Had towels that were dirty. Housekeeping was very poor. The soap dish looked like it hadn't been clean in months. The towels I used and put on the floor were just folded and put back like they had been washed. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, I expected much better. Marriott should consider dropping this location from their brand.

This not my first time at this hotel, but it will most certainly be my last. Less than 15 minutes ago, I arrived back to my hotel room with my family. We have been away from the hotel since around 10:00 AM this morning visiting family and friends. When we came to our hotel door, we found that it was ajar! We didn't leave our door open. We know housekeeping came in here after we left because our beds were made and towels were replaced so housekeeping must not have checked to ensure the door was closed when they left. This is absolutely unacceptable to me! It's Christmas time so our room had gifts in it that have been opened on Christmas Day. By the grace of God, none of our items appear to be missing, but it's so unsettling that our room was open to all until we got here. My husband went and talked to the person at the front desk. They said they'd talk to the manager and they gave him some free breakfast passes. I guess I should be happy they were apologetic, but I'm very disappointed and displeased. In addition to the door being open, the hotel overall is kind of meh. Our room had water stains on the ceiling, the desk chair was peeling, the sheets were ripped/had holes, and it just was a kind of blah feel. I literally told my husband (before the open door incident) that I didn't want to come back here again because I just wasn't feeling how thrown together this hotel is for a Sheraton. It looks rundown on the inside. I'd rather pay more to feel more relaxed in the future when we visit this area. I do not recommend this hotel even if you're getting a discount on the price. Take my word and pass on this one.

Your review Four Points by Sheraton St. Louis - Fairview Heights Fairview Heights (Illinois) 2021-06-24 21:10:39 5.0 Front desk daytime receptionist Darlene Williams exceptional customer will forever keep me as a Sheraton Customer at her location. I love the front desk receptionist Darlene Williams ! Her customer service skills are on point. Darlene's boss needs to give Darlene a $2 or more raise. Darlene sets the tone w/a positive vibe to her guests at the Sheraton Hotel. After I experienced being stuck on the road waiting for a Tow Truck after working a 12 hour shift, I'm thinking I'm going to get home & and relax, & sleep in my own bed. But since my Jeep was towed at the Auto shop, which my Jeep was programmed to open the garage door to let me in the house through the garage door, and I didn't have a key to the door, I ended up getting a room at the Four Points Sheraton hotel in Fairview Heights, IL. I was able to rest, and decompress. Still feeling frustrated, I had to check out at 11am. Not knowing what time my friend would be dun with work, I asked Darlene Williams if it's ok, can I please wait in the lobby for a couple of hours till I get picked up to leave to my friends house, wait at her house till I can get back into my house. Darlene greeted me with an enthusiastic vibrant energy and said absolutely, she asked me if I wanted water, and told me I can watch tv in the lobby, handed me the remote control to the TV and told me to watch whatever I wanted to watch. Her compassion and empathy for me made me feel a whole lot better. She didn't treat me as a number. Other Hotel employees across the world needs to take a few pages from her book when it comes to customer service. I also need to mention, as I was sitting in the lobby watching tv, I witnessed a hotel guest politely complains about his incorrect credit card charge.Darlene apologized for a wrong charge on his credit card. Darlene looked at the guest's charge carefully, & immediately apologized to the guest for the wrong charge on his credit card; she told the guest not to worry, she was going to make amends for the incorrect credit card charge and she apologized to him.The guest graciously thanked Darlene Williams. Disliked · Male Night receptionist not helpful. The towels were not clean in room 236. I asked night receptionist for toothbrush he said they ran out of toothbrushes. I asked if their was soap and shampoo and he said yes. But when I got ready to shower, their was no soap in the dispenser so I used shampoo to wash my body. Towels were either stained or had blue toothpaste on it. Room had an odor. I took pictures of the towels. Darlene Williams should get 10 Stars for her genuine compassion for guests , going above and beyond , vibrant energy. Darlene shows dedication for Sheraton Hotel, and dedication to her Hotel Guests. She is definitely an asset to Sheraton Hotel and hard to find dedicated hotel receptionist these days. I hope her boss gives her at least a $2 or more an hour for her raise. As far as the night receptionist and the dirty towel on bathroom sink with blue toothpaste and stained towels, and a room with odor, are the reasons I gave an overall 3 Stars. Really wanted to give this hotel 2 stars, but Darlene's exceptional customer service skills just wowed me I had to give this hotel 3 stars !!!

The acoustics make it kinda hard to hear what the person across from you is saying, and the wooden chairs are not comfortable at all. Our server was a very bubbly young lady named Emma, who did a great job taking care of us. I had two glasses of wine and we ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, a house salad each, and we both had the filet entree. I loved it all, but my husband thought there was too much sauce on the sprouts and wasn't crazy about the salad. He loved the entree though. We got the tiramisu for dessert, and took it home with us. The portions are big, so we had some sprouts and I had some steak leftover. I'm looking forward to having it for dinner again tonight!! We will definitely be back. Our room fit our preferences - away from the elevator, etc. The beds were well made, the kitchen area was clean, and the bathroom was sparkling. Walking on the carpet in bare feet didn't make my feet change colors. I've included photos of various parts of the room, including my feet (I'm shocked they aren't dirtier considering that I was walking around in rain/mud earlier). Stayed in an IHG property in Dallas for the last 4 days, and this is a welcome and refreshing change. We're honestly tempted to stay an extra night just because it's so comfortable. I literally have 0 things to complain about - and I'm exhausted from driving for the last 17 hours and feeling pretty crabby. Also, having just slept at a hotel where the mattress felt like plywood, the bed feels amazing. Supportive, but plush. I wish my last 4 days were at a similar hotel. Looking forward to taking advantage of breakfast in the a.m., and very appreciative of the fridge/microwave to store and eat our delicious BBQ leftovers.

General - I have never stayed at a Drury Inn before and I had heard good things about them so…read moredecided to give them a try on my last road trip with family. Location - This Drury was in a suburb (Fairview Heights) close to St. Louis. Lots of great restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away. There is also a decent sized mall just down the road. Rooms & Building - After staying at a couple Drury locations, you will notice that each one follows a similar pattern. Lots of seating in the lobby (which is great when getting food), nice size pool and hot tub areas, and sprawling complexes with additional seating nook found throughout. Our room was nice and comfy and easily fit our family of five. The building was in good condition and easy to find right off of the highway. Amenities - This hotel had a cool inside/outside pool that my kids loved to play in and nice (a little small but still relaxing) hot tub. Parking was free and utilized a large, private lot. There was also an office center and a small convenience store to purchase items from. One of the main selling points for me was their free evening dinner and free breakfast. Oh, and I can't forget about the free popcorn in the lobby. Food - While staying here, you are able to take advantage of a free breakfast and dinner buffet. The breakfast layout is your standard hot/cold/continental buffet. Hot options include eggs, breakfast potatoes, breakfast meat, sausage gravy, and waffles. Continental options are available too such as yogurt, cereal, breakfast breads, fruit, etc. I have to say that Drury had the best biscuits I have ever had for a hotel's breakfast buffet. I ate so much biscuits and gravy here, ha! The dinner buffet was great. At first, I thought it would just be a great way to save some $$, even if it wasn't the most enjoyable but the food was actually satisfying and filling. Food included hot dogs, soup, salad, pasta, meatballs and mashed potatoes, nachos, etc. Adults also get three free alcoholic drinks that include various cocktails, beer and wine. The kids can enjoy AYCD soda. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. All the staff worked extra hard to make sure all of the guests were having a great stay, super cool to see. The hotel is definitely geared towards family but includes some nice higher-end touches like comfy seating areas, relaxing pool areas, and a decent size gym. With that being said, there will be a lot of kids running around but it wasn't as loud and crazy as I thought it would be. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $100 a night. Great bang for your buck, especially when you included the free food and drinks that you can take advantage of. Drury's are a great place to pick if you want a casual all-inclusive experience while traveling, especially with kiddos.

Manager keeps light off in the area around the dining room (tables set up) without recognizing that people sit there for reasons other than waiting for breakfast and evening "kickback". Food choices for kick back don't take into account non meat eaters like all other Drury experiences I have had (It's not really free when the room rate (159.00) is much higher than others in the area). I would not recommend this particular Drury though I highly recommend the other Drury's!
