OK very friendly but this place needs an update. Room was ok but needs a bit of work. Great location.

Gloria was amazing at the front desk. However the room smelled and shower was dirty. The room forsure needs repairs.

My first time really spending time in Richmond for my nephew's graduation and I had a great stay at this Four Points. The ladies at the front desk were pleasant and explained everything well. The pool is indoor/outdoor and luckily the weather was great for some pool days. I had a great drink made by Nesha who was very pleasant to talk with. I just appreciate everyone's smile. It makes a difference when the staff looks like they enjoy their job. My favorite scenery was in the back. There's a small lake behind the pool that gives a relaxing vibe.

I booked a 3-night, non-refundable stay through the hotel's website. I'm writing this review at 2 a.m. from my hotel room. This is the second night I've been unable to sleep well thanks to the paper thin walls here. This hotel deserves no more than one star. In my booking request, I wrote, "A quiet room on a high floor away from the elevator, please." Instead, I was given a 4th-floor room (there are 7 total), three over from the elevator, and it faces the road, which is a busy thoroughfare. The other side of the hotel faces a tranquil lake. I understand special requests are not guaranteed, but I checked in on a Monday and the parking lot has never been close to full during my stay. My first night, the neighbors left their TV on all night and all morning, til after the noon check-out time. They were listening to the news. I know this because I was, therefore, also listening to the news by default. The channel never changed. I assume they were sleeping with the TV on, as some people do, but I cannot sleep with TV noise. That next morning, I called down to the front desk to see if they'd be checking out that day. They were, so I didn't change my room, but that day was a total wash for me because I was deliriously tired. I didn't do anything productive, other than a yoga class to de-stress from this hotel. Now, a new family is next door. I think it's a family of four, with two teenagers. I've yelled asking them to be quiet (when their noise woke me originally), and I've heard them wondering among themselves where the request came from, but it hasn't made them adjust their speech volume, so now I have some music on to tune them (and their TV) out. In addition to the paper thin walls, I don't trust the basic cleanliness of the room. I noticed a cracker underneath the TV section, and it's still there after a secondary clean. The vent in the bathroom is coated in thick dust. The floor near the entrance is sticky. Also, the shower has dripped for the duration of my stay. I've been keeping extra towels under it to lower the volume of the water hitting the drain. The AC also sounds stressed each time it kicks on. Oh, and the doors to the rooms slam each time someone doesn't manually shut them. In the process of writing this review, I called the front desk again and reiterated the frustration of my horrible room placement. The night auditor's response made me think it's a comment he hears often. I worked front desk in college and his blase tone gave away his feelings beyond the apologetic sentiment. He offered to send security up to tell them to be quieter, but I told him I doubted they were even being really loud, so no thanks. He then offered free breakfast (because, no, breakfast is NOT free here), and I told him I doubted I'd actually be awake for that. I told him free breakfast isn't enough, so he asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted my money for a night back, and he said that's not possible since I paid in advance, but he offered me 4,000 points toward a future hotel stay elsewhere. I understand this hotel was recently renovated, but like others have said, a coat of paint doesn't make this place suddenly nice or even comfortable. The lobby looks nice. The photos of the rooms look nice. But my experience has not been nice. I'd never recommend this place to anyone, unless they were a super heavy sleeper. They might do okay here. As for me, I'm sure as heck not looking forward to my commute back home tomorrow and will be relying heavily on caffeine to get through the day.

Flowers from House Keeping, to cheer us on!

My mom and I stayed at this hotel while I was in town last August, and the staff and management were so nice! The room was clean and well-stocked with towels and washcloths, which says a lot as we went through quite a few due to a recovery from surgery. Not only did the hotel help us get around town with their shuttle, house keeping gave me roses and wished a speedy recovery. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in town.

Picture if you will, a weary couple traveling with their Jack Russell Terrier on a road trip from Philly to Key West. They made an overnight stop at the Sheraton Richmond Park South Hotel at 11:30pm on Friday, June 27. After settling into Room 256 the following conversation took place: Me: "Bone under the bed..." My Wife: "No way; you're disgusting." Me: "NO NO! THERE IS AN ACTUAL BONE UNDER OUR BED!?!" We were traveling with our Jack Russell terrier and obviously had been given the "dog room" because our little guy was going crazy sniffing every inch of the room. His terrier instincts kicked in and he went to ground under our bed and led me to find a disgustingly dusty bone that had been overlooked by housekeeping. Since it was very late & the front desk was an unorganized mess we decided to tweet a picture of the bone and ask @spg for assistance. As per normal @spg responded immediately, to apologize & help us with the situation. We were told the manager would be in contact the next day. Upon check out we were asked if we could wait a bit longer until the duty manger arrived to discuss our issues. We declined stating we were on a tight schedule and we could not wait to leave. We finally heard from the duty manager the next day and she offered her apologies as well as a few goodwill gestures including SPG points. Observations During Our Stay: 1.) Hotel is in desperate need of renovation 2.) Dirty Carpets 3.) Elevators & hallways reeked of pot. 4.) "Club Lounge" was a joke. There was a TV missing from the wall! We were told breakfast started at 6:30am. There were continental items available: cereals, fruit, breads & pastries, but no hot option. 5.) No carts available to assist with our luggage at 11:30pm. Seriously? Although the front desk manager offered to help us with our luggage. 6.) Disorganized check in; found 3 staff members talking amongst themselves before even acknowledging my wife standing there. 7.) No mention of an SPG welcome amenity until we asked; and when we did we were given points & Club Access. 8.) Malfunctioning card scanner further delayed the already long check in process. This experience is just another gust of wind in the sails of our ship sailing away from SPG properties. We've been loyal to SPG since 2003 but we're beginning to see bluer waters at other hotel brands.

I used to live in the Fan/Museum District, and I love this place because it is in such a good location, right next to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (which I highly recommend as well!), as well as walking distance to shops and restaurants in Carytown, the Fan, etc. We stayed in the carriage house the first time and the house itself the second time. Both were very cozy, with lots of amenities, such as bathrobes, bottled water, and coffee pot/tea in the room. The breakfast in the morning is phenomenal. It is made to order, with eggs, bacon, various rolls, oatmeal, coffee, etc. and served in the house's dining room. The staff is absolutely lovely and so welcoming. Another added bonus is that they provide tickets for admission to the special exhibit at the VMFA, as well as passes to get a free drink in their cafeteria. Love, love, LOVE this place. Highly recommend!

It's within walking distance of Richmond's greatest museums as well as the popular Carytown neighborhood where we spent much of our visit. When we arrived, Sean and Polly weren't at home, but we were provided with an access code to get in to the guest rooms. We were absolutely floored when we walked in. The One only has two guest rooms, which makes it the perfect place for privacy. Our room, The Dream Suite, is located at the top of the stairs and is beautifully decorated in shades of deep red. My only very minor gripe is that the bathrooms are no located "en suite." Instead, they are directly outside the rooms. So while each bedroom does have its own bathroom, you do need to leave your room to get to it. Not a huge deal since there are only two guest rooms...but you can't traipse to the bathroom naked at 2am, either! The parlor is located across the hall from the guest rooms and is not only a comfortable lounge spot, but is also stocked full of snacks and beverages. This is also where continental breakfast is served in the morning. The spread is pretty standard- muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. It didn't particularly suit my fancy (way too carb-heavy), but it's the type of breakfast my boyfriend loves. Sean and Polly were fantastic hosts; very attentive and friendly. Honestly, they were the best B&B owners I have ever interacted with. You can tell that they truly love what they do. We can't wait to go back to Richmond to spend another night at The One. Thanks to Polly and Sean for a great stay!

We had an excellent experience for such an affordable hotel. We had a mini fridge, microwave, and safe in our room. We also loved the free breakfast, which included omelets, sausage, potatoes, bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, etc. etc. Most importantly, the hotel manager Paatric Gutu was super helpful and attentive - recommend!

Checked in around 6 and were greeted by John who made the process smooth and effortless. He recommended several events going on when we told him we were in town for the concert that we might like and was very friendly and personable. Room was a suite with separate sitting room, mini fridge, microwave and bathroom. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was free (and one of the selling points we looked for when booking) from 6:30am-9:30am and consisted of usual fare: Omelets, pancakes, sausage, cereal, bagels/muffins, yogurt, fruit and juices/coffee. Only real downside is its not the most up to date room wise and felt kind of cold with large industrial doors. Not a huge issue for us, but others might knock it. Parking is also a bit of a tight squeeze, located under the hotel on the ground and level 1. We drive a sedan and had some issues getting out of the car with other cars/SUVs parked close. Doable but it could use respacing.
