Unfortunately, the customer experience with ownership during the planning process and event was disappointing. While I completely understand minimum requirements for reserving private event space, there was repeated emphasis and concern surrounding the spending minimum throughout the coordination process and even during the event itself. Instead of feeling welcomed and appreciated as a large community group supporting a local business, the interaction often felt centered more around financial concern than hospitality. There was also confusion and unnecessary stress surrounding simple accommodations, such as pizza options for small children and menu flexibility questions. Additionally, rather than proactively communicating where we stood relative to the minimum during the evening, the remaining balance was not discussed until checkout, resulting in an out-of-pocket charge at the end of the event. Understanding the possibility of having to pay the difference was discussed during planning and I was reminded of this upon arrival, it still would have been kind to provide a heads up with regards to where the group stood vs waiting until the very end. Maybe even providing an option for the group to still have an opportunity to purchase more items.
