My experience here was exceptional. The waitress was outstanding in every way and the food was absolutely delicious.

Every time I come service is horrible. Wait anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes for the food employees are very rude. Never have the food ready.

I do not recommend this place. It looked so new and fresh when we pulled up. We got there as they were opening for the day. Service was slow. Though we were the first and only customers for 10-15 min, we waited longer than that to get our beverages. We both ordered Reuben sandwiches with fries. The fries were fresh and hot. Not hand-cut fries, but crinkle fries. The fries were good. The sandwich was not a Reuben. Idk what the meat was, but it was little knots and wiggles of some dry, grilled meat that had a wad of unchewable gristle in every other bite. The cheese was NOT Swiss, as ANY Reuben has. I mean a Reuben is corned beef, Swiss and sauerkraut plus dressings, right? This was white American cheese. I thought it was white cheese Whiz until I shot the pic. Idk what the dressing was, but it didn't even give off a vibe of thousand island dressing nor was there mustard. My husband choked over half his sandwich down before the server checked on us to find out I wasn't satisfied. Came back to say the manager wanted to offer me something else from the menu. I didn't want to sit another half hour for more mediocrity. I told her no thank you. 10-15 min later the manager asked how she could fix the issue. We had been there too long for me to want to wait longer for something I really didn't want. The check arrived. It was for everything ordered, which is fine. I made the mistake of going in without checking reviews. But, now you know. Don't make the same mistake. One more aside. I like their food. However, they lack sides.. Additionally, their food has gotten way more expensive for less quantity. I have been going here for years and the amount of french fries you get is now about half of what you used to get. A sandwich and about 15 fries is around $20. Too expensive. We ordered 4 dishes on Monday to be delivered on Saturday at 5:00 PM. That is a Five-day notice with plenty of time to make it and deliver it. At 5:15, I called and said I/m supposed to have a delivery at 5:00, it hasn't arrived yet. The manger/supervisor/who every I talked to said, they were busy. I said really, I don't care how busy you are, we made an agreement; I paid you for said agreement and I expected you to hold up your end of the bargain and deliver the food on time. Now remember a 5-day advance notice. After checking, he said, they will be there in 10 minutes. Well 30 minutes later I called back and said, they are still not here. Same guy said, they will be there in 10 minutes. I said, WOW, really, it's the same answer you gave me 1/2 hour ago. Are you reading a script? I Don't remember if he even apologized or not but 1 hour late for a party that started at 5:00. Not even "hey, will throw something in for your trouble". I have driven past this place one hundred times. Now that I'm boycotting Palermo's (read the reviews for that place), I needed an Italian restaurant that was close by. I was not disappointed!! Service was great, big selection of food from fancy seafood dishes to pizzas. Lots for the kiddies too. There is even a private room for special events and occasions. From my vantage point, I could see the cook staff working as a team to get the food prepared. I could see the steam coming off the plates as the server went to retrieve them. What a novel approach...meals coming out at the same time! (See the reviews for that previously mentioned place) Try the calamari.., fresh with two yummy sauces. This is not frozen box calamari. Came in on a hot Saturday night around 6:45. There were not many people here at the time. As we ate a few more people showed up for dinner. There were also a few people who came in to get pick up orders. We sat right away. They asked if we prefer a booth or table. Booths seem to be where everyone was sitting. We ordered a round of drinks. They do have a wine list. It we went with beer. Got a Yengling and a Bluemoon. There draft beers were not very cold. If they were we may have ordered a second drink. I asked the waitress what everyone like. She said the penne alla vodka. So I go that with shrimp. Is was good. I ate the whole thing with a little help from my daughter who seemed to eat all the shrimp. The seating in the back of the restaurant was close to the ovens so it was a little warmer in the back. As we walked out there was a room on the right that was empty but it was much cooler up there. It may be a party room or just overflow. We were in and out real quick. Dolce Vita is a small Italian restaurant with a brisk business. Our soccer team comes here for dinner sometimes when we have early games. I love that you can get spaghetti squash instead of pasta if you're eating low carb. Today we ordered the Mediterranean Insalata, which has organic mixed greens, kalamata olives, marinated artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and feta cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. This is a terrific salad with all of the things I like. I tend more toward salty and pickled foods, so this hit the spot. The one downside is that it's small for the price. Calamari Fritti, which is lightly battered and fried squid with marinara. The squid were like rubber bands. Chicken Dolce Vita...a rigatoni dish with chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, capers and asparagus in a lemon butter sauce (think chicken piccata). Also very good. My daughter ate the pasta and, while she skipped the tomatoes and artichokes, she devoured it. The meal comes with either garlic or plain rolls. We opted for a mix of both. If you're in the area, definitely give them a shot. They have a nice menu with a wide selection. read more

I had gotten penne with shrimp and they had blackened it without telling me or asking if I wanted it to be. I have a food allergy so I can't have my food blackened. When asked why they blackened the shrimp without asking the owners said I should ask if it was blackened before I had ordered it but it was never on the menu. The owners never apologized and tried to blame me for the mixed up. Never going back. read more

Good chicken tenders, disappointing music taste. I walked into this restaurant with high hopes for good authentic Italian music but no. What I heard was not authentic Italian restaurant music it was songs from Encanto, and kid cudi, which is fine I love kid cudi, but songs from encanto have bad influences on young children. Besides from the music the food was impeccable, I got the chicken tenders and fries which was some of the best I've ever had from an Italian restaurant. One more complaint I have is the flowers on the table, that are real, that made me crave some dandelions. We order pizza from Dolce Vita at least once a month, sometimes more often. It's the best pizza I have been able to find near us and believe me, I have tried a lot of pizza to finally settle on Dolce Vita. We haven't tried many of their other offerings. It seems we can't get past the pizza. We had a large with half cheese and the other half covered in pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions and black olives. It was huge and it cost less than $17. We end up freezing a third of it each time we buy one. We have never gotten a bad pizza there. I usually indulge in a lot of verbiage and tell a little story about my experience at a restaurant, but in these days of "social distancing" and "Sheltering at home", in-store experiences are not advised. Okay so I actually trued this place by accident. My roomate ordered a dish & they gave her the wrong thing by accident so she gave me the mess up order after she got the correct one. I ate the eggplant parmigiana with meat sauce. Let me tell you this is one of the best things I've eaten from an italian restaurant. The eggplant had an amazing savory flavor & the sauce was the right level of tart. This was so good i saved half for lunch so i could eat it more than once! Imagine a Mom & Pop Italian restaurant and that is exactly what Dolce Vita is. It's no Mamma Zu's but you can always rely on Dolce Vita providing you a filling meal. My husband and I go through phases as far as places we go to. A few years ago... we couldn't get enough of going to this place... went probably almost every other week for 6 months.... as it was an easy, quick and reliable meal. It also was a good option when my husband used to coach at Midlothian High, since we could hit it up after a game. At that time we lived on the other side of Midlothian, we recently moved to this side of Midlothian and figured out Carry Out is the way to go when we are too lazy to cook. They don't do delivery... but for those of you who live in Midlothian, check out Midlothian Delivered (picks up and delivers meals from any restaurant in the area for a nominal fee... good for people that have kids and have a craving for something but can't step out). Anyway, we've been ordering their pizzas (Greek, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken, White Pizza all delicious... their crust is not super thick, crispy and chewy and not greasy either), Chicken Parmesan (we request the marinara on the side that way if you have leftovers it doesn't make the breaded chicken soggy), we also like their Calamari (it comes with marinara and a side of this Spicy Aioli which is also delish... we like to stick it back in our oven to crisp it up when we get it to go). All in all it's not going to be the best meal you have ever had but it's good... kind of like a home cooked meal that you could probably cook at home but you can save the time and order from them :) Note: The only thing that I have never been a fan of is their bread... sad really because I wished they offered French crusty bread with garlic topping or garlic knots or something like that.... their rolls are usually dry even though they are huge and always hot... so sad because I love bread... and every time I eat their complimentary bread I wish they saved the time it took for them to make the bread and invest their time in something I would actually eat. read more

I had a very select experience. So take my review with a grain of salt. Had a Living Social coupon and called at 3:00 to order a Small Tray of their House Pasta to be picked up at 5:30. The person taking my order on the phone was very nice and polite. 5:30 rolls around and I'm still 30 minutes away. I called again to let them know I'd be late but was still coming. They let me know that they would keep it warm for me. Again, very nice and polite. When I arrived they carried the pan out to the car for me because it was so hot. I was impressed. The pan was HUGE. The pasta was rotini in a marinara sauce with italian sausage and meatballs and melted cheese on top. It was FANTASTIC. Everyone in the family loved it! We were embarrassed that we ate so much of it but it was so so good. The next day we reheated it and it was still delicious. I believe it lists that it should feed 8-10.
