    Slice I ate (deluxe)

Angelos Midlothian 5/7/25 6:55 pm I must say I'm a fan of the decor and everything appears very clean. They were pretty packed. I sat on the lovely screened in porch which is where I took my photos. The bathroom was also clean and appealing to the eyes. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. This is a Family style restaurant. I ordered a Large Delux pizza because on this day it was $4 or $5 off a large. For me, the pizza had way too many toppings. And this caused the pizza to end up being wet and soft. That did not sit well with me. I feel like less is more when it comes to pizza. Not only because of the sogginess, but who needs all of that on the pizza? You just need enough to taste pizza is more about the dough, cheese and the sauce. Anyway, because of all the toppings causing the pizza to be soggy I will not go back. I only ate 1 slice. The potential for great pizza is there if they didn't put so many toppings that caused water which caused it to be soggy.

I preserved many things today as I am visiting our son in Midlo. Heard good things about Angelo's and ordered eggplant parmigiana, fettuccini Alfredo, sachets, salads, New York style pizza and pasta a la vodka Well here's the review Timely preparation for an out of restaurant preparation The food was absolutely delicious including for a New Yorker the New York style pizz which was thin perfect sauce and cheese distribution The pastas were divine but the sachets reached stellar level As a New York snob this food is divine and competes with Il Mulino nyc Bravo

This is my first time eating in the new location. But we have been to the old location a bunch. And we still get take out and catering when we are visiting family. We came in around 6:00 on a Sunday and thought it would be crowded. But there wasn't a wait at all. By the time we left the place looked completely full. The staff was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I think there were different people running out food and picking up our empty dishes. Everything was great. I got a small Sicilian pizza. There was so much sausage on it. I loved it. The dough was nice a crispy. I ate half and had the rest for dinner the next day.

I can't say enough good things about Angelos! I tell everyone about Angelos and it is my favorite Italian restaurant in Midlothian! I frequent all the time with my friends and when my family comes into town, I always take them to Angelos ! The staff is always super friendly and the atmosphere is amazing ! Angelos is always a 12/10

Solid undercooked cheese center that slid all over the place

We have rotated between a handful of pizza places since moving to the area and Angelos is by far the most inconsistent. Some times it's great others it's just bad with undercooked cheese sliding off. This last visit will be my last the curbside person came out holding the pizza not at all flat which paired with a poorly cooked pizza gave me a gross solid mass of shifted cheese. I wish this place could be consistent because when it was good it was one of our favorite but with them already being one of the more expensive places it's just not worth it over the other choices

My wife and I and a group of 22 friends reserved a separate room for a delicious lunch. Our room was private and perfect size. Our waitress, Angel, was friendly, prompt and on top of everything. Some people ordered pizza, others seafood Alfredo, some sandwiches, some manicotti, etc. everyone seemed very pleased with the taste of their meal My pepperoni pizza was delicious, just a tad greasy but very flavorful and well prepared. My wife loved the cheese ravioli. Cheese was nice and thick and very tasty. Our salads were excellent. They come with a nice big slice of cheese. We will definitely be back either just ourselves or the next time we decide to go out with a larger group because they seem very good at accommodating this. Overall, a very, very good experience.

As always a wonderful meal and great conversation. We got the smoked salmon appetizer which came out on a huge plate with a large portion. The salmon was fresh and delicious. I got the shrimp scampi for the first time which was also a large portion with plenty of shrimp! Enough for two servings. Service was great as always. Come check out their new screened in patio too!

My husband and I got takeout from here on Saturday night, it was our first time ordering from here. My sister in law raves about this place all the time, so I was excited to try it. We ordered the calamari, coconut shrimp, slice of pepperoni pizza for our toddler and a small Sicilian pizza. The only that was was good was the calamari and the slice of pizza. The coconut shrimp batter was uncooked and the shrimp tasted raw. The Sicilian was very greasy. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

All the food we had was good and I liked the enclosed patio area a lot. Everyone seemed very nice and it was a lovely Italian comfort dinner.

Everything on the plate had its own distinct textures and flavors. Even had leftovers. (This never happens to me with fish.) My friend had the seafood paella. Beautiful dish. No reservations but I was able to be seated immediately and was given complimentary herb crusted bread with oil/balsamic vinegar mixture for dipping. The bread was very tasty however the olive oil was very "oily" and overpowering flavor wise. I ended up pouring most of the olive oil out and leaving the balsamic vinegar for dipping and that did the trick. The bread was very light and airy. Highly recommend 10/10! I ordered the Maria's Margarita ($14) for a beverage. I did request to substitute the orange juice for pineapple juice. Not sure if this significantly changed the profile of the drink but I anticipated it being sweeter than it was. It was just okay, nothing spectacular. I likely wouldn't order it again. I ordered two entrees: crabcake ($25) and chicken Alfredo ($24). The alfredo felt a little elevated with mafaldine noodles in lieu of traditional fettuccine. I wanted to love this dish but it lacked flavor and seasoning. When I added salt it definitely tasted much better and was more enjoyable. Some pieces of chicken texture was off and hard. The second entree, the crabcake was flavorful, but very different than any other crabcake I've ever tasted. It had 2 sauces on the side: chipotle aioli and eggplant puree. The sauces were competing interests. Also the makeup of the crabcake felt like there was more breading base in place of actual crabmeat. Additionally, I was very surprised it only came with one small crabcake especially for $25. That price seems a little steep, in my opinion. I wanted so much to love this place especially with all the good reviews but it fell a little flat and left me disappointed overall. The food arrived pretty quickly and it didn't seem busy. My server John was very friendly, helpful and attentive so the service was great, no complaints. The venue is absolutely beautiful and very intimate. They have 2 sides and the bar area is located in the middle. Oh and before I forget, the hostess Irving was very sweet, super helpful and appreciative of the feedback I gave directly to him about my experience overall. My total was $66.78 and with tip my overall bill came to $80. I'm undecided on whether I will be returning. I need to think on it some more. The 3 stars given are mostly for the overall beauty of the restaurant, service, and the delicious bread.

At our table standing was a youthful warm smile waiting that made us feel ok to stay. I overheard someone calling the name of the woman at the door, and they said Patricia. Our server's name was Jocelyn and she was very delightful. Our server made suggestions and explained that most of the pasta is made in house. Still observing and listening. OMG, the woman is the manager. Mam, I'm sure you will be pleased to know that we will NOT return. She walked by several times smiling and conversing warmly with other guests. This is an authentic looking and a bit dated Italian Restaurant. I'll be brief here. I had the spaghetti and meat sauce. The pasta had that obvious taste of homemade and the sauce as well. The bread was homemade with the potential to be good, if it was warm and soft, not crunchy. I had the salad packaged to go. Appetizer was fried zucchini that was golden brown, crunchy and flavorful. RVA has MANY Choices of restaurants to choose and I should've known better.

Still about a three star experience although it has a potential to be a 4.5/5. The hostess…read moresituation is completely disheveled, as it was the last two times I came here, so they haven't worked that out yet. The sign says "wait to be seated", but there's no one attending the hostess station. This is a common, recurring problem here. After a solid five minutes of standing there with no greeting from anyone, a waiter sees us and comes over to ask how many. We tell him we have a reservation for three people, give him our name, and say he says OK I'll be right back. Let me see what I have set up. Off he goes, and we never see him again. So we stand there another 4 to 5 minutes, and a second waiter comes by to tend to us. We give our name and reservation details. He goes off, also never to be seen again. We wait another 3 to 4 minutes and a woman who looks like the hostess comes around and so for the third time we give our name reservation time and tell her that we requested a booth. She takes a long time, stacking menus and putting the paper part back into the menu sleeves, and then finally gets three menus together and takes us to a table. So then we have to say (again), no we requested a booth, and so then we have to stand by a dirty booth and wait for them to clean it. So the whole beginning of the dinner process is already a mess and that sets a terrible and frustrating tone for the evening. First experiences inside a restaurant are so important and they just don't recognize that here On to dinner. Our waitress comes over and she's lovely, friendly, and seems on top of things at the beginning . We order a couple of drinks and the meatball appetizer while we peruse the menu. A long time goes by and we get our drinks. And then another long time goes by with no appetizer appearing at the table and she comes to take our dinner order. (She had not yet read us the specials so we had to ask for what they were because we heard the waiter behind us giving the specials, but couldn't hear well enough to catch them-I'm pretty sure our waitress was gonna skip over reciting the specials-) . After again, another long amount of time our salads come out, but still no appetizer. So I mention..." we have a meatball appetizer coming right?". She says yes and heads off. (The appetizer should come before the salad, especially when it was ordered way before). So halfway through the salads, the meatballs come. Now I love a meatball and all varieties of a meatballs. These were super firm (like... it took a hard push with a knife to cut into them ), they were barely lukewarm, with a barely melted slab of mozzarella on top. Had they been hot, with the cheese nice and bubbly, they would have been pretty good despite being overly firm and super salty (and I love salt) Entrees came piping hot and were very good (mezze rigatoni and lobster ravioli, and a kids spaghetti) Garlic knots were delicious. Wine pour was great. I think the kitchen, not the waitress, was super slow which impacted our experience. And for a place that stays this busy, they need to hire a hostess to attend the front desk, so that guests are promptly welcomed and seating is managed efficiently. Menu is extensive and the place has great potential.

It looks like it would be more of an upscale place, but I would say it's a normal eatery that works well for a casual lunch or something a little nicer too. I went with the soup of the day which was chicken orzo. My mom chose the lamb gyro sandwich and for her side she went with the veggie of the day which was roasted Brussels sprouts with honey. Overall I thought the food was good. It was definitely well-seasoned. The orzo in the soup was a little mushy for my preference, but the fettuccine was a good texture. The white clam sauce was loaded with clams and garlic. I really enjoyed my dish. My mom enjoyed her gyro sandwich, I did take a small taste of the lamb and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were probably my favorite of everything though. They were roasted perfectly, still a little firm with some crispier toastier leaves in the mix and a sweet glaze. The service was fine, I thought the server was very nice. She was most attentive when waiting for us to order, and at the end of our meal she boxed our food up for us which is always a nice touch.
