We recently hosted a high school softball team banquet for approximately 40 people. The food was very good, and the serving staff did a wonderful job handling a large group efficiently throughout the evening. Overall, the dinner itself went smoothly, and our families enjoyed celebrating the players and coaches together. Unfortunately, the customer experience with ownership during the planning process and event was disappointing. While I completely understand minimum requirements for reserving private event space, there was repeated emphasis and concern surrounding the spending minimum throughout the coordination process and even during the event itself. Instead of feeling welcomed and appreciated as a large community group supporting a local business, the interaction often felt centered more around financial concern than hospitality. There was also confusion and unnecessary stress surrounding simple accommodations, such as pizza options for small children and menu flexibility questions. Additionally, rather than proactively communicating where we stood relative to the minimum during the evening, the remaining balance was not discussed until checkout, resulting in an out-of-pocket charge at the end of the event. Understanding the possibility of having to pay the difference was discussed during planning and I was reminded of this upon arrival, it still would have been kind to provide a heads up with regards to where the group stood vs waiting until the very end. Maybe even providing an option for the group to still have an opportunity to purchase more items. I truly appreciated the servers and the quality of the food, but the overall experience with management unfortunately took away from what should have been a celebratory and enjoyable evening for our team families. read more

Seafood Fra Diablo is best in Chesterfield County.. Service compliments the food quality, bar will accommodate the customers tastes if you ask them to modify their liquor recipes. Penne carbonara is also outstanding. Muscles Marinara is another dish I recommend. This establishment is tops on my list of Midlothian located Italian restaurants. read more

Not as good experience as expected. I do like a a correctly prepared Bruschetta but the kitchen completely missed the mark. This very simple appetizer should be served on toasted garlic Italian bread rounds so the toppings will not saturate the TOASTED bread. My order was not prepared correctly so the BRUSCHETTA was like eating a mouth full of mush. Secondly, the the balsamic vinegar used here is far to strong and the only thing that tempers the taste is the balsamic glaze. Had to sprinkle some sugar to tolerate the vinegar in the balsamic. For $9.50 for 6 of these is a tall price for a such a terribly prepared appetizer. read more

The bathroom was also clean and appealing to the eyes. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. This is a Family style restaurant. I ordered a Large Delux pizza because on this day it was $4 or $5 off a large. For me, the pizza had way too many toppings. And this caused the pizza to end up being wet and soft. That did not sit well with me. I feel like less is more when it comes to pizza. Not only because of the sogginess, but who needs all of that on the pizza? You just need enough to taste pizza is more about the dough, cheese and the sauce. Anyway, because of all the toppings causing the pizza to be soggy I will not go back. I only ate 1 slice. The potential for great pizza is there if they didn't put so many toppings that caused water which caused it to be soggy. read more

I am saddened to write this review. As a family we had fond memories here. Bathrooms: were very dirty, full trash can, soiled toilet seat and bowl. No maintenance for the obvious door knob. Note this is the only bathroom for men and women. Food: vegetables were so seasoned I could not taste the vegetables. The tuna sub had so much mayo I could not taste the tuna. Service: Smiley was excellent! I won't be back; very sad. read more

I have had food from Angelos a few times now and it has always been good. I like the Stromboli the best so far. Ill be going again for sure.

This is my first time eating in the new location. But we have been to the old location a bunch. And we still get take out and catering when we are visiting family. We came in around 6:00 on a Sunday and thought it would be crowded. But there wasn't a wait at all. By the time we left the place looked completely full. The staff was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I think there were different people running out food and picking up our empty dishes. Everything was great. I got a small Sicilian pizza. There was so much sausage on it. I loved it. The dough was nice a crispy. I ate half and had the rest for dinner the next day. read more

We have rotated between a handful of pizza places since moving to the area and Angelos is by far the most inconsistent. Some times it's great others it's just bad with undercooked cheese sliding off. This last visit will be my last the curbside person came out holding the pizza not at all flat which paired with a poorly cooked pizza gave me a gross solid mass of shifted cheese. I wish this place could be consistent because when it was good it was one of our favorite but with them already being one of the more expensive places it's just not worth it over the other choices read more

We really enjoyed our first experience at Angelos. The food was great and the staff was super friendly!

My wife and I and a group of 22 friends reserved a separate room for a delicious lunch. Our room was private and perfect size. Our waitress, Angel, was friendly, prompt and on top of everything. Some people ordered pizza, others seafood Alfredo, some sandwiches, some manicotti, etc. everyone seemed very pleased with the taste of their meal My pepperoni pizza was delicious, just a tad greasy but very flavorful and well prepared. My wife loved the cheese ravioli. Cheese was nice and thick and very tasty. Our salads were excellent. They come with a nice big slice of cheese. We will definitely be back either just ourselves or the next time we decide to go out with a larger group because they seem very good at accommodating this. Came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner with my wife. Parking lot was pretty full as was the restaurant at 7:30pm or so. Good sign. That said, we were still able to get a table without a wait. I tried the lasagna special (great deal). My wife had a pasta dish primavera with alfredo sauce. Both were tasty. We also shared an order of garlic bread with moz and marinara (generous portion, tasty). For desert, we shared creme brulee. Generous portions for the entrees. Everything was tasty and we had plenty to take home with us. Small wine list, but good enough for rock and roll. TIP: the salads which come with your meal will likely contain coldcuts as is traditional. Nice touch. But if you have a vegetarian with you, just remember to ask for them to hold the antipasto. Service was fast and friendly. A manager or two checked on us during our stay and our waitress checked on us frequently and cheerfully. Great job. Reasonable prices. Chill atmosphere. Very nice free standing restaurant that serves a wide range of Italian meals & salads. They are delicious and reflect home cooked recipes. The service is excellent, both friendly and personal. They were happy to explain dishes in detail. The decor is warm and very Italian. Ample parking and handicap friendly. My husband and I got takeout from here on Saturday night, it was our first time ordering from here. My sister in law raves about this place all the time, so I was excited to try it. We ordered the calamari, coconut shrimp, slice of pepperoni pizza for our toddler and a small Sicilian pizza. The only that was was good was the calamari and the slice of pizza. The coconut shrimp batter was uncooked and the shrimp tasted raw. The Sicilian was very greasy. Maybe we caught them on a bad night. read more

Food tasted super bland and straight out of the can! My spaghetti was super watery and totally unseasoned. My friends dish also tasted bland and unseasoned. The mozzarella sticks were good but they are the exact same distinctive sticks I got from a cafe nearby so I imagine their a bulk bought item that's just reheated. I was very disappointed and sad seeing they advertise as a authentic Italian restaurant. The service though was great the young worker did a great job. As for the building it felt like it was definitely trying to feel authentic with all the pretty murals on the walls but I'm not sure if their just a decoy to fool ya. Also when we arrived it was nice and quiet but after being there for a little the place totally filled up and was so so loud you had to yell to just have a conversation with the person across you. read more

My wife and I had dinner recently at this restaurant. The service was good. The coconut shrimp was like shoe leather. Who sends food out of the kitchen like that? You would think you could get spaghetti and meatballs without up charge for the meatballs of 5 dollars. We had two spaghetti meals with up charged meatballs, and a appetizer. My wife had one IPA beer. The total charge was $73 dollars and they added 3% for not paying in cash. The spaghetti was ok, but not great. There are other places in Richmond where you can get better food at a better value. The pizza looked good and that's all I would probably get at this restaurant and there are other places where you can get same quality of pizza if not better at a lower price. My husband's veal dish was watery, lasagna just ok, spaghetti just ok. My eggplant dish was the best but difficult to find the eggplant or the fresh mozzarella. Bread was dry and hard. Angelo's is a North Chesterfield institution. They've been around for a long time or so I've been told. I've been to their old location once and I'm thrilled they've moved and are now less than two miles from my house. I've been to Angelo's a total of three times and plan to go back quite often. I've had the baked spaghetti, pepperoni pizza, chicken cacciatore, basked lasagna, and their deluxe pizza. I would steer clear of the deluxe pizza and get minimum toppings. My son feels their classic pepperoni pizza might be his #1 in the entire vicinity. That's some pretty high praise from a teenage food snob. Since this is their new location the foot traffic has been insane. In spite of that, they have good hustle in their step and run a pretty tight ship. Food wise I'm mostly satisfied with everything. I haven't found my signature dish but I'll find it in time. I'm ready to try their veal parm, Gnocchi, Carbonara, and Eggplant Parmigiana. Angelo's ristorante is everything great about America. Brought our dog with us to dinner and they were most accommodating! They had a fantastic outdoor eating area fully enclosed and screened. Ceiling fans, outdoor heaters, outdoor fireplace and big screen TV near the bar that is also outside. The waitress and hostess helped us get settled with our girl and brought her own bowl of water. Extremely impressed with Angelo's after last nights family dinner. I called the day before for a reservation for 13 people, at 6:30, on a Saturday, that just happened to be New Years Day. Talk about the perfect storm of not being able to find anywhere! Luckily, Angelo's said they could make it work. We arrived early, and were sat immediately. The hostess knew which party we were as soon as we walked in too, even though we didn't have the full group there. Our table got quite the variety of food - pizzas, subs, salads, I got the penne with vodka sauce, and some chicken tenders for the kids. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we probably could've gotten away with splitting some of the meals with how large the portion sizes are! Everything was delicious. I was absolutely starving, and still only managed to finish a quarter of my pasta. Our server (who's name I unfortunately cannot remember!) was great and handled our large party with patience as it took a while to decide on items! I've done lunch here only once before, but I believe it will need to become a staple on the rotation. Very grateful they were able to accommodate us, and we really enjoyed our meal here. read more

Not sure what is going on but this has always been our go to Italian restaurant in Midlothian. But twice now we have ordered pizzas and they have been crazy salty with hardly any sauce. It's sad. We came by on a Friday night and it was packed, both dine-in and to go. Despite the fact that they were super busy , we were offered patio seating right away. We initially declined because we were aware that it was heated as it was our first visit. We ended up in the patio since we didn't want to wait and it was perfectly warm. Anyways, we ordered their fried ravioli as an appetizer and I had the pesto pasta. My husband ordered the chicken Alfredo with broccoli. The ravioli was really good, the cheese was delicious and you really didn't even need to dip it in the marinara sauce. I also really enjoyed the chicken pesto pasta. Service is prompt and properly attentive to the little extras when requested. The pasta came with a large spoon for twirling. I did not have to ask. I had chicken Francesca. It was just perfect. There was pasta liquid in the dish which watered down the sauce which was too bad. I would think a couple of extra shakes will eliminate that water in the pasta bowl. There was a generous amount of chicken in this dish. My husband had the lasagna. He says it was among the best he has had. Be forewarned the serving looks bigger than it is due to the shallow bowl it is served in. My husband said the serving size was just right for him. The bread is yummy.
