As long as this spot has been here, I can't believe I've only just tried it when I came with a friend who raved about this small, dimly-lit restaurant at Staples Mill and Broad. The service was super friendly. I ordered the kreatopita and a salmon salad. My friend got the spanikopita and eggplant parmesan. The kreatopita and spanikopita were plentiful! Wow, what a nice portion. I'd never had kreatopita before, but it's a meat-filled version of the phyllo dough stuffed appetizers. They were good. Might have been tastier (and more expensive) if they were stuffed with lamb instead of beef. The spanikopita were yummy. My favorite Greek thing, probably. My salmon salad was forgettable. Unfortunately, the salmon was overcooked, and the salad just didn't have much flavor, otherwise. I hate when salad tastes like water. Not sure why, but the lettuces had no flavor at all, and lettuce has flavor. My friend's eggplant parmesan was plentiful. Very large portion. He liked it. I tasted it, and it was just average. I'd probably come back to try the gyro, or for future orders of spanikopita and tiropita when I'm in the mood for standard Greek fare.

We were back again this past Thursday. Let's just say this is one of my favorites in Richmond. Upon entering for lunch we were greeted with smiles and sat immediately. Cat was there ready to serve us. She once again killed it for us. I had the Horiatiki Village Salad (Tomato Salad) and a side of fries. There fries are awesome. Crispy outside, soft pillowy inside and salty goodness. My coworker had the Spicy Lamb Burger special. He said it was great. Both brought the flavor and were very satisfying. This visit we got a table side visit from Toula, one of the owners. She was very nice and we appreciated the visit. Thank you! Obviously we'll be back. Definitely check them out!

I'm so glad I gave this spot a try! It was really good! The inside is nice and "date night" ready! My waiter was very attentive and helpful when it came to the menu. I ordered the pastichio, but was served moussaka instead. I didn't make a fuss because it was busy lunch time, and I like both. I was a little disappointed because I had my mouth set on the pastichio, but the moussaka was good! I also ordered the kreatopitas to go, which I've never had, and they were delicious. Like Greek egg rolls! I can't wait to go back to finally try the pastichio and Greek spaghetti (which seems very popular). **4 stars is only because I was served the wrong dish, otherwise would've given 5**

Well I'm a week late posting this review, I can assure it's so good here I didn't forget the experience. If you haven't tried this place yet, what are you waiting for? Do it! The food is flavorful, consistent, and a nice variety. If you're fortunate to get Cat as your server then you are in for a treat! You can tell she likes her job and knows her stuff. A+ for service. Be sure to ask her for a straw with your beverage! The owners are great. The interior is warm and inviting. The only issue they may have is with parking after everyone reads this review! Go see for yourselves and enjoy!

The food was great, service was okay. We went during their lunch hours and so it was nice and quiet. The desert was especially amazing!

We had such a wonderful evening here, my friends and I! It checked all the boxes: amazing food, quiet so we can chat, lots of options to choose from, prices were consistent with the meal, and amazing service. They were so accommodating and they know how to run a restaurant - make small talk but don't hover, yet be attentive. My moussaka and yahni was heavenly - and huge. Friends had the souvlaki platter and the Greek spaghetti and the salad with salmon - everyone raved about the tastiness and the generous portions. We had leftovers and then some. I'm not sure why we haven't been here before. Loved the Crazy Greek and it's the same family. I hope this place sticks around because it's going to be our go-to from here on out!

Went there for a late lunch. It still reminded me of all the times I went to the Crazy Greek. Good lunch but a bit pricey.

Food was good but over priced for what you get. For the price, I expected a much better meal.

It's curated without being precious. I came for lunch and got a pastrami sandwich that I'm still thinking about. Thick like a textbook, moist, flavorful. I don't think I've ever actually had real pastrami until that sandwich. My only real critique is the location. It sits along Broad Street near Willow Lawn and it's one of those places you drive past a dozen times without ever stopping. Slightly hard to access, easy to overlook. That's a shame because this isn't a casual grab-and-go -- it's a destination, even if the vibe is completely unpretentious. A friend suggested it and it made my day. The Greek radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s covers of songs I grew up with didn't hurt either. Next time I'm not trying to make just one meal of it.

Their pork roll, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll is a delightful choice. Recently, my boyfriend and I dined in for a casual breakfast. He had the lox on an egg everything bagel, and he was hyped about how good it was. We also tried the German imported coffee, and it was really lovely. At $3, it was a great complement too. We also both imbibed in mixed berry beignets and I needed to stop myself from buying more! The shop is small but has a great range of products to peruse at good prices.

No signage, not detailed on the menu, just an ambush once you've placed your order. It's a bs fee to begin with, but concealing it until the last minute is unethical. I'm guessing it will catch up with y'all as these sorts of sketchy business practices often do.

We were surprised by the size of the restaurant when we walked in. It seems smaller from the outside; not that it was huge, just deceiving. It reminded me of a homey Jason's Deli (IYKYK). The woman at the counter was helpful and kind. We had a few questions about some items on the menu, and she asked the kitchen staff anything that she didn't know offhand. We decided on the fried cauliflower for an appetizer; it was monstrously huge, and much more flavorful than I expected. The spices and textures on the plate added a lot to the dish's overall essence. I ordered the Rachel for an entree, and my partner ordered the Sharona. I subbed the chips for a side salad. The salad was tangy or tart, almost bitter. I didn't mind; I thought it was quite good. It is a lot of acidity if you are not expecting it. The Rachel was fantastic, except that the coleslaw had some onion bits mixed in. We are not onion fans in this household. Ha The Sharona would have been a better choice, as I much prefer pickles to oniony coleslaw. My partner said she really liked hers. We had half a sandwich each for leftovers the next day, and shared the leftover chips, since I finished off my salad the night before. The sandwiches heated up exquisitely in the oven at 325°F for 15 minutes. I felt that Susie's is a definite hidden gem, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a well-made sandwich. I will be back to sample more of the menu and report back my findings at a future date.
