You'll get an accurate, thoughtful response. Lights lower, music softer? She's on it. No stress added that I arrived a couple minutes late. She apparently had time, so she tacked those couple minutes on to the end and I got as many minutes as I actually paid for - that's always super appreciated! It would be nice if the room was a little more soundproofed or located further back in the building away from the road; I could hear lunch hour traffic rushing by on the street about 20 yd away. But other than that, this was a great massage, and I've had plenty over the decades. A lot of therapists these days slop through the motions, but Karen really has a pinpoint, accurate understanding of the human body and I give her full props for 90 minutes of targeted, firm pressure body work. I'd been experiencing pain for about six months before finally making an appointment so didn't expect all of the damage I'd done to be erased in one visit. Jenn asked a lot of questions and got to work. At first I saw Jenn every few weeks. She has used a combination of deep tissue massage, cupping, medi-cupping and has also used a variety of CBD lotions dependent on my pain levels. I really appreciate not only Jenn's abilities as a talented massage therapist, I have also gained so much knowledge from her on other holistic approaches to my healing: stretches and herbal remedies being only a few. Every appointment starts with a discussion about any issues I've had....and lots of times I just tell her to find the areas that seem tight...it really is amazing how she can find the spots to make other parts of my body feel better! Jenn is incredibly dedicated to her business and clients and I appreciate that she is willing to go above and beyond when we discuss issues I experience and how I can supplement my massages. Although I haven't taken advantage of some of the other offerings at Modality, I think that her addition of other treatment methods shows her dedication to providing options for anyone. While I only see Jenn about once a month now, making that first appointment really was one of the best choices I made for myself in a very long time not only physically but mentally as well. Due to working from home (first in a dining room chair then an IKEA desk chair) during the pandemic, I knew my neck and shoulders were going to need some work due to the non-ergonomic chairs and a habit of holding stress in my shoulders. Anne has a playlist of soothing instrumental music play during the massage. For me, she focused on deep tissue to relax the muscles and tendons. I walked out very relaxed and realized I had full range of motion in my neck. Amazing!
