Went downtown Columbus last night with friends and we were planning to eat somewhere different but the place we wanted to eat was closed and the workers where walking out and recommended 4th street grill, we didn't even think it would be that great because when you look it up it says bar. BUT it was absolutely fantastic. I loved everything, the food was so delicious, our food came out very quick and was the perfect temperatures. the mixed drinks were perfect and the prices were right. Our server was great, she was attentive and very nice. The atmosphere was very calm but fun! The theme was super cute. They have a photo wall with a photo booth for free, loved it! You also can sit outside in the summer on the patio with lots of outside lights at night. I highly recommend this bar & grill!! 5 STARS! read more

Fantastic atmosphere, menu, draft list, and service! The hour deals are insane! Great place to grab patio drinks + apps

This is a classic college bar. Actually it was my favorite bar in college. We went for the half off apps and drinks on Tuesdays, and we went back again for Karaoke on the weekend. Many days were spent lounging on the patio sipping bloody marys. They used to serve to-go beer, but have since replaced it with more seating. 4th St can get insanely crowded, so I'm not surprised they made that change. I went back recently after many years, and the place has changed a little, but the bathroom still isn't clean, and it still smells like old beer. It's nostalgic to think we thought it was the bar for the cooler more sophisticated college crowd when we went back in the day. Maybe it still is! I'm sad to say that my favorite portrait of Biggie Smalls that used to grace the wall is long gone, but he'll live on in memory of all the fun times had there years ago. read more

4th Street Bar and Grill is one of the better bars in the eastern University area. It has super cheap drink specials and friendly bartenders. The happy hour is one of the best around. It's very popular for game days. The bar food is better than average too. It has one of the best happy hours in the area. It goes from 2 to 7. They even got it on Saturdays. It's not too crowded if there isn't a big sporting event. The drinks are mostly all half off. It has a nice patio for when it's warm enough. This is a great viewing place for watching the bar crawlers and football fans tearing it up. It also has some better than usual food. The hummus is good and the sriracha hummus is my favorite kind. I would recommend it for happy hour as well as a game day hangout. It has some of the best prices. The atmosphere is great especially if you're watching football on Saturdays. read more

4th Street has become one of my favorite bars since living off campus. Karaoke Wednesday has been a tradition for me and my friends, but recently it's become a go to weekend bar as well. Bartenders are always easy going and good conversation. As much as I appreciate the bar, I might enjoy the food more. Absolutely elite bar food. I'm very particular about my French fries and they nail it every time. My go-to is the sixteenth burger, but today I mixed it up and got the Cali chicken wrap and it might be a new favorite. The chicken was seasoned well and shredded. The corn and bean salsa mixed very well with the cool avocado and spicy chipotle ranch. I also want to mention the new renovations they've done. It creates a very relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect mix between the classic 4th Street campus bar we've all known and loved and a vibe similar to a bar you'd find in the Short North. read more

I hit this bar up for a Crew Event at some friend's recommendations. Free food, cheap beer, and a huge selection of primarily IPAs on tap. So let's be clear - the food? Pretty good. The beer selection? The bottles to go? Great! The bartenders? Most of them were damn good - I was behind a group of people, and the bartender called me out, had my beers and had my tab setup - you know, normally you don't get that kind of great attention from most bartenders. So why one star? Because of the little bitch bar back that decided to start hassling me and my date - "Are you drinking here?" and after more attitude from her and her saying "I work here" we asked her to get us our beer then, and she runs behind the counter. She ruined an otherwise decent night and place, and for that reason, fuck you, little bitchy bar back. read more

We've previously ordered our food through a delivery service but today decided to take a walk for dinner. The food was good before but much better in person. I think that's usual for delivery. Our server was attentive and greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. Her manger occupied a nearby table and the staff seems to have a good vibe with each other. We went to 4th Street Bar due to its proximity to Crew Stadium. We wanted a place that was close that we could grab a beer at and then walk to the stadium. After a quick google search 4th Street Bar seemed to fit the bill. Trust me our expectations were quite low. We made assumption with the location also being close to campus that it would not be a place that we would enjoy ourselves at. The feel is definitely a campus bar. We walked in and were immediately surprised to be greeted by one of the bartenders on hand so quickly. He was quick to get our beer and start our tab. We got a menu and we both decided on the chicken sandwich, one grilled, one fried, both tossed with what they call "Crest Hot". Our food came out hot, and it was the correct order. We took a couple of bites and we were shocked. The food was actually good (for bar food). The compliment is that we would order the same thing again. We should have given this bar more credit from the beginning. What was really incredible is their "Crest Hot". I don't know what it is, but on close examination it has what looks like seasoning in the sauce. It is not just your typical Franks Red Hot. The "Crest Hot" is delicious. And I feel like I need some at home to put on my chicken all the time. To summarize, the bartenders are friendly and on top of it. The food is hot and good. The bar is a campus bar, but its proximity to Crew Stadium is a bonus that can not be overlooked if you are venturing to a game. And the "Crest Hot" is absolutely delectable!!!!! Try 4th Street Bar and Grill out for yourself this summer (by the way they do have a patio, but if you are a non-smoker, you may not enjoy sitting on it). read more

This new bar sitting prominently at the crossroads of North 4th and 16th Ave has a lot of promise. I stopped in on opening night of their soft opening to see what was in store for local residents. The bar itself is quite impressive. The all-wood bar rests on a finished stone wall and is an eye-turner. The establishment looks like a new build so the rehab job was quite successful. There is a lot of open space and booths for patrons to sit at in the adjoining room. There are numerous flat screens adorning the walls, as well as some interesting artwork portraying famous musicians and the like. One of the biggest kickers is the facade and brand new patio. The storefront is a rich black with cool awnings displaying the bar's name. The patio is huuuge considering the location. The tables are limited, but there is plenty of standing room. There are technically two storefronts to the bar, the second of which acts as a carryout, but is also still part of the bar. They carry a plethora of microbrews and due to the unique circumstances of its shared space, these are available for purchase at state minimum prices until 2:30am. Last night the draft beer wasn't quite ready to go as they had just gotten the set up finalized earlier that day, but I was told there will be a sizable draft selection, consisting mostly of microbrews. Due to the absence of beer, I drank white russians last night, and on the bartender's recommendation, I had them made with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka. It's a French Vodka that emulates whipped cream. The stuff was amazing. I'd never seen it before and it's definitely worth a shot. The Samuel Smith bottles, on the other hand, were outrageous at $7 per bottle...for a 12 oz. Steer clear of those until they get that price in check. They are $2.50 retail so the markup is ridiculous. Two more final drawbacks are worth mentioning. One, the lighting was waaaay too intense and bright for a bar. It felt like a pizza joint. They have the ability to dim them more, but opted not to. They need to if they want to be considered a bar and not some sort of eatery (they do have some kind of kitchen, I didn't check it out, but plan to go back). Finally, the digital jukebox is absolutely deplorable. There must have been no one with any sense around when the programmer installed it because most albums only have one selection available on them. Furthermore, it's one fucking dollar per super search song and .50 cents per regular song. Stupidly expensive. The awesome interior and patio might just be enough to keep me going back, but they'll need to get a few of those other elements in check if I'm really going to enjoy myself. Oh, I'm told they also plan to feature a happy hour that lasts the entire day and night on one of their nights, presumably Wednesdays. That happy hour? Half off all drinks. 4th Street Bar and Grill is a campus bar with an awesome selection of draft beers and many drink specials. I've been a few times for drinks, but i've never ordered food. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. I've never have to wait too long for drinks. Another good reason for going is their half-off drinks all day on Tuesdays. Even with the special, it never seems too crowded here. Maybe it's because i've been going during the winter though. The atmosphere is pretty casual and comfortable. College bar means a mostly college crowd, but there are exceptions like myself. Their beer selection is pretty amazing, from wheat beers like Abita's Purple Haze to Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and everything in between. They have a nice patio which I imagine is pretty nice during warm days. Only nuisance is parking, but I imagine most of their patrons live within stumbling distance anyways, so it's probably not a problem for most. I'll be back to try their food. read more

I love this bar. It's a little off the beaten path, but still a good time. I like it best because it's not as crowded, most of the time, as other "big" campus bars are. Go before 9pm M-F, or before 7pm Saturday or Sunday for all drinks half-price and most appetizers, and you will get the best price I've seen. Their beer selection really makes the prices worth while. Craft drafts on tap I haven't found elsewhere and a carry-out selection worth sampling. It's also nice for sporting events - we watched some of the OSU Basketball games this past season there and it wasn't overly crowded. The food isn't bad, it is bar food though. The homemade hummus is delicious! Monday is 35 cent wing night and a nice price for a good product as well. The downside is that it is still a campus bar. On Tuesday, when it's happy hour (half price) all night, Friday and Saturday it can get crowded and loud. Also for Crew games. Secure a table outside when it's nice and it's alright though. I've found that the bar staff is overall friendly, haven't had problems with rude staff like past Yelpers! read more

It took me 3 years to finally make my way over to 4th Street Bar and Grill and I am regretting not finding it sooner. The burgers are juicy and well priced. Plus, on Thursdays they are only $3!! I still can't believe they are this low. There are 2 bars and a nice patio with TVs throughout the bar. The happy hour is great and the daily specials will keep you coming back all week. This bar seriously sucks. I've been here about 10 times and my experiences only get worse. The actual bar top itself smells terrible and is overwhelming. The service is HORRIBLE. There have been several times I've had to seek out a server to ask for menus and they roll their eyes. Once you're at your table they almost never come back. This has happened every time. When you're sitting at the bar, they still don't interact with you. Don't take your order. Don't do anything. It's a joke. Look, I know it's a college bar. But come on! When you hear other servers complaining to each other about a bartender not doing their job, you know it's bad. Gave it two stars because the food is actually good. read more

Happy hour prices are great and is why I've been here. The specials vary daily. If you get there early enough it's not crowded. When I've been there the crowd has skewed to people in their 20s and 30s for Happy Hour but gets younger as the night goes on. The sriarcha hummus has some kick to it and is good for sharing. The 50/50 burger was cooked perfectly and the bun held up nicely. I'm looking forward to trying more of the food on a future visit. read more

MAZEN the MANAGER of 4th St Bar and Grill, is the MOST INCONSIDERATE PERSON I have ever encountered! Waited over 45 minutes for a to go order. Order was incorrect after waiting 45 minutes. They said 15 minutes and I instead asked for a refund. Manager said no to a refund...I mean seriously! I went to my car to leave...without the sand which or the refund! My hazard lights were on for almost an hour and my battery was near dead! My car did not start! I had to go back at that point! Manager came out with the sand which and I said well now I'm literally stuck here because my car battery is dead due to the inexcusable wait time! I was here on Monday night for the day-before-game American Outlaws party. We support the USA Men's National Team (soccer), and a world cup qualifier was on Tuesday. Our stadium section was sold out, so as you can imagine, the bar was packed! One thing to note if you're not from Ohio is that they have really odd state laws. This bar has an outdoor patio. If you're inside with a glass, once you decide to go outside, you have to transfer your drink to a plastic cup. Then, you have to finish your drink outside, and you can't come back inside with your cup. I found this very strange. There is a separate bar outside though, which is good. I only had the mac and cheese bites for food, and they were okay. It's just a bar, so I don't expect great food. Why did I give four stars? The CHEAPEST drinks I've EVER had!!! I drank long islands all night, and they were delicious. They were $3 for a lowball glass (incredible price). I told the waitress I didn't want anymore sippy cups, so I asked for a double (which means it'd be in a pint glass). Instead of the waitress giving me one pint glass, she gave me two because the bartender thought "double" meant two pints glasses!!! So I've been here a few times but your experience kind of depends on when you come and what you're looking for. At first I came at night which wasn't really my crowd, but the crowd honestly changes by the time of day and what day it is. I've been going lately for their happy hour specials. Half off apps/drinks from 3-7PM I believe it is. I got 3 Jack Honeys on the rocks and an order of chicken tenders for $14 (after a 2.50 tip). If you're a fan of hot sauces, the hot sauce here is pretty tasty and not too hot. Definitely will be returning! Definitely satisfied for the food and on a college budget. Some of the employees have no sense of hospitality or know what it means to provide quality service whatsoever. It was pathetic. We went here last night for Valentine's day and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a bar. They sat us near the door and I requested to sit more in the middle at an open table since it was so cold by the door. They refused to move us since the table could seat 6 and there were only 2 of us. The place was not busy whatsoever and there were multiple tables open. I am truthfully not exaggerating when I say I received the worst service I've ever experienced here. The manager was incredibly rude. I went with a group of friends, and we all ordered burgers--we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food, only for all of our orders to be incorrect, and my burger was burnt. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were respectfully telling him the problems with our orders, and he literally just stormed away from our table while we were in the middle of speaking to him. We asked our waitress to speak to him again, but he never showed up and ignored us. Horrendous service and not good food.
