We ate post graduation meal at the Waleus tonight we had a reservation for 12 and 11 of us showed up on this cool rainy night. We we famished since it was 8:30 p.m. The did accommodation us with a lower table since on member of the party was elderly and in a wheelchair, with the statement that "this is a bar more than a restaurant". I would thereby say they are not truly ADA accessible oe friendly as one would hope. But as I said we had made the reservation and figured we'd make the best of it. Some of our appetizers got lost and were so late they took them off the bill. Some of our appetizers arrived cool or cold upon arrival, but we were so hungry we ate them. Plus it wasn't like anyone came back to check on us, or ask how was everything or refills. It wasn't until I went back to the bar and asked for refills that we were even visited again. I know our server was also seeming to be the bartender too. I don't think we'll be back and never with any handicapped friends who can't sit at a high top table. I would say the hopes were high but the experience was almost a total dud. Those who got the chicken Alfredo liked it and it was hot. After spending over $220 for the 7 people I paid for with only 1 alcoholic beverage and mostly burgers and appetizers. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. read more

For a late Brunch on a weekend, the place was very noisey, due mostly to one large table of people who apparently had starting drinking heavily. We could not hear to talk to each other accross our table. This is more a bar than a restaurant, really. They also cancelled our Open Table reservation, even though we did arrive on time. The menu has unique but simple offerings which are sure to please, even the finicky among us. The house made tortilla chips are great, as our the buffalo ranch sliders. in the area of entrées, I would recommend the short rib and there's a mac & cheese dish, which is quite pleasant. Great visit and Joey is an awesome server! He is our absolute favorite as the service is always excellent with him. For dinner, we had the soft pretzels for an appetizer, and I had the Cheese burger and Chris had the Maple Burger + Sauteed Onions. Cool atmosphere and vibe but I always recommend dining in the front as the back can get really loud. Please note this is another business that will charge you a 3% processing fee if you use a credit card and not cash/debit. I would recommend. I've been here many many times over the years, always the same good feeling! My service was excellent! The lady behind the bar took great care of me, making sure I was happy with my food and that I needed anything else! I was t too hunger so I went for my Go-to, a nice crunchy salad with house made Croutons (yummmy!) and their SUPER yummy fires! (Their fries are SO good especially dipped in their house made ranch!!!) I kept hearing about this place, and hearing how good it was, but it didn't quite seem like my kind of place, and it wasn't quite in the neighborhoods frequent. Today, I figured what the heck, and stopped in when I was passing nearby. It's joined to a bar, and the inside has a very old-school bar feeling with brick walls, etc. I happened in on a Monday, which is burger day, and they talked me into trying one. And it was excellent. $5 burgers, all toppings a small extra charge. I ended up spending $7.50 for one with lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, chipotle mayo, and queso fresco. It came out and looked pretty small, but also pretty tall, and paired with a side it was plenty for lunch. Nice meaty burger, excellent bun, perfect toppings. Just a really good burger all around. At a really good price. Get two if you're super hungry, although by the time I ate it and my side of excellent Brussels sprouts topped with a ton of bacon, I was full. Service was excellent. Prices were good, but of course it was a super deal so I'm not sure about the rest of the menu. And the rest of the menu is very interesting, with essentially upscale bar food. The beer and cocktail menus also look interesting. The place is cozy and comfortable; the restaurant area in the front doesn't seem that big, but in the back it is bigger, and there's a bar, and there's a whole 'nother side of the building. There's a pool table, a stage, an interesting booth/dining nook, and more. Excellent fast friendly service all around. ****Horrible**** I went to have lunch on the patio and their patio umbrellas weren't secure. I was there for 5 minutes hadn't even ordered. The wind blew and the heavy wooden umbrella fell on me. The manager took the incident report, and comp'd the meal. The meal wasn't what I expected, I'd give it a 4 decent but didn't seem fresh. A day later I started having pain and went to the ER, I don't live locally so I had to call/email and they refused provide any insurance information, copy of incident report, or company information. Every phone regarding issue there were continuous promises of call backs, rude staff, no policy or knowledge what to do in these situations. Their (supposed) attorney called me and asked for copies of the bills once sent he then advised they don't want insurance involved nor do they want to rectify so file lawsuit. he Walrus steals from you by tacking on fees and charges they do not indicate on the bill, and do it in a way that you only realize the fees after they run your card, and that can make a huge difference in the final amount. We did order an appetizer and unfortunately we received it after our main entree. I don't think they put the order in. It was ok. Multiple people told me this was a must try place, so I was super excited to go for restaurant week. I tried their $30 deal and ordered the Tavern pretzels, short rib dinner and chocolate cake. Now to talk about the three dishes. The short rib was okay. The mashed potatoes tasted home made, the meat was tender and the veggies were a little undercooked. The flavor was a bit dull and the meal overall just tasted like something you could eat at someone's house. It wasn't bad, but just not great. The maple burger was similar except the burger was a little dry, skimpy on the bacon and the fries were really greasy. Typical bar food, but not something I'd crave when I'm not drinking. Went there on a quiet Sunday evening for a family members birthday. She loves their homemade veggie burger and that's what she wanted so we obliged. My hubby got the maple burger and I got the candied bacon grilled cheese. The fries are battered, so I don't think they were fresh cut, but they were still good. I wanted something light, and the grilled cheese definitely fit the bill. The candied bacon was delicious. We got the dip trio (queso, guac, pico de gallo) for an app. The queso was awesome and tasted like it was made with real cheddar cheese. (I will get the nachos next time, now that I know they make good queso!) My hubby liked the maple burger, but he agreed with me, and would want to try the nachos next time. A nice place to visit before a show at the Ohio Theatre. It was an easy walk from the garage and to the theater from the restaurant. On this visit we had a group of 8 which we were easily able to make a reservation for online. They have a nice cocktail menu and beer list. We did have some cocktails that were ordered off the menu and they arrived in short and tall glasses so make sure you specify when ordering. The atmosphere was fun. It was really loud so you had to yell across the 2 person table to hear one another. The service was okay we were seated instantly. But the server didn't tell us what wasn't available so when we went to order we had to choose again and wait 15 minute. Their chicken wings are awesome. We ordered three. Visited Walrus this evening with the family for dinner. It wasn't busy so we were immediately seated and presented with menus. They had several ciders available, so I went with a Downeast Triple Berry. We requested fried goat cheese as an appetizer,which was yummy. I then requested some broccoli cheddar soup, which was thin and runny, but still tasty. For dinner, I requested lobster mac n cheese. My wife requested a fried chicken sammich and fries, and my son requested the short rib dinner. My lobster mac n cheese was not very good. The lobster didn't taste great. Without the lobster, the mac n cheese was pretty good. My wife's chicken sandwich was delicious and the fries were good too. My son said his short rib dinner was a 4 out of 5. Server never returned after we got our food and it took over 30 minutes to get a check so we can leave. Had to chase someone down. Food was ok.
