He was also going to paint the frame when he brought the new screen. He said it should arrive by the end of the week. Over the last 6 weeks, I have called and left messages, most of which were ignored. When I finally talked to the salesman after 3 1/2 weeks, he said it would be in the next week and he'd call. When I hadn't heard from him a week after that date, he said he'd check on it and get "right back" to me. Again nothing and again he didn't return my message the next day. Luckily, I hadn't paid anything and have since found a screen online. I don't know if this is now typical of YB&D customer service. They converted my fireplace from wood-burning to gas several years ago and I was beyond pleased with their service. I'm disappointed and bewildered as to why the negative service now.

The in-store people, who focus almost entirely on sales, acted professionally. Maybe they should expand what is covered by in-store people because (repeating myself), corporate customer service is weak (Understaffed? No good tools? Untrained?). I had to get a finish carpenter to fix things several items broken by LL during the install e.g., inside and outside doors. Discounting the above issues, the flooring, once repaired and fully installed, is nice. Based on my painful(!) weeks long experience trying to get satisfaction before the installation was even complete, I have limited confidence in the "lifetime guarantee" that was promised. IF YOU LIKE TO AVOID HUGE HEADACHES................ If you want to use LL for your flooring, don't choose light-colored molding. The molding materials have quality issues where the light-colored molding will not have a consistent color. This will extend your install as no matter how many times they order the material, it won't match. The installers can't magically pull the correct materials out of thin air.

In a nutshell, we ordered a hand scraped, distressed bamboo and when we brought it home, it was a completely different color, like 4 shades too dark. We took a piece back to the store, compared it to what we ordered, just to be sure, and sure enough, way too dark! Darin arranged for the correct flooring to be delivered, picked up the wrong stuff, apologized 10 ways to Sunday, even though it was clearly just boxed wrong at the factory. Then cared enough to follow up after the Install, to make sure we were still happy! If you go to store 116 in Lansing Miichigan, make sure you ask for Darin!
