Best Manhattan in 50 Mile Radius!!! Excellent Vibe! Amazing Burger! Highly Regarded by Craft Beer Aficionados...

Fox N' Hare is an absolute treasure. One of the few places to provide really thought out menu, filled items made with care, consideration and love. The brews are no joke. They have a variety ranging from pilsners, to IPAs, to a stout which is barrel aged. I mean the imagination and care here is legitimate. Service is amazing, with care, speed, and consideration.

My favorite brewery so far in upper NY State. Super friendly and do t worry if you're not a craft brew officionado, they have something for everyone and I loved their Primative Pils. Had the cheese steak- fantastic. My wife had buffalo chicken nuggets nice and spicy but not I tolerable. The teriyaki Brussels sprouts were devine. Drink craft not crap! Worth the trip!

Fox n Hare has a special place in my heart. A craft beer brewery with a great team of Owners & Staff. A Decent food menu that ranges from Burgers to Stuffed Grape leaves. They also include other local ingredients from nearby counties and local suppliers. I can't tell you more because you really should just visit and enjoy it all. Fox N Hare brews their own beer on premise while featuring other local breweries offerings on their menu for you to enjoy. They also carry spirits for those wanting to enhance their palate experience. While you're there enjoy the artwork lining the wall and merch. highlighting the local areas.

We were packing up after a long ride and asked some folks in the next car over where to get a good burger. Without hesitation they said "Fox and the Hare". Alrighty then! The little downtown area is busy but we found parking easily. Walking into the Fox and Hare we were pleasantly greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. Like a number of other shops on the strip it's a converted older building with lots of charm. We ordered beers, (my IPA was solid right down the middle) and one of the fancy garlic parm fry selections to share. Typically I don't mess around with adulterated fries but it looked good. We both ordered the signature burger. Fries came first and were good. They didn't overdo it on sauce so they had plenty of flavor but still crisp and crunchy. Burger was great, loose patty using the cheese for structure. Unlike a lot of places who make a really thick patty resulting in a tall burger, they made a larger diameter patty so you get plenty of flavor per bite. I sometimes get bored with a burger 3/4 into it but this was good all the way, juicy and flavorful. Cold craft beers, tasty burgers and a neat location are hard to beat. I hesitated between 4 or 5 stars as it's kinda simple food but went with 5 for fulfilling its mission well.

A gem of a brewery! Can be found in both the NY Craft Beer app as well as the Orange County Craft Tour app (which is precisely how we found this place). Looking only to stamp our passport, we were encouraged to return because of the EXCELLENT food, the super friendly staff, and the good beers on tap. I always base my reviews on whether I would return. For this place? Absolutely!!!

We visited twice on our recent weekend. I was super impressed with the service and the food. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Loved the HUGE options of beer, liquor, and food. Hands down my favorite place to eat in town. Menu was fantastic! The different fry options were outstanding (chipotle with bacon was my favorite). Also the owner was very hands on, made us feel at home. Can't wait to go back! Thank you

I have been coming to Fox N Hare for several years., Never disappoints. The Craft Beer goes without saying. Today, the Strawberry Cider was interesting and my wife loved it. OK we both are very partial to the Buffalo Brussels sprout dish and get them every time. What is special is the atmosphere here. Wait Staff is always nice. However the owners / brewers are always walking around and helping out. It is not unusual for them to stop by the table and talk. Its make it more than just a local brewery but where the owners want you to feel like you are not just a customer, you are a part of the neighborhood crowd who share what they are personally proud to serve with you.

Great food and great service! We got the Brussel sprouts and the bbq fries (the beer cheese is gluten free!). I would recommend ordering the Brussels "flash fried" because they were very crispy when fried normally and we reordered (see the pics for the difference if you're considering!)

One of my toxic traits is that I judge books by their covers; I also do that with restaurants, and…read moreit burned me here. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon with one of my top-tier chums for a post-Port Jervis exploration/walk nip, deciding that out of all of the places we'd walked and/or driven by, this looked the most intriguing and certainly the most historic. One brief moment of validation occurred before we even entered - after walking through the downtown area and encountering pretty much a ghost town, we found a ton of locals in the outdoor patio/seating area here having a rollicking good time. Pretty decent endorsement, but it was quickly downhill from there. As soon as you walk in, you can tell that the majority of ye olde charm has been replaced; for instance, there's some wood paneling over the bar area that's relatively new - I was expecting something that looked pretty historic inside but in my opinion that wasn't the case. I'm not sure how much of a negative that necessarily is, but if you're walking into an establishment like this expecting to be transported to the 1890s, you're going to be disappointed. There's definitely some history, but it's not going to conjure up handlebar mustaches and victrolas. I ordered the Port Old-Fashioned off the cocktail menu; I was a little leery because it cited mulled oranges, but beyond that the description was dictionary definition. The drink itself was not. As you can see from the accompanying picture, the cocktail was practically red; I can't say for sure because I didn't witness the preparation, but it certainly looked and tasted as if it had Fireball in it rather than straight-up Bourbon. Really strange, and made it morph into a kegger drink for me. And the mulled oranges were definitely a mistake; I knew what I was getting into in that regard, so that part of the experience is certainly on me, but there's a reason this drink is supposed to have an orange peel essentially as a garnish and not a full-on part of the beverage. Really odd and I hate to say it, but probably the worst Old-Fashioned I've ever had. We had a young female bartender who was very nice/hospitable, which is the only reason this isn't a dumpster fire one-star review. She was the only one behind the bar, which was decently packed, and held her own. Our visit was relatively brief - we stopped for just the one drink before heading home across the border - but had no issues service-wise. We were able to order promptly, and received our beverages shortly thereafter. Unfortunately as mentioned, the actual drink was pretty bad, and I'd strongly recommend additional training in that capacity. Some of the intangibles are there, so I think this could be rectified. The Port Jervis residents clearly like this place a lot, so I have to assume they're staying away from the cocktail I had and enjoying either other drinks or the food (which neither of us sampled). And the price point is reasonable as well - I think my drink was $12 - but you ARE getting what you pay for. My recommendation? Head over to Jersey and drive the 29 minutes to the Walpack Inn, which is literally never on the way to anything except in this instance, and has much better menu options and legit rustic ambience.

The staff and patrons looked at each other joking and laughing but NOBODY was instructing the patrons as to what to do. We waited a few minutes but finally left as the BLAT,BLAT,BLAT of the alarm was excruciating to the slight headache I had entered the dining area with. Fire trucks showed up but it was established to be a false alarm. Something they should have let the patrons know right away. I felt we should have been partially compt. for the meal since we only finished half of it before we left. I don't think I will go back as I felt the whole situation was handled poorly. They need better safety protocols for such situations. Laughing and joking while patrons are confused as to what to do is a serious violation of ethics to say the least. Get it together erie hotel! You have some work to do.

The taproom inside feels cozy, and the two young women working were super sweet about getting us samples and drinks. Get the Endless Summer! It's a light, refreshing beer with the perfect hints of cucumber and watermelon and it is absolute heaven on a hot day. The lime lager was also excellent. We took our drinks and went out to the patio area under the tent where they were doing the pizza vending. There was a nice vibe in the air: a mix of folks and ages, but everyone just chilling and having a fun time. Bugs weren't too bad! The outdoor pizza set up is John's of Arthur Ave, which we have always had as to-go, but wow, they are bringing their A-game here with the outdoor ovens! The pizzas are INSANELY GOOD! Like, Razza-style impressive. We were seriously blown away because it's nothing like what we've had in the past from there. We ordered their white pie with ricotta and the "Bronx Bomber." DAMN. Perfect char and chew on the dough, and while we know that the ricotta on the first pie wasn't homemade, it practically tasted it. The BB pizza was outrageously delicious as well: loved the meat and banana peppers with the hot honey, which we're normally not a fan of, but it was perfect here. Cannot say enough good things about the pizza! Overall, a wonderful visit despite a heated conversation about world events at our table! Four very happy stars and we hope to have just as good of a visit next time, which will hopefully be soon.
