Cantina La Antigua - we set up the table the way you like

I do not recommend this place at all. We messaged her two weeks ago about our complains and no…read moreresponse which is very unprofessional. She hasn't taken any accountability or send any refund or even apologize. The staff were very rude when we would ask for help they acted like they didn't know a wedding was going to happen. I don't recommend this place at all you're better taking your business somewhere else. So you don't get screw over like my husband & I. Whenever I had any questions or wanted to make arrangements for payments Karen wouldn't reply to me but only to my husband which was really weird considering everything was in my name. She shouldn't judge anyone by their age just because of the event they are doing. While having the wedding reception I was told that we would get the extra food. When my husband ask about it the guy said there was a bit of beans left but he didn't give it to us even after we were told we would get the extra food we have pictures and there was more then just beans left over. My husband and I including bridesmaids and groomsmen didn't eat because they were helping us out with everything else going on. They just took it and probably used it for their restaurant next door. The venue was very hot I complained to the guy that was supposed to be helping us. He simply ignored me which cause my guest to leave. I was told "it was going to be cold so bring a sweater " Karen said, When we arrive it was at 74. Whenever we tried to reach out to her we couldn't get in contact with her. She mention that she would be around if needed. Keep in mind if you need an extra table they will charge you $250 plus $35 per person. We were told that sodas and water were included but our guest only received 1 litter of soda per table after that they had to buy it at the bar. If we known we would have gotten it our selfs. As well she mention security was part of the price even though we didn't need it, if she says that its included it should be there. I think we should get money back for the food and for a services that wasn't there. This place is overprices not worth your money at all. Im not type to complain but I had to with this one. I hope we get some type of money back but knowing how they are we won't get anything. Below you will see how much food there was left. I would have put the food away myself If I knew this was going to happen even though I shouldn't be doing their job on my special day. My guest mention to please never have an event here due to how uncomfortable they felt with rude staff . We ended our wedding early manly due to the rude staff and them not accommodating us.

From friends, I'd heard about this venue in Elgin before but never had a chance to visit until I…read moreattended a wedding here recently. Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. A beautiful facility with friendly service and lots of space to move around make this a great gathering spot.

I never even knew this was a possibility but stumbled upon it, thanks to the power of Google, when I was looking for a venue that would accommodate 50-ish people for my son's baptism reception lunch. This place definitely won't break the bank by any stretch of the imagination. The only downside is that it's not much to look at. The hall is nice and airy, 2 walls of windows let ample light stream in, and a wall of floor to ceiling mirrors reflect the light. The floors are wood, and the walls are cream, which provide a nice neutral palette for decorating without worrying about clashing. There's a tiny little kitchen in the back corner, complete with microwave and a full-sized refrigerator. Obviously they don't cater or anything, which is both a plus and a minus. They don't even have a coffee maker on hand, so be prepared to bring your own. What they do supply, or at least claim to, are 6-8 tables and 40-50 chairs. What we found when we arrived were 3 tables and about 20 chairs. We never did locate the rest of the tables and chairs, but we made due with what we had. This place isn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're looking for a nice facility to hold a lunch or a get-together that isn't in your home, Algonquin's Historic Village Hall is a great option. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next party.
