The owner had my guests cleaning up the venue starting at 7:30 even though we didn't need to be out until 10:30. I understand asking guests to clean plates but my photos from the end of the night didn't have any of the decor because it was put away before my wedding was over. Truthfully it made me feel rushed to end my wedding which was very disappointing. The bartending service we hired also complained about being rushed and having their services disrupted by the owner. Again, a gorgeous venue but maybe not the place if you want a traditional wedding reception.

One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. I never even knew this was a possibility but stumbled upon it, thanks to the power of Google, when I was looking for a venue that would accommodate 50-ish people for my son's baptism reception lunch. This place definitely won't break the bank by any stretch of the imagination. The only downside is that it's not much to look at. The hall is nice and airy, 2 walls of windows let ample light stream in, and a wall of floor to ceiling mirrors reflect the light. The floors are wood, and the walls are cream, which provide a nice neutral palette for decorating without worrying about clashing. There's a tiny little kitchen in the back corner, complete with microwave and a full-sized refrigerator. Obviously they don't cater or anything, which is both a plus and a minus. They don't even have a coffee maker on hand, so be prepared to bring your own. What they do supply, or at least claim to, are 6-8 tables and 40-50 chairs. What we found when we arrived were 3 tables and about 20 chairs. We never did locate the rest of the tables and chairs, but we made due with what we had. This place isn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're looking for a nice facility to hold a lunch or a get-together that isn't in your home, Algonquin's Historic Village Hall is a great option. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next party.
