Very very nice bar, a little compact I'd recommend reserving a table. I want to say thank you to the door guy. I wasn't completely dressed up. I just needed a drink, when I saw the dress code I was nervous. he was pleasant and understanding, I felt very comfortable. I had a shot of Don Julio and a cactus bloom! Of course the Don Julio was Don Julio, that cactus bloom... YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY tasted so fresh Anjelica and lily were also great! Thank you all for a great experience

We came in during happy hour and tried the blackberry sunset & foxtail Paloma signature cocktails. They were very good! Service was great. It's a very fancy lounge and just a great place to hang out, unwind, and enjoy a night with an intimate group or date!

All employees were welcoming. The host that sat us very respectful. It was pretty busy and we sat on 1 couch, 3 of us. Friend sat and was poked with a metal pick from a drink that some rude customer had let behind. Brought it up to the hostess and he apologized proudly and offered some snacks as an apology as well. Dark chocolate covered pretzels and popcorn, delicious ! Drinks were visibly appealing and were good. When another area opened up, hostess came and asked if we wanted to move since it was roomier for us. We did. Not to loud, but somewhat. Cute place to have a drink and not deal with extreme loud music.

This cozy cocktail lounge is classy and comfortable. It has the tropical Miami vibe going. Very sexy. They serve many highly specialized drinks with a flair. As we watched a drink was prepared, placed under glass and smoke filtered in. So cool to watch. We got in just shortly after opening so we're able to catch a couple of seats at the bar and happy hour prices. Angel was our friendly and informative mixologist and Morgan Was delivering cocktails and seeing to everyone's overall well being. My companion was thirsty, Morgan brought us a lovely decanter of still water. Very nice touch. I ordered the Blackberry Sunset, Ketel One Vodka, Opertiva Risato, lemon, baby dill & blackberries. My companion ordered the El Dorado, Fon Julio Tequila, vanilla liqueur, lemon juice & honey. This is a romantic and comfortable place to lounge and have a cocktail. Great for date night!

Perfect for a group chat and drinks on a weekday when not too busy. Drinks are yummy and loved the meat and cheese board although I did not like their variation of pepper jack cheese.

This place was pretty cool. Came here on a Saturday evening. It was pretty early for "going out". I'm old, so it was a good time for me. It actually worked out perfect because the place wasn't busy at all. So we got a great seat and as it got busier through the night, we had the perfect people watching seats. It is decorated super cute. Random looking couches and chairs arranged in sections and set up to be perfect for conversations with friends. Reminded me a little of the set up on "Friends" in the coffee shop. We had a waitress that was great. She kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything else. I noticed as the place got busy, she definitely got busy and it was a little harder to get her attention. But I didn't feel abandoned. The place has some really cool drinks. My husband ordered an Old Fashion and they brought it to him in a glass enclosure that they had blown a Smokey flavor into. I'm sure there is a fancy name for what they did, but I have no clue. I got a drink that was fabulous!! It tasted like a milkshake. Very dangerous!! I could drink many of these, back to back. It was so good!! We left when it started to get busy. It was a fun night and I'd definitely do it again.

Ana is THE BEST bartender in Bakersfield. Period. Come on a Tuesday or Saturday just to chat with her. She's so Knowledgeable and passionate about the work that she does. She's so easy to talk to and makes visiting the Foxtail such a fun experience. Had such a cool time chilling with her. If I'm ever back in Bakersfield going to be stopping by here again just to hang out with her. She makes suuuuper good drinks!

The vibe at this place is not one you find in Bakersfield often. This is a really nice lounge. The drinks are creative, fun, and handcrafted. This was the last stop of the night for my friends and self. Luckily there was not a wait, and we were able to walk right in. First impression is that it's pretty small inside, but that's what I also really enjoyed. It wasn't over crowded. I really enjoyed my time here, and would like to come back and try a few more things off the menu. The drinks are priced above average for Bakersfield, but they are also pretty good. So if you want a nice place to have a great drink try this place out.

Foxtail Lounge is in all probability the hippest watering hole in all of Kern County bar none. The interior has a swanky, subtropical lushness of a cool, swinging lounge somewhere in an art deco hotel along Miami Beach.  This is NOT a place for singles since there are no high stools at the bar. There are only sofas placed throughout the large room. Bring your crew so you can claim the sofa or sofas. Décor is eclectic. Oriental rugs, but mostly trendy mid 20th century accoutrements.   Although there may be beer (pretty pedestrian) & wine, the featured menu is all about COCKTAILS. Large use of potions, infusions, fruit juices, even more savory vegetal essences.  Liquors used are diverse: Mezcal, Tequila, Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey. This chic spot should also offer premium Japanese Whiskeys such as Yamazaki, Tenjaku, Kikori, Nikka, etc. on the rocks for  sophisticated, gourmet cachet.  Bubble of Rosa: Use of Molecular Gastronomy.   The waitress injects a huge bubble encasing grey white smoke into the rubid cocktail which bursts open releasing the contents onto the air when you take the first sip. It's a dramatic cocktail for the extroverted.  Sensations of sweet, slight acidic sour of Pamplemousse/grapefruit, Maraschino (mah rah skee noh), lime.  Touch of savory such as Jalapeño, red bell pepper herbal earthiness, toasted sesame seed nuttiness. The flavours are rich enough to make Bubble of Rosa a sipping libation appropriate for languid, elegant lounging.  Our party of 3 came on a Wednesday at 7pm so we had the place all to ourselves. This may be a perfect after work gathering place to let off steam with fellow work mates. No accompanying bar foods offered at this time which would be ideal to cater to the after work crowd.  Our waitress was accomodating, quietly welcoming, perfect for the class act space.  Piped music was pleasant, contemporary, urban sounds like Benny, Doja Cat.  However, Fridays & Saturdays must be jamming so a RESERVATION is "de rigueur". As our waitress said with a sad face that they had to turn away quite a few who didn't reserve.  4+ stars

On Saturday I made my first visit to Foxtail. It was rather quiet and there was 2 employees. We were given great service and the drinks were delicious. I wish they also had a wine menu. I would've definitely ordered a bottle and stayed longer. The craft drinks is a nice touch that many small bars have. Unfortunately, they are expensive and take time. It was perfect for a one drink stop. The ambiance is definitely my jam. It was beautiful and definitely a spot for a date night.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon for a couple of drinks to cap the weekend off with. Luckily we went right at opening so there wasn't a wait. They have a nice signature cocktail list consisting of all liquor types, but unfortunately they only have one whiskey option. We had Tha Florida, Rose Clouds, The Lost Lady, and The High Tide. The drinks of course take a little bit longer, because they are handcrafted. Admittedly, the service was slow still. The atmosphere is upscale for Bakersfield, which is great. I read some comments about the music selection, but frankly the music is my 2000s jam. Think Now! That's What I Call Music. Going back this Saturday night!

Nobody plans to spend an evening in Bakersfield. You pass through it on the way to somewhere else…read more-- Mammoth, the Sequoias, the long flat grind up the 99 to Sacramento -- and if you stop at all, it's for gas or a bathroom or because your BMW's brakes have decided, somewhere around the Grapevine, that they'd rather not. Thank you, Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, for the near-death experience and, inadvertently, for one of the best nights out I've had in years. Stranded and waiting on repairs, we checked into The Padre, the only hotel in Bakersfield that feels like someone with a subscription to Dwell had a hand in it, and set out walking through a downtown that time has treated with more kindness than reputation suggests. There's a Woolworth's luncheonette still hanging on. There are old brick facades and wide sidewalks and the particular quiet of a Central Valley evening when the heat finally breaks. And then, on 18th Street, there is Tiki-Ko, and suddenly you are no longer in Bakersfield at all. You are, instead, inside someone's magnificent obsession. Tiki-Ko is a proper tiki bar -- not a tiki-themed cocktail lounge, not a place that bought some bamboo at a craft store and called it atmosphere, but a genuine, committed, floor-to-ceiling shrine to mid-century Polynesian fantasy. The carvings are real. The lighting is correct -- which is to say, barely there. The mugs are serious. There are pufferfish lamps and carved totems and the whole glorious taxonomy of tiki ephemera, accented here and there with a skate-culture edge that keeps it from feeling like a museum. It's reverent without being precious. The drinks are the real thing. Mai Tais built with actual orgeat. Zombies that earn the name. The bartenders make them with the kind of care and enthusiasm that tells you this isn't a gig -- it's a calling. They want you to be here. They want to talk about rum. They want you to try the Painkiller. In a city that most Angelenos regard as a punch line, somebody built a world-class cocktail bar and filled it with joy, and the regulars clearly know it. You will not plan a trip to Bakersfield. But if you find yourself there -- by mechanical failure, by accident, by the peculiar mercy of a bad brake job -- walk downtown. Find the tiki bar. Order a second round. Stay longer than you intended. Bakersfield has been underestimated, and Tiki-Ko is the proof.

Little hidden gems. Lighting is dark with bits color and neon popping through. The Bar Top curves around the bar- there are two booths that seat 5-6 and two short tables next to them- one seats 4- the other will comfortably seat two. There are a few bench style seating areas at the front with some short coffee tables. Think- skater tiki bar. The drinks were good- small menu if you're not sure what you want or are new to tiki. Both sides of the menu are the same menu. There are some nice mocktail options as well- you don't see that often. The service for me is mixed- it wasn't busy- steady but not busy- 1/4 full. I ordered two drinks to start for our table- (no cocktail servers here/not unusual for a small Tiki bar) I asked for a soda water- the bartender looked at me without a word- popped open a can of soda water and walked away. When he walked back by, I asked for a glass of ice- he said nothing and I got an eye-roll huff. I almost left. I don't think providing a glass with ice to pour your canned room temp soda water in, is too wacky an idea to be perturbed by the request. The female who took the order was friendly, smiled and was professional. We got a third cocktail- the Mai Tai. The grumpy bartender was friendlier this time. So, that helped. Maybe he felt overwhelmed and I threw off his groove by asking for water- then a glass... either way- being annoyed wasn't cool. The music.... Wasn't Tiki- it threw off the "Tiki Vibe" and made it feel typical small local bar that serves only Tiki drinks with some Tiki decor. It didn't take you to the land of Tiki- disappointed. Drinks were good.

Last year I made a large reservation for about 10 ladies to celebrate someone and on the way to the restaurant they called to confirm the reservation (about 30 minutes before), but I did not hear my phone. When I arrived, a distraught friend told me that they did not have our reservation so I asked what the issue was. The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal. Hoping they recieve the help they need as I love to see my community thrive.

The food was fantastic. On a Friday and Saturday night, they offer a prime rib special. The plate itself ran about $52. But it was well worth it. The prime rib absolutely melted in your mouth. Upon doing so, we went downstairs the next day and asked if there was a deal if we could stay 3-4 days, and sure enough there was!!!! It's always great to see what happens once you ask! Hee. We got a larger room with a corner room location, I forgot the room number, but the restroom was larger and had a separate wall between the toilet and shower area, so if someone was in the shower, someone else could use the toilet and not be seen. This longer hotel room also had a chaise lounge chair and a better view of their downtown area, granted a lot of the places have closed. Overall, I honestly loved our stay here! It reminded me of a county version of The Fairmont SF! They constantly played new aged country music in the lobby! Then on Fridays and Saturdays there was a live band or singer in the bar area! I love how they had a community aspect to the hotel with some local live entertainment!!! My fiancé also loved watching The Knicks play on the bar tv with other people at the bar! Hee. Oh and they had an adorable coffee shop that made Ready To Order items downstairs too! See my review at Farmacy Cafe, but too freaking too! Country SHREK! Hee We will definitely be back again!!!!!
