Always a fun time. Old school hang out spot. A no fancy frills local, just what the Dr ordered Dive Bar experience. Been around for a while, always slinging the great drinks and a good place to meet up with your friends to wash away the day. Bartenders are friendly, and they even have karaoke nights if you choose to partake and sing a few songs. Thanks Vis for being an Oasis from the daily grind. read more

Was there on Monday this past week and walked in with a group well over 21, we all gave our ID and were so excited to experience Vis as we've all heard great things about it. The bartender then hands our ID back one by one and says "You passed" to 3 of us, and the last ID (who is well over 21 and is a REAL ID) she hands back and says "Yours didn't" as if she was trying to embarrass my friends. As we were all in shock being it is a real ID we all start to laugh, she then threatens to confiscate the ID and call the cops and saying there isn't a bear on the ID (there is INFACT a bear) , we told her to call the cops being it is a real authentic ID. The bartender was so rude and disrespectful and clearly doesn't know how to do her job correctly. Poor customer service truly. sad to see someone treat a younger group as certain way. read more

I came from out of town for Xmas to visit my dad, uncle, and grandma. I decided to go out to this nearby bar for a few drinks and not too long after I got there. The bar tender accused me of seeing a vape (not even vaping). I can't physically do this because I have a condition. When I laughed and told her this she quickly told me I had to leave because she didn't like the way I responded, and had a local bar guy who said he was the bouncer kick me out. I've never faced this kind of weird discrimination in my life. I'm thinking it's just because maybe I wasn't local , but I'll never really know. I only had a few drinks, it would have easier to say I was too drunk or something but I wasn't. They just wanted to find a reason to kick me out obviously. Don't come here unless you know people or the staff I guess or else you'll get treated like you're not even human. I'm so disturbed by this experience. It was wrong in so many ways. This place literally doesn't deserve business from anyone if they think they can just treat a person like that. Just another bar crew abusing power and discriminating whoever they want for whatever reason they want. read more

Great old country bar. One pool table and a few raunchy bar top video games. Outdoor patio available through the backdoor. It's a good ole boys kind of place and if you go twice everyone will know you. Drinks are nice and strong. The place can get busy anytime after 3. It's a mix of oil field workers and farm boys. You can't consider yourself a Rosedalian if you haven't been here or the Lone Oak. read more

Went in late to have a cocktail about a month ago was going to dispute charges on my credit card but decided this would be better. Showed up around 11-1130 two other people at the bar. Arlo the bartender was serving. We asked for two Long islands and they were horrible couldn't even drink them. We complained but were told oh well we're closing anyways. We barely drank them and were charged $17. No offer of a new cocktail no refund no nothing just oh well you should go. Don't worry Arlo we won't be back. You're working a cocktail bar not the Ritz Carlton so get over yourself!!! Bad service bad attitude bad bartending skills no thank you!!! read more

This is quickly becoming my new favorite place! It's a low key chill bar where you can have good strong drinks for a reasonable price and listen to the jukebox or sing karaoke on certain nights. The crowd is always friendly and the bartenders know how to handle business. I usually go in the evenings for after dinner drinks or an end of the night stop. Arlo is great! He knows how to make a drink, keeps the bar clean and gives good customer service. I even had an issue once with my debit card and the Bartender Stacey as well as the owner/manager of the joint went out of their way to help me get it resolved. The owner/manager called me himself to apologize for the error and ensure I got my money back. I thought that was really classy. You can tell everyone that works there really enjoys their job and takes pride in it which in turn makes this a fun safe local hidden gem. If your looking for an easy going bar to hang out at give Vi's a try, you won't regret it. read more

Great little dive bar. They have darts, pool, jukebox and outdoor patio. The bartender was great and I didn't feel like I was overpaying for drinks like a lot of other places in Bakersfield. It's definitely off the beaten path but a great alternative for late night drinking in the northwest without having to hit up Bro-J's (RJ's). We met a really cool old drunk guy who had great fishing stories. Needless to say I bought this man a beer (although he was probably cut off hours earlier). Crowd here varied greatly from good ole' boys to the younger professional crowd. I'm definitely a fan and will be back. read more

Stacy was the bartender that helped make my first visit good enough to convince me to return again in the future.She made great drinks and kept the RIF RAF out when they did show up Has AMI music box and California lottery keno hot spot, pool table,TV and the patrons were very friendly to this stranger.Do not know about food as I got there late and just ate. read more

Dive-y in a good way. Can be really dead on a weekday, and a little douche-y on weekends- but, I have never heard karaoke here, and for me, that is reason enough to go to a place ;) Cheap drink prices and friendly bartenders. Definitely a "local- yokel" type place, and the patrons were a bit weird, but hey- it's Bakersfield, right? read more

Nobody plans to spend an evening in Bakersfield. You pass through it on the way to somewhere else…read more-- Mammoth, the Sequoias, the long flat grind up the 99 to Sacramento -- and if you stop at all, it's for gas or a bathroom or because your BMW's brakes have decided, somewhere around the Grapevine, that they'd rather not. Thank you, Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, for the near-death experience and, inadvertently, for one of the best nights out I've had in years. Stranded and waiting on repairs, we checked into The Padre, the only hotel in Bakersfield that feels like someone with a subscription to Dwell had a hand in it, and set out walking through a downtown that time has treated with more kindness than reputation suggests. There's a Woolworth's luncheonette still hanging on. There are old brick facades and wide sidewalks and the particular quiet of a Central Valley evening when the heat finally breaks. And then, on 18th Street, there is Tiki-Ko, and suddenly you are no longer in Bakersfield at all. You are, instead, inside someone's magnificent obsession. Tiki-Ko is a proper tiki bar -- not a tiki-themed cocktail lounge, not a place that bought some bamboo at a craft store and called it atmosphere, but a genuine, committed, floor-to-ceiling shrine to mid-century Polynesian fantasy. The carvings are real. The lighting is correct -- which is to say, barely there. The mugs are serious. There are pufferfish lamps and carved totems and the whole glorious taxonomy of tiki ephemera, accented here and there with a skate-culture edge that keeps it from feeling like a museum. It's reverent without being precious. The drinks are the real thing. Mai Tais built with actual orgeat. Zombies that earn the name. The bartenders make them with the kind of care and enthusiasm that tells you this isn't a gig -- it's a calling. They want you to be here. They want to talk about rum. They want you to try the Painkiller. In a city that most Angelenos regard as a punch line, somebody built a world-class cocktail bar and filled it with joy, and the regulars clearly know it. I ordered two drinks to start for our table- (no cocktail servers here/not unusual for a small Tiki bar) I asked for a soda water- the bartender looked at me without a word- popped open a can of soda water and walked away. When he walked back by, I asked for a glass of ice- he said nothing and I got an eye-roll huff. I almost left. I don't think providing a glass with ice to pour your canned room temp soda water in, is too wacky an idea to be perturbed by the request. The female who took the order was friendly, smiled and was professional. We got a third cocktail- the Mai Tai. The grumpy bartender was friendlier this time. So, that helped. Maybe he felt overwhelmed and I threw off his groove by asking for water- then a glass... either way- being annoyed wasn't cool. The music.... I found myself searching for both the carrot and ginger flavors, neither of which really stood out. The beet and goat cheese salad was fine, but it's hard to get too excited about a salad. Overall, the food felt subpar compared to what I've come to expect from Moo Creamery. The restaurant itself was also surprisingly loud, making conversation difficult and adding to the overall frustration. It was hard to get our waitress's attention throughout the meal, and service felt disjointed. The most disappointing moment came when we noticed my son's chicken strips and fries sitting on the counter for 13 minutes before they were finally brought to our table. By then, it was difficult not to question whether the food was still as fresh and hot as it should have been. We came in excited to experience the new location, but between the noisy atmosphere, inattentive service, and food that didn't live up to Moo Creamery's usual standards, we left feeling disappointed. Sadly, I probably won't be returning. It's hard to justify giving it another try when there are so many other restaurants in town that consistently deliver quality food, service, and a better overall dining experience.

The worker who fixed the speakers encouraged us to speak with the front desk, so we could get some time back for the maintenance. We were assured that we would get some time added, but that did not happen. We even double checked with the front before the original time expired. Afterwards, we waited for a while to see if it could still be resolved. My friend ended up speaking with the manager who explained to us that there were some technical issues on their end when they tried to add some time. I appreciate that the manager was transparent and asked us how she can improve our experience. While we could not be refunded, we received a gift card equal to the amount that we paid for our karaoke session. I'm hoping to come back to the BLVD for a better karaoke experience next time.

Let's start with the bartender Nate not returning credit cards and running up the bills. Moving along to actually coving up a felony crime. The OWNER, bartetender and staff refused to aid in handing over video evidence of an assault. A report to the Sheriff's included that there was video evidence, but the owner wasn't available to assist in the video recovery and the footage was deleted. Deliberately. Let's not play.
