Oh where do I begin?!! I would double the stars if I could. I just happened upon this cute little shop. I had been searching for a place I could get a decent perm, a service not too many places know or do any more. I thought I'd just them try-out with a haircut, but once in I knew I was overdue for a perm. So, I decided to GO FOR IT! I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED in the least. Linda, the owner, did such an AWESOME job. I haven't felt this good about my hair in a very long, long time. It is super easy to take care of & looks good whether I brush it or not (lol...when in a rush, I have been guilty of doing or not doing ;-D). ALSO, it has been almost 2 months since getting my perm & cut and IT STILL LOOKS GOOD! :-D Not only is Linda extremely talented, has good instincts regarding bone structure, but read my mind as to how I like my hair. I really didn't tell her much yet, when I did, she listened & followed through. She took extra precaution before starting by putting a conditioning protectant, so my hair wouldn't be dry or brittle from the perm, which I was VERY IMPRESSED with & APPRECIATED. In the past, I have wasted not only my time & my hard earned cash, but had my (high) expectations squashed at places where the operator either didn't listen or insisted they knew best. Often I would leave looking rather scalped & male rather than feminine & female, or have had a perm drop within two weeks of getting it. Linda is well experienced cosmetologist since she was 15 yrs old when she began in her Mother's salon. She offers a full service salon for the whole family. Her services include: Nails, Hair, Waxing, Threading, Eyebrow MicrobladingI It's difficult to find a place you know you can rely on to do consistently good work. When I first moved out here from San Jose I was bouncing around different nail places in the pleasanton/dublin area. I'm super picky on how I like my nails done (who isnt?)I've been going to Foxy Nails off and on for a few years now. Helen is great! she takes her time and does a great job and is super nice The pedi's are not bad either. I don't get my nails done all the time but when I do this is where I go. Foxy Nails is now under new ownership - Helen still works there and wasn't there this time around so Linda the new owner ( i think was her name) did my nails. She was amazing! Being from San Jose I'm used to the fast paced- in and out with perfect nails! Linda is fast and right on point. I walked out completely satisfied and with a 20% off coupon for my next visit which is good on any service -haircut, color, hi-light, nails, pedi, mani or waxing. I went to this place because of the good reviews thru the internet. My first and second pedicure was great, but when the new lady came (I guess she's the owners sister) my pedicure is not that good anymore, eventhough she always give me a good foot massage it's much better to get a great pedicure and good foot massage at the same time. I highly recommend Foxy Hair and Nails, but only if you're down to earth and have time, because if you don't have time and patience to wait your turn you will be disappointed. The reason I say this is because Linda is doing her very best to take care of so many customers and she usually only has one assistant, so if you go there and you have to wait, don't cop an attitude with her, she's doing the best she can. She does a fantastic job on my haircuts and she's always gentle, friendly and warm in her manner. She is a hard working woman and that should be respected. She tries hard to please everyone and make time, but there isn't always enough time for all of the business. But, there are other options in the area if you're impatient. You may pay more, but you won't get a better haircut, or manicure, or pedicure. She also does waxing and that takes time. I have a special place in my heart for this business. It's special to me. Out dog-sitting in Pleasanton, I was unable to go to my usual spot in SF. I found this place on the internet with some good reviews, so I thought I would try it out. Maybe I am a spoiled city girl (not likely ;-) ), but this place seemed like a dump. The nail color selection was sparse and the salon seemed a little dingy. The manicure I received had a ton of bubbles and polish all over my cuticles. I think I could have done a better job! But, the ladies there were very nice and the massage was pretty good. Let's use the numbering system... 1) I will NEVER go back again 2) I have never seen a manicurist with more vigor and determination to file every little bit of nail I had off so completely...pretty sure I could have bitten them off with more precision and less pain (oh yeah, that includes the toes, good lord) 3) I had two people tending to me and it still took TWO HOURS for a mani/pedi 4) I also received a burn from the hot stones and towels that were used and if they gave me a massage it was all of 45 seconds. They take so long they need to cut corners where they can. 5) I, like the other 200 plus mothers in Pleasanton, made (the mistake) of purchasing the deal on Screaming Deals. The deal was $17 for a $50 value that was NOT honored. I was overcharged by $30 PLUS the $14 tip I gave. 6) All I am saying is that if you go to Foxy Nails BEWARE and you have been warned. I don't understand all the negative feedback! This place is great quick and cheap! Service was awesome and great conversation. Linda was really nice and she does a damn good pedi. Since this place is literally in my jobs backyard I figured Id kill an hour before my shift. I told her I had to at work and she had me in and out in a short time. I had to wait like 10 mins but it was no biggie the cafe next door make a great smoothie. It's nice to find a decently priced shop in Pleasanton. I can't believe these negative reviews!! Okay, the place is dumpy (though well stocked with trashy magazines) and smells like fake nails, but the pedicures are the BEST I've ever gotten. I appreciate the time taken with cleaning, buffing, shaping and best of all MASSAGING. The look lasted a long time too. I will admit that the manicures do seem like a waste of money and time, since the paint starts chipping right away, but I wasn't sure if it was my lifestyle that made the polish chip quickly, or the actual application. (I've only had 2 there, prefer the pedicure) Also, it's not expensive!! Especially compared to San Francisco prices that the other reviewers have surely experienced with their big city manicures. I'm confused! I've had manicures and pedicures there, too...and at fancy places where the prices are truly high, and I know i'm just paying for the ambiance. Yeah, whats with these negative reviews? Did they talk to the owner? Linda is as sweet as they are. Foxy Nails is located behind the Burger King in a strip mall. Plenty of parking and a few other stores nearby if you have to wait a few minutes or grab a bit to eat, as they seem to be getting busier. The salon is clean, painted pale green and everyone seems relaxed. They have all the essentials, pedi-baths, nail stations, hair stations. they never push any products on me, but sometimes think I may need a little help there. I've been going to Foxy for a haircut and concealing the gray for about 6 months. I have always gotten a good haircut and the color was great. Even the highlights I tried out once worked pretty good. The owner, Linda is very willing to satisfy your needs and talk to you. I can see that she is working hard to get my business. I can't believe how good the prices are. I think she is too cheap! I also tried out the manicure and pedicure once. They didn't put any color on, duh! But my toes and fingers looked more professional. Not sure how much that will add to my personal business look. This was my first time at Foxy Nail (this is the name as shown on their business card). Based on reviews on yahoo (nearly 5 stars based on 16 reviews), it seemed like a decent place for a manicure/pedicure. Mind you, I used to live/work in San Francisco and thus, was exposed and have experienced great nail salons but I understand that I should not expect the same kind of "big town" service in a small city such as Pleasanton. Nonetheless, my complaint is that the manicurists, Lilly and Hellen took too long to do the job - longer than I have ever experienced with a manicure/pedicure! I was at the nail salon for an hour and a half (including drying time)! Lilly seemed to take too much time on the pedicure which did not seem to make a difference as her work was mediocre anyway. Hellen knows English a bit more than the other manicurists and she was nice too. I thought she was doing a good job on my manicure at the time because it seemed as if she was taking good care of me. However, when I looked at my nails afterwards, the sides of the nails had ridges that could have been prevented had she actually done a good job. Sorry ladies, you were nice and that is probably the only quality that will get you anywhere in life because your so-called professional skills will not. read more

Eek! Methinks not is right. I was very excited to go because I had got an amazing deal for $17.00 It included a deluxe manicure/pedicure and was a coupon for $50!!! How much better could that be, right? Wrong. I made an appointment for 5:45 the day before. I arrived on time and proceeded to wait with my feet in the water for 45 minutes until 6:30! She finished my toes and then I sat there until 7:55 when I couldn't take it anymore. She has messed up several fingers and had to redo them. I finally said that I would come back because it was getting late. I had had dinner plans and those had came and went. I gave her my coupon and she said that I needed to pay an additional $15.00 for the Shellac manicure. First, when I disclosed that I had a coupon, she should have told me that it would be extra, because it was not on the coupon. However, when you add the price of the regular pedicure that is normally $23 with no flowers, no massage and a Shellac manicure that normally is $25 the total is $48.00. The coupon was a $50.00 value. When we went over the coupon which says in the small print that you get $50 until December 23, 2011 and after that you get only $17.00. All she would say is that I only paid $17.00. Isn't that why people but coupons, right? As it was October there should have been no problem. I asked how could she expect me to pay $15.00 extra when I had an appointment, waited 45 minutes with my feet in the water, had my finger nails all messed up and had to come back to have them redone. I refused to pay as the service was horrible and my nails were all messed up. I would not recommend this salon to ANYONE...ever! read more

I've been to this salon accidentally and discovered Linda here. First time came here with my sister to do nails and ended up getting a Haircut for my sister and love the result. I returned second time to do the same haircut my sister had. She's a gem. She remembered me and I love my haircut and color which was brown. Love the result. I only give one star because they are nice. Place is dirty. Not sure if they clean manicure/pedicure stuff between people. I wish I had gone with my gut and left right away. Ive been going to foxy nails awhile now, although I miss Helen and her sisters work. Linda and the new staff are friendly and efficient. I mainly get pedi's to treat myself. I have ingrowns and they are careful and thorough. The massages are great. They are clean and take thier time. I don't like to be rushed when it comes to a pedi... Reasonably priced too. read more
